Kareem Huggins Will Be OK

August 23rd, 2009

Former Hofstra running back Kareem Huggins, who was without a team last year, continues to impress.

The big guy from the little school continues to challenge for a roster spot. Kareem Huggins, for the second straight game, did nothing but impress but Bucs coaches, executives and yes, even the fans.

The rookie free agent averaged 3.1 yards a carry on 10 attempts with his longest being a 13-yard run.

“He showed some shake and bake,” said director of pro personnel Doug Williams.

But in the second half there wasn’t enough shake and bake for Huggins. He injured his right knee. He noticeably limped out of the Bucs locker room but dismissed his injury.

“I’ll be fine,” Huggins said with a smile.
