Greg Olson, Bucs Afraid To Run

December 15th, 2009

Never has Joe heard the word “afraid” when it comes to the NFL (unless it’s when the bad Dexter Jackson tried to return kicks). But that’s exactly the word Cadillac Williams threw out to describe the Bucs offense.

In this TBO video about the heinous loss to the Jets, WFLA-TV’s Dan Lucas reports Williams told him Olson and the Bucs offense was afraid to run the ball.

Can you imagine? The Bucs were — to hear Raheem the Dream talk from the moment he was hired until he fired offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski — going to be a violent, angry team which would punish defenses with the run.

Now, they are scared rabbits with the run!

I hope that is not true. No team can win in the NFL if they are afraid to run the ball.

If that is the case, They should be scared of throwing the ball too. We know they were scared to blitz after the first 2 games this year.

The point is Joe, that we heard alot of things this preseason that have been contradictated. But I am not a man to look back. That is why I propose to instead of having any more press conferncess, the Bucs should just release 1 of 2 memos. 1st memo is when Freeman throw alot of Int’s, the other team is a real man, we need to get better,

the 2nd memo is for when Freeman throw more Td’s then Ints, basically same memo but says Freeman is progressing.

I think this will save all of us alot of time.

This article is bad reporting. That was Roy Cumming’s fluffer putting words in Caddy’s mouth. He said Caddy sensed they were afraid to run. The fluffer never said that Caddy actually said that.
