Word is Ike HIlliard will recover from the big second-quarter hit by Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill that sent HIlliard to the hospital with a concussion Sunday night. But the shot may garner a fine by league officials, Joe learned after the game.

There was some buzz around both locker rooms that HIll’s hit might have been too high. The helmet-to-helmet blast with Hilliard coming over the middle also put Seahawks’ Pro Bowl linebacker Lofa Tatupu on the shelf with a concussion.  He was trailing the play and helped sandwich Hilliard.

Hill was humbled by the play after the game.

“I went and apologized to him,” Hill said of Hilliard. “When I looked at him he was out. I didn’t mean for it to happen like that. But that’s the game.”

“I can’t gauge if it was a high [hit] or not,” Hill said. “That’s the game. Like I said, I apologized and that’s it. I’ll have to look at the tape.”
