Freeman Said He Could Have Played Yesterday

December 1st, 2011

Joe’s not worried about Josh Freeman starting on Sunday.

Speaking last night to host Steve Duemig on The Josh Freeman Show on WDAE-AM 620, Freeman said team doctors ordered an MRI on his injured shoulder on Tuesday and the results were good. Freeman said the MRI revealed “no tear” and just bruising, and he’s been “rehabbing profusely.”

Asked by Duemig if he could have played a game if there had been one scheduled Wedneday, Freeman said he could have played.

Again, Joe’s not sweating Freeman’s status. If nothing else, if he does play, perhaps the Bucs will be more inclined to pound the ball on the ground. You know, the thing that seems to work real well.

This is fantastic news. With Freeman back in practice from a rash of minor injuries to his throwing arm, Olsen may very well run the ball 25 times this game. Couple this with Carolina having what is possibly the worst starting DT tandem(Fua has been consistently bad and McClain has been nothing less than dreadful) in the NFL and a handful of injured back ups at LB and the Bucs should be running all day.

The only threats to our running game are Charlie Johnson, Greg Hardy and Dan Conner. But as weak as they are at DT we should have no problems getting great push to the second level and sealing the edges for Blount to work his magic on the secondary. We focus our runs off Center and Guard.

Should be a heck of a week for Blount.

  2. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Thomas 2.2 pointed out an interesting scenario that if (and probably when) we lose to Carolina, we can blame it on not having Freeman.

  3. OAR Says:

Yet, you’re not throwing in practice again today?

  4. McBuc Says:

Apple, don’t start listening to Thomas…

  5. NickinMelbourne Says:

Yeah now Olson will be forced to do what he should have done all year, pound the ball with Blount. Too bad it had to come to this.

  6. thomas 2.2 Says:

    Mcbuc:
Yeah, I have been way off in my predictions about this year and this team compared to you. Lol

Werent you one of the sheep who predicted an “obvious 13-3?”

  7. Gavster Says:

I was kind of hoping to see what Josh Johnson could do… With a semi decent team around him…

  8. BKNYfootballhead Says:

Oh, No! It’s now going to be more difficult on 3rd down for Freeman to throw the ball to a well covered receiver four yards shy of the 1st down marker. Maybe he’ll be more inclined to tuck the ball and run it for the 1st, instead of loafing in the pocket and staring down Winslow. That’ll help him work of those jelly rolls he’s sporting.

  9. stimpy Says:

I expect Blount wont be in on 3rd down situations. I also expect us to loose since we cant figure out what were doing or how to catch a pass.

  10. sandbagrudy Says:

Williams and Stewart along with Cam oh Cam are going to run this Defense into the ground talk about weak d tackles we have a rotation of turnstiles and a fat muffin man. This running back tandem breaks arm tackles

  11. McBuc Says:

No Thomas, I did not give a prediction, but mine would have been 9-7, not 13-3. Regardlese been pros, you conspiracy theory crap is tired, just like you negative attitude towards all things Bucs. Please go be a Jags fan like you have been saying.

  12. McBuc Says:

Thomas, I also find it funny that when people try to get you to respond after a win you disappear; however, when times are bad here you are…responding to everyone. It seems that you hope for the Bucs to lose, brcause you must live a petty little life.

  13. Mr. Lucky Says:

I don’t wish anything wrong with Josh Freeman but hey its time for Freeman to sit down for a week and clear his head. Too many INT’s recently. The reason(s) don’t matter: thumb, shoulder, Winslow, etc., Freeman just clear you mind and get back to your 2010 form; if possible.

  14. thomas 2.2 Says:

I have participated in nearly every open thread this year, so I obviously I have not disappeared during wins. The ones I missed were when I was at the games.

  15. Buzzsaw Says:

“The only threats to our running game are Charlie Johnson, Greg Hardy and Dan Conner.”

The other threats to our running game are Kellen Winslow and our offensive line — holding penalties and false starts. Especially when we get into scoring range.

  16. SteveK Says:

True dat, Thomas2.2 was all over the posts win or lose.

I distinctly remember a comment of his about Raheem violating his contract as K-ST’s D-backs coach to interview with the Glazers for the head job.

What moron wouldn’t give up a secondary coach position in the Big 12 for a chance to coach the Bucs?

    Thomas and crew:

Say the Bucs slide continues through the end of the season, could you see the Bucs trading back for more picks?

Potentially trading back so that the new Defensive Coordinator could employ their 3-4?

  17. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“I have participated in nearly every open thread this year, so I obviously I have not disappeared during wins.”

    ———

That is the biggest crock of sh!t I have ever heard. I can’t believe you are insulting our intelligence by saying that. Are you kidding me????? Besides an occasional post on an article about GMC, you disappeared until the SF game. You then disappeared after the NO game. Unfortunately, you’ve been very active thereafter. I am blown away that you have the audacity to make that statement!!!! Why lie, we all know the truth???

  18. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Please deny it, I would love to take the time to prove you wrong. I will seriously go back and count up all the posts after the wins. I will put my life on it that it is under 10. So go ahead punk, MAKE MY DAY.

  19. SteveK Says:

I Gots to know, Mista, I Gots to know.

  20. K2theSoldier Says:

I agree with Hawaiian Buc, Thomas you are a complete coward and now liar for giving us that crap. You only show up when Tampa is losing. I won’t take the time to go back and look at the posts, I’ll leave that daunting task to Hawaiian lol. What a miserable excuse for a fan you are Thomas. Along with a few others around here.

  21. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I see now that Thomas carefully worded it that he stayed active on the “open threads” when we were winning. You know damn well that’s not what anyone was talking about Thomas. We are talking about your daily Raheem, GMC, and Glazer hatred posts. So let’s see, you posted on all the open gameday threads, except the ones you went to the games on right? Let me take a wild guess: you went to the NO game, the Atlanta game, and the Indianapolis game. So that leaves the Minnesota game as the only other game that we won. How much do you want to bet that 90-95% of all your posts were in the first 2.5 quarters of that Minnesota game? You know, when you were confident we were going to lose. So yes, technically, you have continued to post even on wins (make that win) on the open threads. But you and I both know you ran away like a school girl the week after a win. But go ahead, spin the facts like only you can do. I can’t wait to wake up in the morning and read it.

  22. Hawaiian Buc Says:

And the really pathetic thing is that you are now happy that you have little followers that agree with you. 90% of these same followers were gone last year, yet they are all out in full force now. You now have a posse, congratulations.

  23. jb Says:

Is it REALLY necessary to attack one another here? Isn’t the comments section here to provide a place to comment on the article posted or the team. It seems with every loss we have more naysayers & homers attacking one another for their take on this team.
I suppose losing only exacerbates the issue, but somebody sooner or later has to man up and take the high road!
You’ve got only 9 outta 22 responses to this article Joe posted that are related to the article. I mean……….C’MON MAN!!!!!!

  24. Joe Says:

    jb:

Just shows the passion of some Bucs fans. Joe’s of the mind this is healthy, and, refreshing.

No, the attacking part is not cool. Just shows that people do care.

  25. Thomas 2.2 Says:

For the record: I was at both the Falcons and Saints game. I did not go to the Indy game an participated in the open thread as well as Minnesota.

I have already addressed this accusation once that there during 2 weeks earlier this year I was working out of the state and country – I was able to comment once or twice but didn’t have the typical time to visit the site.

Just a warning: I have an event for my daughter on Sunday, so win or lose I will be unavailable until the evening – this is of course a game I predict that they will win. Life interferes with buc talk on occasion folks. There is no conspiracy here.

  26. McBuc Says:

I was not refering to Thomas not being here at all, just that he does not respond when people like HB and others call him out…unless the Bucs are losing. Thomas may also be on the boards during wins, but very little.

  27. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Sure Thomas, we believe you.

  28. Hawaiian Buc Says:

We will all be holding our breath in anticipation of reading your truly insightful posts. I can’t wait to hear how bad Raheem is, how we either beat a bad team (so the win doesn’t count) or lost and Raheem must be fired immediately because it is 100% his fault. I don’t even think I’ll visit the site, because I just can’t live without such wonderful commentary.

  29. BigMacAttack Says:

Thomas, I wouldn’t believe a single word that comes out of your mouth. You are everything that is wrong with this country.
