All-Around Sammie Does It All

August 15th, 2009

Bucs seventh-round draft pick Sammie Stroughter put a heck of a lot on film tonight.

The wide receiver showed some good hands and the ability to run crisp routes. He showed he could return kicks, and took a fierce hit on a punt return without coughing up the ball. (Bucs radio analyst Dave Moore called that play a rookie mistake because Stroughter “should have called for a fair catch.”)

But after all that, Joe was most impressed by Stroughter as a gunner on special teams.

The kid is a lock to make the team.

A lot was asked of Stroughter, and he did quite well. Not perfect, but it is pre-season…
