Good News On Brian Price, Amobi Okoye?

July 19th, 2012

Chatting with media amid the summer swelter on the fields of One Buc Palace today, Greg Schiano said he expects every Buccaneer outside of Da’Quan Bowers to be present and ready for training camp when the full team reports next week.

Immediately, Joe thought this was a great sign for Brian Price and Amobi Okoye.

Of course, Price’s health has been under a cloud of uncertainty for years, and his state of mind became an issue this year when he was excused from mandatory minicamp after struggling following his sister’s accidental death, landed in the hospital and later had an altercation with Mark Barron. Okoye had a some sort of knee procedure and missed mandatory minicamp.

These two guys coming in healthy is a huge deal. The Bucs can’t afford to enter another season paper thin at defensive tackle.

“Greg Schiano he expects every Buccaneer…”, expecting and having are completely different, as is having healthy.

    Thanks for explaining that

What the hell was explained? Ready means ready.

    Joe here,

@BucFanJeff – The actual question posed to Schiano was whether everyone would be physically ready to roll next Friday.

  6. SteveK Says:

Can’t wait for Price to come out eating Cam Newton’s lunch in week 1.

    Go Bucs!

  7. Ladyz Says:

Joe mentioned “Barron”, I bet he will show great respect for Price , if he ever signs. They will end up being good friends. Can’t wait till Price comes back strong.

Very excited about our dynamic duo of Price and Okoye – great chance that these 2 are your finishers at DT by a few weeks in to the season.

Okoye is a MUCH better pass rusher than Gerald and this will be evident after real bullets fly.

I have heard that Gerald is known as a good non-contact practice player (notnOkoye) but it doesn’t translate as expected to games where Okoye will make up the ground.

Price is nasty and apparently pissed – great qualities for a Nose.

The best use of Gerald is about 40% of snaps typically on run downs.

I’m so glad to here Price will be healthy.I’m sure he will end up dedicating this season to his sister. This defence could be pretty good IF the starters can stay healthy.

this is a hint guys not definitive… dont accuse or assume. gosh.

  12. Bk Says:

You guys are clueless. Brian Price is a bum. McCoy is a bust.

Price had 3 sacks and 24 tackles last year at DT!

Take a look at the stats of other DT in league. He sucks!

Don’t be suprised if he is cut.

  13. Bobby Says:

@Bk…… Wow! It’s hard to believe there may be someone more clueless than Thomas but keep posting and we can put you two in competition for ‘dumb and dumber’.

  14. Bk Says:

@bobby. Bring some facts or stats. Or shut your hole. I looked and u didn’t. Keep suckin on the straw of the hype machine.

I’ll say it again! Bust! The FACT they went out and picked up a DT in free agency was not because Price n McCoy are superb. I learned how to tackle this year….now that is dumb and dumber.

The sheer fact u would compare me to t2 says volumes about how far u have entered the buc bunghole.

Stats don’t lie! 24 tackles in 15 games. Ouch.
