Faine Will Test His Injury Today

November 3rd, 2010

Joe’s not doing cartwheels over the prospect of Jeff Faine rushing to return to start on Sunday in Atlanta.

Do the Bucs really miss him right now? Jeremy Zuttah is hardly Sean Mahan out there.

Joe would rather see Faine get another week healthier before the Bucs break up the starting offensive line that performed so well in Arizona. Per the Bucs Twitter feed, Faine will hit the practice field today.

C Jeff Faine (quad) said he is going to test it out on the prac field today (it’s a slowed-down practice) and hopes he can return this week.

Joe’s hoping Faine feels great. But Joe would prefer to see last Sunday’s O-line rewarded with another start.

Agreed, line looked good last week. As much as I don’t like Zuttah at LG, I think he is tremendous at Center

  2. McBuc Says:

Agreed as well. keep the same line up. Zuttah may be our center of the future anyway.

  3. BamBamBuc Says:

If Zuttah can get a better grasp on the shotgun snap, I’m all for keeping it the same as it was last week. Unfortunately, he flops too many balls back to Freeman that really limit his time to get the ball off. I think the line would be equally good with Faine at C and Zuttah at LG. Larsen hasn’t blown me away there, he’s done ok. I do like Lee at RT though.

Hey Jeff don’t rush it man…take a chill pill and sit on the sidelines for a week. If the Bucs don’t win THEN come back in. HOWEVER, should the Bucs win then maybe Faine is worried the Glazers will do a Chris Hovan number on Faine!

  5. JDouble Says:

I think Faine is over rated and over paid. I’d keep Zuttah in as starter unless he starts playing bad. He has outplayed Faine so far.

  6. Gavster Says:

The Bucs and Dolphins also put in claims on Merriman. the bills got him but looks like we were looking to upgrade our pass rush.

  7. JDouble Says:

    Titans got Moss. lol

    Good luck with that.

  8. OAR Says:

BamBam, I have to agree. His shotgun snaps are lacking.

  9. bucfanjeff Says:

Bucs put in a claim for Merriman, as did Miami. I’m sure Joe will have something to say about that.

  10. bucfanjeff Says:

Zuttah has not out played Faine. He has provided quality depth though.

  11. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Tampa did well with Lee starting on the line.

  12. Capt.Tim Says:

Apple- yup, very well indeed. And with Larsen . .

  13. Larry Says:

While Zutt has played commendably, Larsen is JAG out there. He gets blown up now and again, just isn’t very stout.

Lee should not be displaced by True, however.
