One Word For Bucs Defense: Bad

September 22nd, 2009

All around good guy, Rick Brown, aka Backwards Hat, of the Lakeland Ledger, breaks out the grim details of just how rotten the Bucs defense is.

Folks, it’s not pretty.

This Bucs defense, if it doesn’t improve (and mounting injuries suggest it may be awhile), it may be so scary that Lightning owner and horror movie baron Oren Koules could produce a flick about it.

Romo threw for 353 yards and the Cowboys had 462 total yards against Tampa Bay.

After talking all week about how that performance was an aberration, the Bucs came back with a defensive performance that was just as smelly.

On Sunday, Fred Jackson ran for a career-best 163 yards as the Buffalo Bills racked up 438 yards and 33 points.

For the non-math majors, that’s two games where the Bucs have given up a total of 900 yards and 67 points. That’s 450 yards and 33.5 points per game folks.

And we’re not talking about Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson the Bucs are going up against.

Yeah. Derrick Brooks couldn’t play for this sorry bunch. Rrrrriiiigggghhhhtttt.

Mr. Brooks should be greatful that he got cut. This would the worst thing for Brooks Hall of Fame career. To go out with a 1-3 win season would just have been awful. No matter what happens to Brooks he always comes out smelling like a rose.

not all of it was on the defense. leftwich threw a pick 6, and another pick returned to our territory that set up a field goal. we made an improvement to 220 passing yards given up. the run was what got us, but 42 yards was in garbage time when everyon was trying to strip the ball. we had plenty of chances this game offensively, and we didnt capitalize. bryant and faine were a huge loss in this game.
