April 24th, 2009

No way any Bucs fan will able to sleep tonight with the NFL Draft just hours away. You should be nervous.

To soothe you — and fire you up — Joe is offering a little draft therapy tonight at 10 p.m., with a live chat hosted by the best damn NFL Draft guru in Florida, Justin Pawlowski, of 620 WDAE-AM, The Sports Animal.

    Did you get a chance to watch the receivers competition on espn. Jordan Norwood really stood out. He had incredible hands. This guy was pulling in bullitt passes like it was nothing. With his hands only.

    I would sure like to see the Bucs add someone like this to the offense. He would be great as a quick strike 3rd down receiver. A Wes Welker type of player.

    No, but Joe saw some clips of Norwood at the combine. Joe is a footballholic and watched most of Penn State’s games so Joe knows all about Norwood’s abilities.

    It’s hard to believe Penn State (of all programs) had three dynamite receivers like Norwood, Derrick Williams and Deon Butler.

    FYI, Norwood’s dad, Brian Norwood, is the defensive coordinator at Baylor.

    Speaking of being a footballholic, the late great Chris Thomas claimed if you watched more than 15 hours of football a week during the season you needed therapy.

    Between Thursday night football (college or NFL), Friday night high school football, college football on Saturday, NFL on Sunday and Monday night, Joe figures, conservatively, he watches 27 hours of football per week.

    Thursday = three hours.
    Friday = three hours.
    Saturday = 12 hours.
    Sunday = six hours.
    Monday = three hours.

    I don’t have a problem. I can quit at anytime.
