Sabby Needs Help On The Farm

March 8th, 2010

"Coach said he would 'fix' me this offseason"

Bucs backup safety and special teams ace Will Allen was snatched up in unrestricted free agency by the Steelers today, so tweets Adam Schefter of BSPN.com.

Allen had signed a one-year deal with the Bucs for $2 million or so last year and got hurt in midseason.

Hardly an exciting development today. But the Bucs are now down Allen and Jermaine Phillips at safety. Tanard Jackson is a mis-step away from a long suspension and Sabby Piscitelli is, well, a goat.

Now safety Corey Lynch surely has his value on special teams, and maybe he’s burgeoning backup safety, but the Bucs are thin over the top.

Eric Berry sure would change the dynamic immediately.

I’m officially on the Berry Bandwagon.

  2. Eric Says:

Berry is but one of the multitude of future Hall of Famers we may pluck from the upcoming stupendous draft who, after extensive OTA’S with the Dream and staff, are sure to have an immediate and everlasting impact.

  3. bucfanjeff Says:

No to Berry. Shore up the DL and they guys behind you improve.

  4. jaycorr Says:

If the DTs are gone then you gotta get Berry. It is so sad to watch this team fall apart.

    Eric Berry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  6. Aldo Says:

i think than Suh and McCoy have too much weight over their shoulders with all this draft stuff than they will not be as good as everyone wants, and whats wrong in take another DT?? Brian Price, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, that guys are preety good, and we can get one of them in the second round!!! so f we can get Eric Berry and one of this DT that i say i guess will improve a lot in the D, just my humble opinion

  7. bil Says:

I think third overall is too high for a safety. He won’t have an impact on even half the plays run, while Suh or McCoy would be in on almost every play. Use the three pick for either one of those guys (hopefully McCoy) and we can pick up a really decent safety in the 2d or 3d round…maybe the kid from USF.

Joe, if Sabby is a goat, he is a talking goat? Like the Adam Sandler talking goat? “That thing is pointy fellas…he button hooked me, I didn’t know he was going to button hook me”

  9. Radio Mushmouth Says:

Will Alen is a complete garbage can.

Addition by subtaction if you ask me.

  10. Radio Mushmouth Says:

…and I do know how to spell Allen and Subtraction.

The Bucs aren’t just thin over the top, the Bucs are thin EVERYWHERE. This is the second season in a row that they’ve detonated the roster, leaving us fans with virtually no hope of success!

    What the hell, Glazers?!

  12. NFL Lawyer Says:

Is there quite possibly a dumber, more forced nickname for a player than Sabby the Goat?
What’s next, Yosemite Sammie Stroughter or Sammie the Sheepdog?

How about Sabby the NFL Lawyer? 🙂

    Joe here,

***Sammie the Sheepdog — quality Bugs Bunny reference.

  15. Kyle Says:

They should wait and draft Stucky from Kansas in round 3 and make the D-line better. That kid had a great combine and although he isn’t Berry quality he’s still better than the Goat from OSU

  16. leningan Says:

Agreed bucfanjeff but we still need guys behind the line who can improve.

  17. Vince Says:

We as fans are screwed boys, no matter how you look at it.
