Hammy Holds Back Lavonte David

He joins two other wounded Bucs

The thought of a gimpy Lavonte David is enough to send Joe for a rare Wednesday night beer run.

David was “limited” at practice today on the fields of One Buc Palace. That’s not good, especially since it’s so rare for David to miss time.

Compounding the worry here is the forecast for kickoff conditions of 42 degrees and rainy in Chicago on Sunday. That’s hardly hamstring-friendly weather.

Also limited in practice today was Alterraun Verner (hammy) and Doug Martin.

Dam! That’s the last thing we need. He’s still a beast even at 70%. But JOE is right. Cold weather and injuries like that don’t mix well. Hope he recovers.

Sometimes elite athletes also heal in an elite fashion. Let’s hope that’s the case with LVD.

Either way, just want him healthy and on the field.

    Is Lovie blowing smoke…

Just get LVD healthy! No need to rush him back in a lost season.

Would be great If he can play though.

  7. pick6 Says:

would be nice if this was a blessing in disguise. LVD has talked in the past about trying to make plays in this system instead of letting the plays come to him as this system is designed to do. maybe a bum wheel will get him to force the issue a little less and lead to some more success within the framework of the scheme. that is an extremely optimistic outlook on my part, though. who exactly are our backup OLBs at the moment anyways?

The one I do not want to see on injury list on Sunday is Verner, even more so than David. Verner has had some bad moments, but has been above average generally. This Crezdon Butler guy will get toasted against the likes of Marshall and Jeffrey.

  9. DB55 Says:

Back up lb = Lemon, fletcher and ????

  10. unbelievable Says:

Yea if Verner and LVD are both out, then NO ONE will be saying this defense has improved come Monday morning.

54 is one less than 55!

    NOOOOO !

  13. Jim Says:

One less than 55 is pretty damn good.

My favorite Buc by far, David cannot be stopped. He will play and make plays like he does every Sunday.
