Finally, Someone Calls It Like It Is

Finally, someone in the MSM admits that the Bucs hyperventilating over Josh Freeman is little more than a diversionary tactic.

Finally, someone in the MSM admit the Bucs' hyperventilating over Josh Freeman is little more than a diversionary tactic.

Joe has already written he believes (hopes?) that the signing of quarterback Bryon Leftwich will put to rest the Bucs’ collective erection for NFL bust-in-the-making Josh Freeman.

For the past couple of weeks Joe has written he believes (hopes?) this infatuation over Freeman was little more than a smokescreen.

Now, finally, someone in the MSM has come out and written it. And it comes from none other than Vacation Man of BSPN.com. Writing about the Leftwich signing, Vacation Man suggests inviting Freeman in for a workout now is nothing more than a dog-and-pony show.

The guess here is the Bucs still will let Freeman make his visit. Not because they’re going to draft him, but to continue the smokescreen and hope some other team thinks there’s still a chance they might. That way, someone ahead of the Bucs might take Freeman and the Bucs can get a player they really want and need.

Heck, if Jon Gruden still were running the show, the Bucs would have signed Brett Favre and Jeff Garcia, too. And Gruden still would go out and draft Freeman.

The only people that are spinning this Leftwich signing into a “we’re not going to draft Freeman” victory are those who have a “collective erection” over the new regime. It’s going to be bad, real bad (Lightning Bad). It’s sad when the Rays are the best run organization in the Bay Area.
