Chucky Didn’t Sleep Well Last Night

March 27th, 2010

When news broke yesterday that Donovan McNabb might be had from the Eagles for as little as a third-round pick, Joe instantly thought of Chucky. Joe visualized poor Chucky hammering his fist against every nearby wall and tossing rapid fire F-bombs at the news.

Surely, if Chucky were still coaching the Bucs he would be salivating right now at the thought of scoring McNabb to put the Bucs over the top (after leading the Bucs’ to a Glazer-hating 9-7 season in 2009, behind hot young defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Ike Hilliard’s 50 catches and Jeff Garcia and Brian Griese splitting time).

Jimminy Christmas! A third-round pick for that guy. That’s Donovan freaking McNabb, man. I love that guy. He’s a Hall of Famer, man. He’s still a kid, too. I love that guy.”

Sorry, Chucky. This all could have been yours if you just beat the Raiders at home in 2008. …But don’t worry. Matt Hasselbeck is probably there for you when you get back to coaching.

Update: Chucky was cornered by the Philly media at a formal event yesterday. Check out the near psychotic look in his eyes when he talks about McNabb being on his team.

Damn, Chucky did look a little rough.

Ill take him + Mcnabb any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Only downside would be having to release Reggie Brown since they didn’t mesh well together.

I know I am weak and all, but I actually like a 9-7 season.

  2. Jonny Says:

Think high Eric. A 12-4 is far better than 9-7. And I don’t mind enduring some 3 win seasons or coaching changes for that to happen. I absolutely hate barely making to the playoffs by beating bad teams and losing to the very good ones in 1st round.

  3. Eric Says:

Well I dunno, I bet the 9-7 2008 Cardinal fans enjoyed that season.

Did you know that in the enire 34 year history of the bucs they have only been above 9-7 six times?

They achieved 12-4 on only one occasion, coached by Jon Gruden.

So, I think you and the Glazers are setting the bar pretty darn high for Mr. Morris.

Im really looking forward to it, should be a hell of a dynasty!

  4. Vince Says:

Radio won’t win 12 games in his entire career as a HC much less in one season.

  5. Eric Says:

I have my dought whether he will ever achieve the disgraceful 9-7 mark.

  6. chucky Says:

    Hey Jonny

With my replacement in there it will only take until 2015 to get to the 12 win mark.

Ok so 9-7 didn’t cut it in 2008; I hope you enjoyed your 3-13 season last year because that’s gonna be the norm in Tampa.

  7. Raheem Says:

Hey Chucky, I did enjoy my 3-13 season last year. We grew as a team!! Antonio Bryant’s complaining was too much, so I got rid of him. I re-signed Michael Clayton to a 5 year $25 million contract because he was in your doghouse you jerk! Next year, I’m looking to win 5 games. I’m also expecting Michael Clayton to have 400 yards receiving instead of 200.

  8. tampa2 Says:

Eric, you are being overly optimistic there, I doubt he will ever achieve the 7-9 mark before the disgraceful 9-7 mark.
