Has Josh Freeman Regressed?

September 29th, 2011

Joe’s a tad late on this, as this TBO Bucs vlog with Woody Cummings and eye-RAH! Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune was shot on Monday. However, the subjects discussed are relevant, such as how will Cody Grimm be replaced and what’s going on with Josh Freeman’s picks in the red zone?

well, I’de like to listen to it, but everytime I try, it gets drowned out by the Ford truck commercial on your page (that- by the way- wont let me mute it even though it has the option)…very annoying.

No, Freeman has not regressed! He did not have an off-season, so he has not reasonably progressed or taken it to the next step. My opinion of what has happened – Opposing teams now fear Freeman and has had the whole off-season to study film and game plan to capitalize on his weaknesses. Here’s what I saw last year – (1) Josh has a tendency to throw high – he has tall receivers that usually make up for that, but it’s the reason he throws a lot of jump ball receptions. (2) Josh will often stare down a primary receiver. If he releases the ball quickly, he often gets away with it, but if he holds the ball a second or 2 longer, good defenders can make up the difference. (3) In the red zone he (or Olsen) has developed a tendency to look for Winslow first and Williams second in the back of the end zone which means he has to go through traffic or throw a jump ball. I’m a part-time Bass fisherman, If I can see this, other DCs can to. I place the blame for this primarily on Olsen for the lack of variety in his play-calling. For instance in the red zone, it ought to be Blount first, then play action or rollout with 2 TE sets with the option for Freeman to always run the ball. He is a big man, fast enough to make every trip to the red zone 6 points! He manages to win anyway, so I’m not worried, he will get better!

Agree completely about the talking ads you can’t mute. Joe if you’re looking for a way to drive me away from your website you’re succeeding, and I don’t mean that as an idle threat. I simply close the website everytime it pops up, there is nothing more annoying than that.

Joe has no control over the video ads. They come from TheBigLead network, which Joe is a proud partner of.

Simply put, those ads help keep this joint afloat. Joe doesn’t like them either, but it takes just a click of the mouse to silence them.

I understand Joe but you should tell them to do something about the annoying pop up ads with sound. It wouldnt mute for me and my choice is to just close the site instead, which I don’t think the other (non-pop-up ads with sounds) advertisers want.

Joe doesn’t have that kinda clout.

(Ssshhh: There is software that blocks these things for you.)

He has not been real good that is for sure. Some is him, some is the running game, some is the WRs not getting open, some is Williams and K2 being doubled alot.

BUT, they have 2 wins and beat ATL!! He will get better and better.

What I do know is against Indy (Freeney & Mathis) Blount needs 20+ carries again
