  1. Mr. Lucky Says:

Hey old school – thanks so much for the insight. I have been looking forward to hearing these summaries each and every night – hopefully TBO watches these as well – they could learn.

Question: How did JJ look compared to Freeman? I know Freeman will be the starter but has JJ looked ready to go?

How about Caddy? I didn’t hear his name much. Is he still #1 or has Ward passed him as the #1?

  2. Derek 'OldSchool' Fournier Says:

JJ versus Freeman is an interesting question. Freeman seems to have progressed in many areas but still has some key liabilities (disregards mechanics making accuracy suffer and stares down routes). JJ does neither of those things but has displayed a PAINFUL habit of holding the ball too long. To make things worse, he has, on more than one occasion, compounded that with a bad decision.

NET/NET – I like JJ. He *should* be able to be coached up on this issue. Make your read, check your 1 and 2 and if it is not there, tuck it and go. Would I feel better with a quality vet in that spot? Probably. But I am old. I think in this movement, they will force youth to step up or shrink.

Caddy looks good. Legs look fresh. DWard, while having what I feel is a good camp (despite other reports) is still #2.

  3. Radio Mushmouth Says:

sounds to me like we still suck.

  4. Derek 'OldSchool' Fournier Says:

Not sure where you get that from Radio but the position of cynic is an easy one to occupy. Little to no risk.

I won’t know if we ‘suck’ until we actually compete and I don’t typically look at team development as a binary.
