Kellen Winslow No. 5

July 2nd, 2009

One of the reasons the Bucs coughed up a high draft pick and shelled out of a lot of cash for Kellen Winslow is that the Bucs think he is an elite tight end.

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com is like-minded. In what are the dog days of summer leading up to the opening of training camps, little news is being made. So reporters have to make up news in a sense. Prisco is breaking down the top players at each position and has Winslow ranked as the No. 5 tight end.

Analysis: Now that he’s out of Cleveland and healthy he should revert to his 2007 numbers. He’s one of the best threats down the field of this group.

As Joe has stated before, if healthy, Winslow could be one of the top tight ends in the game. Joe just hopes his knee problems are a thing of the past.
