Blount Impersonator Outed

September 9th, 2011

It’s not uncommon for jokers to set up a Facebook account that pretends to be a professional athlete’s and carry on the charade daily.

A phony Ronde Barber was outed last year, and now a cowardly soul that takes pleasure in being LeGarrette Blount has been outed. The Detroit Free Press documents the louse and how a Bucs blogger bought into the faux Blount’s trash talking regarding Ndamukong Suh.

Earlier today, the website BucsCentral.com posted a story with a link to a Facebook page purporting to be Blount’s in which the running back allegedly wrote, “Almost game time, son! Let’s get this!! Aye Suh! Figured I should give ya a heads up and let you know I’m runnin right through you Sunday. Practice all you want but you can’t stop LGB.”

The Buccaneers said they have notified NFL social media indentity theft about the incident.

Now Joe could relate to pretending to be LeGarrette Blount if, say, some fabulous drunken hottie was convinced Joe was Blount. But outside of that, it’s pretty lame.

I would expect this from Falcon fans but I guess Lions fans are so hard up they’ll stop at NOTHING!

I think pretending to be an athlete to pick up a girl makes you a way bigger loser than talking a little nonsense online. Just ask the guy who was arrested for posing as Ben “Pre-rape” Roethlisberger.

Had a feeling this wasn’t real. Just didn’t sound like LGB to me when I read it earlier.

I’m sure this is real we are talking about a guy who punched a Boise state player and a bucs player in practice. Way to hang your team out to dry.

  5. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

@Dano, Yes Blount Cold Cocked a Boise State Player who verbally taunted him, and touched his shoulder. Blount laid him out. But he never hit a TAMPA Player, it was a Tennessee Titan player.

No sh*t it wasn’t real. It only takes common sense for one to figure that out!

We all know it was Thomas.

After seeing the words of people like Thomas, I think you may be expecting too much.

I have been involved in electronic media since…well, hardcore since 1996 or somewhere around there. I’ve worked as an edititor, publisher, artist, writer and Internet, Print & Multmedia developer. I’m am an avid MMO gamer as well.

And in all that time, even though I have had the ability, I have never understood how some people gain so much self gratification by doing things like this, deceiving people, hacking or such. I also have never been able to understand how some people can be negative on everything they post on forums and blogs.

At first I figured it was kids…you know, teenagers or college students. But I now suspect some people never outgrow such behaviors. Take Thomas, for example. He “claims” to be a former prosecuting “lawyer” (even though prosecutors are called attorneys). He gets on here and spouts all kinds of nonsense things.

You can tell, occasionally, that he has a little bit of an understanding of football. Rarely, but its there. But instead of spending his time constructively supporting his favorite team, he spouts purely negative things (and probably on a division rivals’ site because I really don’t believe he’s a Bucs fan).

It would be one thing if he just hated on the Glazers, or just on Morris…but the guy constantly hates on the entire team and everything involved with it.

Let’s assume for a moment he’s really a fan of say…the Falcons (mainly because I hate the Falcons and their fans have shown a lack of intellect). I understand rivalry. But what Thomas does goes beyond simple rivalry. I have never trolled opposing teams websites just to sow discontent. Yes…occasionally I would get on a board before a game and talk a tiny bit of smack, but times like those are years apart.

Yet here we have Thomas, who seems to self-gratify himself on brewing negativity ALL THE TIME.

At least Captain Tim is clearly a Bucs fan. You can tell he wants the team to do well. But Thomas is a scourge who constantly shoots down any positive thing the Bucs do. If he is a Bucs fan, he’s a prime example of hte worse of them.

And yes, Thomas…I’m saying this knowing you’ll likely read it and comment. Doesn’t matter. Truth may hurt but its still the truth. I’m sure that when you read this, you’ll go on the offense instead of thinking, “You know what? He’s kind of right.”

All you have to do is look back at your last 10, 25, or 50 comments…in each you are negative.

Its no secret that Capt Tim and I have disagreed from time to time. We’ve exchanged words that easily could have turned into a war. But I’ve gone out of my way to only disagree with him when I actually DO disagree…and I also try to mention if I do agree with him.

Because Capt. Tim also has a level of football intelligence. Occasionally, he and I might not agree on what’s best for the team…heck, that’s what being a fan is all about…the guess work. There are times he’s right…there are more times when I’m right (sorry, Tim…couldn’t resist, lol). He’s earned a level of respect.

But Thomas…well…if he would occasionally act like he actually wants the team to win instead of wishing they’d lose so that he can “prove” himself right…well then maybe he would be more respected as well.
