Lions Should Scare Bucs

December 17th, 2010

Joe’s not going to give away who Pat Kirwan picks to win this Sunday’s game, but Kirwan suggests Bucs fans should be scared to death that the Lions have been running the ball well in recent games. Given the Bucs keen ability to let third string nobodies run like the second coming of Jim Brown, Joe believes Kirwan’s concern in this CBSSports.com video is valid.

We seem to let the opponent set some kind of record in each game this year, so lets hope we can finally put an end to that and keep this road losing streak going for DET.

    This game scares me too.

Everyone seems to think they will roll the Lions but I see a couple issues:

    1. The Lions are MUCH better than their record would indicate. They are within 8 pts in just about every loss.

    2. Calvin Johnson without talib back there.

    3. Suh and the Detroit pass rush against 2 rookies at Guard and a backup center.

Basically, the injuries are slowly catching up.

Key to this game is to jump ahead early and not let them lean on their running attack. If we can force the game into Stanton’s hands I like our chances to win big.

Uh, don’t you mean “so lets hope we can continue that trend”? The Lions are in the process of setting a new record with each loss on the road. If we ended “let[tting] the opponent set some kind of record in each game”, that would mean that we lost and the Lions won.

    9 and 5-still alive.
    8 and 6-broken can’t fix.

    Hire,
Too much analysis on that one. He wants to end letting our opponents setting records against us. It made sense to me.

    Oar,

You’re the guy that thinks wishful thinking equates to supporting the team…
