Blaming Zebras “A Copout”

Thanks in part to Maurice Stovalls touchdown pass, the Bucs nor the fans should pin the loss on the zebras.

Thanks in part to Maurice Stovall's touchdown pass, the Bucs nor the fans should blame the zebras.

Like a number of Bucs fans and Joe, Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune is suspicious of the “Michael Clayton interception” against the Dolphins last week.

But Cummings, in a TBO podcast, says anyone who pins the Bucs loss on the crazy call just before halftme is “a copout.”

Those Bucs tidbits and more can be heard on the podcast.

Sadly, I agree. The unbelievably bad call wouldn’t have mattered if we stopped the fins at the end of the game.

  2. Louie Says:

Everybody I know is blaming the defense. That call was crap, but it was nullified because the Bucs had the lead late in the game.

I don’t blame the call for the loss, but I will call a bad call a bad call. That accounted for 10 pts but from what I can see, our team plays harder when playing catchup. I don’t think we play with the intensity in the second half down 3 instead of 13.

  4. Ian Says:

    I agree with Louie above.
Once the Bucs took the lead late in the fourth, everything that happened prior to that gets thrown out the window.

Hmmm, wasn’t the “not a catch” a first down? I wonder if we could have run the clock out and given up 0 points…. Yea, the call had no significance, what did we lose by, one point. I guess I am a “cop out” or is is “optimist.” I blame the call for 10 damn points!
