Would The Bucs Trade Up?

April 16th, 2009

Not too long ago, the Bucs flirted with acquiring bratty Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler. Of course, the price was steep but dozens of reports suggest the Bucs were about to pull the trigger on the deal.

If the Bucs were willing to give up the mortgage for Cutler, would the Bucs entertain trading up in the draft?

Joe isn’t so sure. The Glazer Boys are already saddled with a financial albatross of an English kickball team, so trading up and getting hammered with a nasty signing bonus for a high draft pick probably isn’t too enticing for Mark Dominik.

Mike Florio, the creator, curator and overall guru of ProFootballTalk.com suggests there are some teams wanting to trade down; Jacksonville especially so.

If teams are so desperate to trade down, maybe the price of those picks aren’t as steep as in years past?

At any rate, Florio discusses teams wanting out of drafting in the top 10.

How about this – trade with jacksonville for their pick and snag BJ Raji! What would they want in compensation? Alex Smith anyone?????

The Buc’s just need to pick the best player available at the spot. the rest will work it’s self out.
