Morris Not In Rams Plans

Unless the Rams front office is blatantly lying, the Bucs likely wont be searching for a new defensive coordinator (again).

Unless the Rams front office is blatantly lying, the Bucs likely won't be searching for a new defensive coordinator (again).

Well, even the best can be wrong.

Tuesday, Adam Schefter of NFL.com, one of the top NFL writers in the country with few equals, reported Bucs defensive coordinator was a target of the Rams for their head coaching vacancy.

The next day, Wednesday, Morris was reported as having been surprised to learn of this. Even Rams beat writers thought this to be a surprising twist in the Rams coaching search.

Now it can be put to rest. Per Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, after speaking with Rams general manager Billy Devaney, wrote that the Rams do not have any interest in Morris.

Contrary to some reports, Devaney said the team does not plan to interview Tampa Bay assistant head coach Raheem Morris.

So now it appears that if the Broncos pass on Morris, the Bucs will have in effect secured their first victory of 2009.

Joe is happy and now hopes, so long as the Broncos select someone else, the Bucs can concern themselves with beefing up the Bucs front seven on defense.
