I remember that run. He looked like a giraffe.

I think it was the Cincy game at the beginning of the season when the announcers were talking about how disciplined Freeman seems to be getting by not forcing throws and dumping the ball instead of risking an interception. 25 TD’s and only 6 INT in a sophomore year, I can’t wait for next year already!

Brad Johnson has always been one of my favorite Buc players.

Josh Freeman > Brad Johnson > Trent Dilfer > Mark “Sanchize”

Brad never was a running QB he was good/great at moving within the pocket. He did have his moments to run the ball. And did. Thought it was funny his version of the throwaways. Live to play another down. He was okay with the check down play, as he himself said his arm strength was not his best attribute.
Good to see him and some of his history.

I remember when I first heard that the Bucs had signed Brad Johnson, on the heels of years of horrendous QB play from Trent Dilfer and Shaun King. At the time, it might have been the happiest moment of my life.

What’s with the Dilfer bashing? I know he wasn’t a superstar, but he is a Super Bowl winning QB, just like Brad. He made plays for the Ravens, so don’t say it was all defense.I can’t believe they replaced him by someone who’s momma named him Elvis. If he hadn’t gotten hurt in 99, I truly believe we beat the Rams and go to the Super Bowl. But….everything worked out for both sides. McNair was always tough on us anyways…

  9. D-Rome Says:

Brad Johnson endured a lot of b.s. that first year Gruden was here. Gruden wanted Rob Johnson to start. LOL!

sleeping in game jersey = not getting laid after winning SB.

    Sincerly,

    Niki Johnson

smart and accurate. My fav QB at tha time

Espo…You have a decent point. Dilfer and Johnson are a bit alike, they manage the game well and do not lose it for you. Johnson seemed to win everywhere but still was sent packing. The reason Tampa fans bash Dilfer is he sucked here in Tampa, maybe he would have improved. The Ravens D did get them there, but it was not despite Dilfer. He played an important role in making sure the O did not turn over the ball much etc…same with Johnson in TB, the D got us to the play offs, and then the o woke up with a vengance. Those play-off games were a thing of beauty.
