Martin Fennelly Had a Rough Day

Suggesting Brian Griese is the answer at quarterback is a sobering thought to Joe.

Joe nearly spit out his coffee this morning when he read this: Martin Fennelly of the Tampa Tribune, who Joe likes a great deal, had to have a rough day yesterday. How else to explain Fennelly suggesting Brian Griese is the answer to the Bucs ills at quarterback?

He did a great job watching the Bucs’ defense silence the Falcons and their rookie quarterback, Matt Ryan. He did a fine job handing the ball to Warrick Dunn before Dunn ran 17 yards for a score and later when Earnest Graham took it 68 yards for the game-sealing touchdown.

Because Joe admires Fennelly, Joe will not stain Fennelly’s reputation here nor tear apart Griese (at this moment).

Joe thinks that Fennelly is simply blinded by the light of a Bucs win. Being overwhelmed by a win with Griese at quarterback is sort of like getting a phone number from a hot chick you met, only to call the number two days later and find out it’s a number for a Hillsborough County vice squad detective.
