Bucs Dump Official Message Board — For Now

May 6th, 2010

For those who have yet to see it, the Buccaneers have re-designed their Web site.

Joe’s still getting used to the change. Joe’s lukewarm to it right now. But frankly, as long Scott Smith and the Bucs continue to turn out top notch video (which they do compared to most teams) Joe will cotinue to find it to be an excellent site.

One thing missing from the new site are fan message boards. The well used fan hub was shut down today at noon, per a notice posted by the team.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have joined with the NFL to create an exciting new website. In addition to the new website, a new message board is being created that will launch this fall.

The current message board will be taken down on Thursday, May 6th at noon.

We encourage all of our message board fans to join us on our official Facebook page until we launch the new message board later in the year.

Joe was quite surprised by the move. Why shut it down? Why stifle the voices of the fans?

As a pretty tech savvy guy, Joe knows that the current message board could have continued easily while the new one is developed.

Perhaps the Bucs prefer fans spend more time leaving comments on JoeBucsFan.com? Though that seems rather doubtful considering the prevalent anger in those ranks.

Joe looks forward to seeing the Bucs new mesage board. And Joe plans to launch his own before the season.

The new ‘ticket site’ doesn’t work… yay.

  2. Dew Says:

Joe, I’m really liking your site. Thanks for all the great work. I’m excited about the draft this year and expecting some blackouts so went ahead and bought season tickets. Hoping for an exciting year and watching how our new talent performs. Keep up the great work.

  3. admin Says:

    Joe here,

Dew – Thanks for the kind words. It helps balance out the venom Joe often absorbes. Appreciate the love.

  4. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

    Joe,

Who is the guy in the picture. I can’t tell. He is a F’n beast though!! Looks at those arms. Is that Dekoda?

  5. Larry Says:

There was too much negativity on that message board anyways. Haven’t been there in awhile. Since you have the links to the good stuff on buccaneers.com anyway I usually let you take me to that website when I need to. joebucsfan.com is the best!

  6. Joe Says:

    Larry:

Thanks for the kind words. That was very nice of you.

  7. Chargedcbh Says:

WHY shut down the message board? Do you read the stupid comments on this board? That’s why!

  8. Rich Says:

So long “Legends”. that board was full of pansies who who would just dribble on about how your post is wrong and the mods are going to ban you for mentioning an unmentionable. Mention a college player in passing and you have 30 responses of “ooooohhhhhh he said a no no! hope you enjoy your vacation! hahahah!!!”

A joebucsfan message board. This board better have one section solely dedicated to the hard working ladies of the league. Where we can discuss the finer points of scantily clad women cheering for the team they love. With pictures of course.

  9. Mark Says:

The guy in the pic is Joey Galloway.

  10. Matt Says:

    Absolutely ridiculous.

  11. Joe Says:

Where we can discuss the finer points of scantily clad women cheering for the team they love. With pictures of course.

    Of course!

  12. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Mark that looks nothing like Joey Galloway. Joe can you answer this for me please?!?

  13. tampa2 Says:

Who wants to visit the Bucs Propaganda site when you can have real discussions on JoeBucsfan.com. Haven’t been there, so I don’t know if those fans feel the same as Joe’s fans or not. Sounds as though I am not the only unhappy camper though. Lol I wander if Raheem has a site. If so, I bet it has an animated Chest Bump on it.

  14. oar Says:

FuNkY, It looks like Galloway to me. Yes, please Joe, curious minds want to know?

  15. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

The face looks like him but those arms are massive. I know he was built, but I did not think he was that big. I might be wrong, not sure. But I would like to know!! Come on Joe!!

  16. Radio Mushmouth Says:

    HAHAHa!!!

Glad to see it shut down…The place is run by nazi’s.

They had the most dumb-ass rules. Like, for instance, you can’t talk about the draft on the Bucs board ….what?? ….or if your signature is one pixel off the designated size they ban you. Stupid shit like that.

I won’t even mention the idiocy of the posters and the mods.

Everyone brace themselves , the riff-raff will be scrambling for new places to post , and they could be landing here very shorty 🙂

  17. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

How could you not talk about the draft??? That is nonsense!!!! Good ridance to em’!!!

  18. d-money Says:

    FuNkYxMuNkEy,

Kind of looks like Galloway to me. He always wore that pirate headband thingy at practice.

Although I don’t really remember his arms being that big.

Come on Joe, help us out here!!

  19. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

I don’t care for the new website, compared to the old one. One Buc video even made us watch a freaking ad first!

  20. Mark Says:

The blow up of the pic… Definitely Galloway.

    (and he was always cut.)

  21. d-money Says:

    Thanks Mark,

The grey in the beard is a dead giveaway.

  22. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Yep mark, you are correct. Haha the grey does give it away!! and wow he is ripped bigger than most LB’s!! damn

  23. Eric Says:

Must be awhile ago, the autographie has a blocking icon jersey.

  24. Joe Says:

    Guys:

This “Joe” has no idea. The “other Joe” put up the photo and he is busy trying to get the chat software to work.

  25. oar Says:

He could give Pittman a run for the guns!

  26. Eric Says:

Here a Joe, there a Joe, everywhere a Joe.

  27. Radio Mushmouth Says:

    Funkeymonkey:

They claim the draft has to do with college, and is off topic.

Stupid as hell , I know.

  28. paul Says:

Good thing they shut that cess pool down.

I’ve been a buc’s fan and season ticket holder since the late 80’s when I moved here.

A few years back I went over to the buc’s message board to take a look and the posters there act like if you haven’t been posting on that message board for 2+ years, then you’re not a true bucs fan.

Never find any insight or news over there that I don’t find on here anyways.

  29. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

hahahaha thats funny. everywhere a joe joe!!! and yea radio thats nuts. they may be college players, but they are about to be in the NFL and on our team. INSANITY!!!!!!! hahaaha

  30. CreamsiclePasties Says:

    RIP TBBBB

If memory serves me it was one of (if not thee) first message boards for an NFL team…..I spent a good amount of time posting over there

  31. Pruritis Ani Says:

Yeah…I used to post over all the time. I found this site last season and became addicted. This is a much nicer place with good analytical posts from the community. Plus, there is a lot less propaganda and…..sometimes there are photos of the ever so lovely cheerleaders or perhaps some other bevy of beautiful, babbling bimbos.

  32. CreamsiclePasties Says:

I can understand why they got rid of the message boards….as with any message board where idiots can post anonymously there was some pretty vile garbage spewed over there, particularly when it came to politics.

Personally, I had been told by various posters that they wanted my mother to be gang raped, that my family should die in a terrorist attack, and on and on…….I mean, I take that stuff with a grain of salt especially when it’s said by people who’ve never met me in person, but I was always amazed that a professional sports organization would allow that type of talk on their official website. Not just condoning it, but by allowing it on their website site they basically endorsed it

  33. Scott Says:

It was fun to tweek the posters on that board by questioning the official company line. Yes it was full of the worst kind of naive sports fan, but is also had a small group of people that questioned everything, and I know that must have driven the powers that be nuts.

  34. Common Sense Says:

“and yea radio thats nuts. they may be college players, but they are about to be in the NFL and on our team. INSANITY!!!!!!!”

Really? All of them? Wow, you should work in the front office.

I really don’t see that as an evidence of “nazi” modding tactics. If you have a specific section for college talk and there are rules in place, don’t act like a whiny little bitch when you get slapped on the hand for going elsewhere to talk about college players. Is your ability to read that stifled by Florida schooling? “Derrrr dey said to keep Bucs talk in the Bucs section and I done talked about dem USFCC Bulls and I was reparamandidid. Dey are sooo unfairs to me!!”

    Pussies.

  35. Scott Says:

I’m calling shennanigans on Creamsicle Patsie. That site banned people for links to YouTube videos. You’re telling us they allowed threats like that and did nothing? That was the most overly moderated board I have ever seen. Did you complain about the posts? If so what did the moderator/s reply?

I have been going there for years and have never seen anything even remotely like that allowed.

  36. CreamsiclePasties Says:

    @ scott

There was substantial leeway cut for “veteran” posters over there

Yes I complained….never got a response back. Let’s just say the majority of that board enjoyed their “tea bags” if you get my drift……and it got way out of hand starting in and around January 20th 2009.

  37. Radio Mushmouth Says:

CreamsiclePasties is right . The veteran posters could get away with murder over there , while newcomers would be nit-picked over the most trivial of pointless rules. The Modding over there was truly crooked , and the Vets would take advantage of it to no end by baiting new posters they didn’t like .

…and as I predicted , now the riff-raff is showing up here because thier old stomping grounds has gone kaput. ( see dumb-ass poster:Common Sense )

In honor of the death of Nazism on Buccaneers.com , here is a video for you all to enjoy:

  38. Pruritis Ani Says:

    Radio,

Let’s hope not. One of the draws to this site is that there is no drama like the other place.

I posted over there for number of years (Intrepid) and there was a big change in the tone after the 2002 season. Personally, I think it went downhill from there. I stopped posting after about the 3rd game when the Kool Aid drinkers were out in full force. Then, I migrated over here. Initially, I wasn’t sure about posting on a blog, but I actually like it much better. Hopefully, it can stay this way.

  39. Paul Says:

Haha, Common Sense must be one of the “Legends” (posters who have no life other than post on a message board 12hrs/day and belittle new members and suck up to the mods in order to boost their own self esteem).
Now he’s devastated that the tbbb was shut down. All of the sudden his whole life has no meaning.
Its ok bro, you’ll get over it. Just remember, if you get any crazy thoughts…call 1 800 SUICIDE. We wouldn’t want to lose one of the TBBB “Legends”

  40. Radio Mushmouth Says:

    LOL Paul

  41. 0-26 Survivor Says:

CreamsiclePasties, you and Radio Mushmouth shoulda followed the rules and perhaps you would not have been disengaged from the board. It is what it is. Now that the board is officially decommissioned until the fall, you and the other whiners can quit bellyaching about how badly you were mistreated.
If you couldn’t run with the big dogs, you should have stayed on the porch.
The board was a CORPORATE BOARD, with rules set by 1BP that needed to be followed. Some of the veteran posters, especially the Legends, had a pretty good idea of how far they could go. Unfortunately, some of you others didn’t, making you cannon fodder.
Get over it. Or at least be a tad less “creative” in your story telling.
Christmas….you’re like a bunch of estrogen deficient old women with your bellyaching.

  42. Radio Mushmouth Says:

Don’t flatter yourself, 0-26 , no one is whining or belly-aching about that board . We are LAUGHING at it.

To us , it is a joke . But the even bigger joke are the douche -bags like you, who actually stuck around and played into the mob-rule atmoshpere and Gestapo-like modding….but hey , even Hitler had millions of loyalists , didn’t he??

So , please feel free to stick around and get yourself owned in a place where a level playing field and free-speech is actually encouraged . TBBBB is never coming back anyways. ( That’s direct orders from the Glazers- dirty little secret)

  43. 0-26 Survivor Says:

However you want to play it out, son.
But the calling of names and bowing up is not my style. Never was in the 10 years I was a member.
Sorry. They say if you wallow in the mud with pigs, you get muddy and the pig gets happy.
    Stay happy.
My point was in directing your attention to your own issues, not that there is anything wrong with that. You feel the way you feel. It’s your right.
You are entitled to your own opinion, no matter how ridiculous it may seem.
Don’t stay mad. It just ends up making you miserable.
    Peace.

  44. Radio Mushmouth Says:

I’m very very happy , and your shitty former board biting the dust only adds to that happiness.

    Trust me 🙂

  45. CreamsiclePasties Says:

    @ 0-26

I’ve got nothing against the TBBBB…..I “made it” on that board for several years….left of my own volition. I may have started as an outsider looking in, but came to respect the posters like JB, BFT, PewterPig hell….even PMI. As I’m sure you would agree the venom and vitriol on that board got way out of hand, particularly in the off-topic section and it got to the point where posters stopped reading my posts and would reply to every little thing I wrote with clear hatred for me. It really got to the point where I couldn’t say a darn thing over there without feeling unwelcome and hated. Why would I subject myself to that?

I was and still am friends with various posters on that board…..had the chance to meet you actually and enjoyed the brief chat we had.
