Vintage Jameis Dedication

Cameron Brate tells a Jameis story

Bucs fans are in for an absolute treat tomorrow as they’ll hear tight end Cameron Brate on the Ira Kaufman Podcast.

Brate had a few fantastic stories, one of which involved America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

Joe is going to paraphrase here to keep it simple, and you can listen to the whole episode tomorrow.

Brate was among the Buccaneers who went to the campus of Texas A&M this offseason to train with Jameis and get in plenty of throwing work.

So what does that mean? Perhaps a morning session in the weight room followed by lunch, followed by an afternoon of tossing the rock around for 90 minutes or so and hitting the showers?

No, sir. Not with Jameis in charge, said Brate.

The Bucs’ big-money tight end said he went into the trip commitment with low expectations but left drained and impressed. Brate explained that Jameis hand-crafted a full eight-hour, daily workout itinerary for all the attendees. The day started at 8 a.m. and Jameis was the lead — as everyone stayed in the big house Jameis rented for the crew.

Damn cool to hear about this coordination and level of detail by Jameis. And you will hear it all and a whole lot more tomorrow.

Jameis might get outplayed, but he’s not going to get outworked.

Now that’s L-E-A-D-E-R-S-H-I-P Joe. It’s GRRREAT to see Jameis maturing & really taking charge. That’s exactly what this Bucs’ team needs. Hopefully DJax made it there also.

Praying the team can take the next step this season 🙏🏽

its not just about THIS season. keep this core group of leaders, led by jameis, TOGETHER… AND REAP THE BENEFITS!!! winning is inevitable. NOBODY will outwork jameis.. nobody

“Jameis might get outplayed, but he’s not going to get outworked.”

And this is why so many of us still love him.

In addition to sharpening his and his teammates skills he created a nice tax deduction. Renting a big house for everybody to stay…sounds like a business expense to me.

We tend to concentrate on #3 to DJAX but this work can help everybody. And an extra benefit is the bonding that must have taken place after the workouts in the big house.

I’m glad the idiots that want to run him off are just idiots, whom no one that matters will ever care about anyway. Warren Sapp’s favorite morons want Jameis gone.

I wouldn’t trade JW straight-up for any other QB in the NFL, not one.

The only one that I’d even consider for more than one second would be Aaron Rodgers, but as Jameis is way, way, way younger, I wouldn’t even trade JW for ARod …

Jameis may not have been a top 3 QB (Rodgers, Brady and Brees) in his first 3 years, but he has the arm talent, skill, football IQ and most importantly the drive, determination and desire required to be a top 3 QB going forward and to go down as one of the all-time greats. I love the young man!

  8. BoJim Says:

Gotta love Jameis. Brate’s a hard worker. Was Desean there?

I’m with you nflnut I love our QB an to know Brate Howard An Evans are all locked in for years to come is exciting an hopfully we get our RB this draft oh An I forgot Godwin we should have a great Offense for years our online should be intact as well I’m excited

  10. NFLNut Says:

^ I agree … Jameis/Evans/Howard/Brate/Godwin + Marpet/Donovan/Jensen is a future title winning and stat-compiling “great 8” and if we can add a quality RB in the draft to those 8 players, I’ll be thrilled!

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

This is what guys like Mike Glennon lacked.

I love how Jameis is moving forward, not concerned about a suspension, but is smart enough not to talk about it to the press.

What I’m wondering is this: was Fitz there as well? Seems to me, he needs to develop chemistry too, especially if there IS a suspension.

  12. unbelievable Says:

That’s one hell of a young core of players for this team on offense…

@Bonzai I would guess Fitz was not there simply for the fact that he’s much older that the rest of those guys, and I believe has a family (I know Evans does too, and Jameis has a baby, but they are way younger)

  13. Brandon Says:

I wonder if Jameis coordinated the lunch catering and had the guys all eating W’s.
