Time For Freeman To “Change The Clock”

December 7th, 2012

Pat Kirwan, the respected former Bucs scout, Jets coach, and Jets personnel executive, now a host on NFL Radio and an analyst for CBS Sports, says the Eagles are so ugly on defense they didn’t want to tackle in their secondary against Dallas last Sunday.

Kirwan goes on in this video to share a conversation with Dan Marino, where they watched Josh Freeman and agreed Freeman needs to “change the clock in his head,” essentially acknowledging that he has a little less time to throw but still enough time. Kirwan suggested shorter passing routes to compensate for the bending of Freeman’s offensive line.

This is one of Kirwan’s best breakdowns of the season, and his game prediction is rather soothing.

    “Haven’t even given up a 100-yd rusher”

Uh, Adrian Peterson would like to have a word with you, Pete.

Didn’t Alfred Morris have 100 yards also.

  3. fridgebob Says:

Alfred Morris of the Redskins, as well.

Clock issues is nothing new. It has been talked about over and over. When he is under pressure he has always held the ball to long or thrown wild.

    I think it’s the Eagle’s that havn’t allowed a 100 yard rusher.

I think he need’s to role out and throw deep. The problem with his ding and dunk game is he use’s bad machinic’s.When he role’s out he can still throw it 60 yard’s setting his feet or on the run.We need to go deep, once we hit one of them.Martin can take over and it’s game over. We’ve seen enough dink and dunk over the year’s.Shoot I’d rather see a see a 60 yard bomb on 3rd and 20.Trying to (A)catch the ball (B)get a DPI(C)let the defender pick it but tackle him on the spot.Than a doomed dump down. Our punter better kick it out of bound’s.The kick return coverage is bad probably because they try to block punt’s.Why does it seem that the other team allway’s can at least return KO’s to the 20 but we see first contact at the 5 and are lucky to get it past the 10.Anytime the Buc’s or the opposition line up to KO or Punt I get a bad feeling.

Freeman’s strength is the long game, the problem is that he doesn’t loft the ball correctly, he throws a line drive. Airing the ball out, would “change the clock.”

His short quick throws are not his forte, witness him bouncing the ball off of Lorigs shoulder pad last week.

Sounds like the Iggles are not in a good position to win.

    33-20 Bucs win!
