Sabby Doesn’t Wrap Up

December 27th, 2009

"Hi. I play strong safety. Maybe I'd be better at linebacker like my predecessor."

Joe’s moaned about Sabby Piscitelli all season. The guy’s just not that good. He misses tackles, takes bad angles and clearly isn’t the sharpest knife in the secondary.

He’s not panning out as a second round pick.

Today, Piscitelli would probably be getting a goat label hung on him if the Saints kicker hadn’t missed a 37-yard field goal to end regulation, leaving the scored tied at 17.

On the previous play, the Saints completed a short pass over the middle to Robert Meachem. With his back to the end zone, Meachem then busted a needless way-to-high neck tackle by Piscitelli and tacked on an extra dozen or so yards onto the play to set up the field goal attempt.

All Piscitell had to do was wrap him up.

Earlier this season, a young lady ripped Sabby for not wrapping up.

Now Joe will do the same. It was the most basic of plays from a strong safety, and he blew it.

Somewhere, Jermaine Phillips is smiling thinking about yet another comeback in 2010.

Kam Chancellor. 6’4″ 228lbs safety out of VT. 3rd round prospect.

    Nuff said.

Darrel Stuckey is another 3rd round SS prospect that would be a nice pick up. Very smart, great leader, and solid football player.

Kam Chancellor just hurts people for a living though. I’d take him first.

Man, I think more than Suh or McCoy we need Eric Berry. That guy’s versatility is amazing, DL sure is a problem but i think we can explore free agency to fill needs there.

You people are CLUELESS. It’s Piscatelli’s fault for Freeman’s INT’s to, right?

    Joe here,

No, Jackson. Piscitelli has nothing to do with Freeman’s picks.

Let’s remember the 2007 NFL draft. For all those damn picks Bruce Almighty, Dennis Hickey and crew had they managed to royally screw up the majority of them. You almost have to think Tanard Jackson in Rd 4 was just a law of averages finally swinging in their professionally handicapped favor given the BUST label that can be applied to their first three picks.

Well at least that inept scouting crew is gone. What? Dennis Hickey and a number of ‘scouts’ are still with the team? Really?! Oh….THAT’S why we suck! I get it!
