How Come No Bucs In The Pro Bowl?

January 30th, 2010

To paraphase the great Phil Mushnick, the NFL, apparently running low on high ideas, decided to move this year’s Pro Bowl from Hawaii to South Florida to be played before the Super Bowl.

There are a number of Pro Bowl players who will be playing in the Super Bowl next weekend, so already the Pro Bowl was short on player.

Then, players began avoiding the Pro Bowl, scheduled for tomorrow, like the plague. It’s gotten so bad that David Garrard is an AFC quarterback.

But despite the low numbers, not one Bucs player can be found on the NFC roster.

Gary Shelton of the St. Petersburg Times, wonders why in this video.

I gave it a lot of thought , and I think I figured out why we have no players in the Pro Bowl…..

    WE SUCK !!

  3. B From O-Town Says:

No one on our deserves to be in the Pro Bowl… from top to bottom our team stunk… even YOU Ronde Barber… is this even a serious question?

  4. Louie Says:

It’s called the “Pro” Bowl. It’s hard to consider yourself a pro when you go 3-13.

    It’s embarrassing. Dominic and Raheem
should be held responsible and to hear were not
bringing in any top notch coaches or players
on a team that lacks talent is down right depressing.
With that said and our weak schedule and
not bringing in any free agents. I don’t care how
many players we draft. They still have
have to be coached and with this staff. Only
    4-12 next year.

I find the draft endlessly fascinating, Joe, so I found the latest “mock” draft from Pro Football Weekly interesting in that they have Gerald McCoy going #1 to the Rams, Mr. Suh going #2 to the Lions and none other than Jason Pierre-Paul, the DE from South Florida, going #3 to the Bucs.

I quote: “After trading away the late Gaines Adams during the season, GM Mark Dominik needs to upgrade a pass rush that ranked near the bottom of the league, and Pierre-Paul has unique rush ability.”

I know, I know, these mock drafts can be off the wall, but still, I haven’t seen anybody else suggest the Bucs take Pierre-Paul at #3, so for that reason, I bring it your attention.

I remain your devoted reader and fan …

Oh, one more thing, Joe … here’s the link to PFW’s mock:

    Pierre-Paul #3 overall ?? That’s about the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
