Cowher Now Using Bills As Leverage

December 30th, 2009

Provided the river of rumors that the Glazer Family and Bill Cowher have done more than exchange Christmas cards lately is true, it doesn’t surprise Joe to learn that Cowher is now using Buffalo against the Bucs.

Or to be more exact, Cowher’s agent.

So desperate to find a big name coach to want to move to Buffalo, the Bills have even reached out to ousted Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis. So it’s actually pretty smart of Cowher’s camp to tease the Bills not unlike someone telling Joe that Rachel Watson is interested in a late-night rendezvous.

That’s the news brought by Sal Capaccio of Buffalo Sports Daily (via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com). Apparently, Cowher’s people have told the Bills the package they are offering Cowher has “impressed” the Super Bowl-winning coach, Capaccio writes on his Twitter account.

This is just a smart move by Cowher’s camp. As Joe wrote extensively earlier, the more options Cowher has, the bigger the bidding war.

Seems as though Cowher’s agent has been earning his money of late.
