Bring Back Antonio Bryant

January 3rd, 2010

Right now the Bucs stink.

Right now the Bucs need to hold on to their best players, and upgrade their talent level, especially around their starting quarterback. And that means they’ll have to do more than whiff in free agency and hit a few homeruns in the draft.

Antonio Bryant is the Bucs best wide receiver by a few hundred miles.

He plays hard. He’s got great talent. And his chemistry with Freeman is improving.

Joe realizes Bryant isn’t the best No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL. But at least he is a legitimate threat at the position.

He wants to play here.

Sign the man for another couple of years.

Give him some damn money. You have plenty left after the cap debacle you pulled on the fans.

  2. Tye Says:

    Pay the man!!!

  3. Louie Says:

Keeping Bryant is a NO BRAINER.

  4. Fredrick Says:

He’s an exceptional talent, but can he stay on the field for 16?

  5. Pruritis Ani Says:

Ditto with the other posts. AB is probably the best threat this team has ever had at WR. He’s definately a keeper and worth the cash

Joe, you do realize that the Bucs can’t sign Bryant for the league minimum. He’s worth more than that and knows it. So be ready with the bad attitude rap you will need to give him when he doesn’t sign for what ever small amount the Glazers pretend to offer. Label him as a bad apple and be glad we don’t have him. That seems to work with most that pretend to be fans of the Bucs. We suck and will continue to suck until we have new owners that won’t be controlled by the local media.

Well said Joe. This reader thinks maybe you should be running the Bucs. It will be a shame to lose him to free agency because we all know the sorry ass owners won’t spend to bring in another one. This has been a dreadful season and I’m glad that the misery has ended. That’s a sad statement to make but the truth hurts. Bring in the chin! This year’s performance by a so called NFL team was absolutely putrid.

what jk said x2. Bryant has been consistently not a team guy this year, he does work for his catches but doesn’t get separation, add a young qb who isn’t overly accurate and the result is interceptions, on the int in the endzone on the throw to Bryant, Bryant most def showed Freeman up.

If we are going to spend 10 mil a year on any one player we need to spend on the o line, start with Penn and add a power guard if available. How about a real fullback or a blocking tight end.

The atmosphere needs to change over there and AB has never proven to be about anything but AB

  9. Tristan Says:

There’s no doubt in my mind that AB is a keeper. We don’t have another receiver of his caliber. Well, K2 is, but he’s not really a wideout. With K2 at the TE position, we desperately need another WR to complement Bryant and give opposing defenses serious fits.

tnew: We DO have a blocking tight end and his name is Michael Clayton. We just need to put him on the end of the line and let him earn his pay by doing something he’s actually good at.

  10. Phil a '76 Buc Says:

    Cut Clayton
Sign Brandon Marshall, put him on Paxil and throw him the damn ball !

  11. tnew Says:

amen phil…if I’m going to have a head case out there how about a stud who gets separation
