Bucs To Meet With Talibesque LeGarrette Blount

March 20th, 2010

The Bucs will meet with and workout lots of potential draft picks in Tampa in the coming weeks, from potential seventh rounders to manbeast Ndamukong Suh.

Stephen Holder, of the St. Pete Times, is now saying the Bucs have scheduled time with mean, nasty, physical running back LeGarrette Blount, who became a celebrity last fall for going Talib on a Boise State linebacker. See the video below.

Well, Blount plays violent, and he seems pretty violent after the whistle, as well. He could be a good fit for the Bucs in the later rounds. All they’d have to do is keep a helmet out of his hands during practice.

YES SIR, the next sammie stroughter.

  2. Marc Says:

…just replace the injury for the punch and the oregon jersey for the oregon state jersey

  3. JDouble Says:

Kids a steal in the 5th or 6th if really makes it there. The punch was a one time event were he lost control of his emotions. Never had any other problems like that. Doesn’t drink alchohol, no drugs, no arrests. All his coaches and teamamtes say the punch was out of character and that he is the friendliest guy on the team.

People want to write him off for one single punch. Can any of us say we didn’t do something equally as dumb when we where 21? The dud just had a baby boy with his wife and totally dedicated to being a father. He won’t be trouble. Hope we get him late.

    Joe here,

Can’t disagree with you JDouble. But punching someone in the face is a major red flag.

  5. Kyle Says:

Who cares about him punching that douche. A) that kid deserved it for running his mouth and B) he plays for Boise State so I would love to have Blount he plays with intensity and hates BSU just like I do so bring him in

  6. Eric Says:

Sorry, thats all i need to see, would never want the POS on my team.

Not only did he sucker punch the opposing player, who wasn’t wearing a helmet and could have been seriously injured, he pushed his own team mate and had to be corraled and restrained like a wild animal on National Television. A total disgrace to the sport of college football.

NO WAY that is an isolated incident. I don’t care if his buds are covering for him or not.

Of course we can’t have AB cause he had bad “body language”, but this guy is A-0k. Then again if he comes cheap in the later round thats all that matters to these losers.

  7. Rich Says:

around 1:40 the announcer talks about him getting kicked out of the first practice of the summer for behavior issues.

Wonder if the cab drivers are going to on look out for him.

  8. Fatsacks Says:

whats the difference between him and trueblood??!!??! why not bring…i do agree he is a great talent when he is on the feild and is actualy carrying the rock and busting plays. the kid can run and finds the endzone! were aging on the rb side and its time too bring some younger more aggresive talent in and see what they can do…mccoy, hoping trade up and get a Tate or penn , then maybe a upgrade in LB or Cb then try for this kid. That to me will somewhat as a season ticket holder makes it easier for me to put my butt in that seat on sundays. And “IF”

  9. Fatsacks Says:

we get marshall….im loving it even more!

  10. larryed Says:

I may have gotten that POed when I was his age and had similiar reactions. Hmmm I’m sure of it. Doesn’t make him a bad person.
If he keeps it on the field and not in the backseat of a cab, I’m all for the attitude.

  11. Jonny Says:

JOE, that was a great word. “Talibesque”. LMAO, should be added in a dictionary if Talib does it again.

It’s not a positive thing for him to put on his resume, that’s for sure, but I’ve punched people in the face for taunting me before. Some of them were good friends. I’m not a bad person and wouldn’t dream of punching someone in the face now-a-days, but I didn’t have the maturity or self control to refrain when I was Blounts age. That jerk shouldn’t have talked shit and smacked him on the shoulder after a tough loss. I bet he doesn’t do it again.

Anyways, I think drugs, arrest records, and and guys that talk like gangsta rappers are red flags. This was a one time thing that he already paid dearly for. I’d give him a chance if I was GM, and I think some GM will. He has too much potential to make it to the 5th or 6th. Some team will grab him in the 4th at the latest.

You think he is bad now give him a half a million dollars and the real asshole come out!!WhaT DID THE GUY HE PUNCH SAY TO MAKE THE GUY GO OFF AND PUSH HIS COACHES AND TEAM MATES AROUND

  14. Joe Says:

    jlynch1340:

Joe believes that Blount got himself in very hot water not so much for drilling the dude from Boise State (you are right, what did that guy say to Blount?) but afterwards, Blount tried to run into the crowd to take on Boise State fans.

It very nearly turned into one of the ugliest incidents in recent American sports. It was wanting to fight the Boise State fans is what got Blount in deep ca-ca.
