Morning Cup Of Joe

January 30th, 2023

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

Brock Purdy might need Tommy John surgery. But quarterbacks are able to bounce back much quicker than baseball pitchers. [PFT]

Vic Fangio hired by Miami. [CBS]

Remember last year when folks laughed at Nick Sirianni? Who is laughing now? [FOX Sports]

Jalen Hurts may mean Nick Saban finally coached a Super Bowl champion quarterback. Or was it Lincoln Riley? [NFL]

Tua won’t participate in Pro Bowl activities this week because he is still in concussion protocol a month after he last played. Joe’s tellin’ ya, if the Dolphins have a chance to sign Tom Brady, they will drop this Tua quicker than lit charcoal. (Yes, Joe knows what was reported yesterday. If the Dolphins bank on Mr. Scrambled Eggs to lead them to the playoffs over a guy like Brady, then that dumb GM of theirs needs to be launched. Bad enough he picked Tua over Justin Herbert.) [BSPN]

Michelle Tafoya (who?) gets awfully catty about Michelle Guerrero. [Awful Announcing]

Trevor Lawrence got caught up in the crypto scam, too. [Front Office Sports]

So you are telling Joe colleges don’t like it when school employees take football players to strip clubs in the middle of the night using school-owned vehicles? In what world? [CBS News]

Adult film actress does coke, bites cop, runs half-naked down the street, wrecks car. Sounds like a full day. [Outkick]

Great white shark bites head off scuba diver. [FOX News]

This seems like a well-built house. That rig bounced off it like it was a brick wall. Sounded like Carmela Soprano reacting. [TikTok]

Crypto – finally being exposed for what it is, just Mary Kay for boys, another MLM Ponzi scheme. It was supposed to replace fiat currency man!

Michelle Guerrero is not the first name of a BSPN eporter who said she had a miscarriage while on camera. Local reporter, Sara Walsh, said the same thing happened to her while she was doing a college gameday in Tuscaloosa and she lost the baby. She finally did give birth to twins and then BSPN promptly fired her before she returned from maternity leave in one of their purges where they kept a lot of the no talent garbage but launched much of the true talent. Sounds like a wonderful company to work for, full of a lot of hypocricy and BS from all the stories I have read concerning those who have worked for it in the past. Ms. Walsh is now at the NFL network and does a dang good job. I enjoyed hearing her interviews with the Big Dog on WDAE before he got sick and went off the air.

The fix is in – what a horrible Sunday as we watch gambling and tv eyes take over the best game on the planet

Anyone not convinced after yesterday…..I have some waterfront land in S FL available

I dont know what was worse. The 49ers literally giving up with 26 minutes left in the game or the biased officiating in favor of KC. How does the NFL not fire that officiating crew and how do the 49ers not fire the HC?

The NFL really went backwards yesterday. Will be interesting to see how super bowl viewership is impacted.

  5. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Nice Saban demoted Jalen Hurts when he was at Alabama in favor of Tua, so Hurts left Alabama and resumed his college career at Oklahoma.

Leighroy. Sounds better coming from you than me. But yeah. Just another get rich speculation scheme, leaving the last to get in or out to lose almost everything.

And for those saying the dollar has no value. The federal government has the power to tax. And the full faith and power of America that stands behind it. That is why it is still the pre-eminent world currency. Just because it is paper/cloth doesn’t diminish that. It isn’t in the same world as the full faith and credit of a digital network of block chain computers and their overlords.

    – I don’t know why anyone is surprised by horrendous 1-sided officiating in the NFL anymore?

It gets worse and worse every year and the league refuses to address it, and instead makes excuses for it. You don’t think all the networks have ex-officials brought into the broadcasts now is part of the act?

    – Tofoya just sounds bitter AF. Probably because Guerrero is a total smoke show and Tofoya never was. Not to mention Guerrero kinda paved the way for her… but women sure do love to tear each other down.

    – lol at that car bouncing off the house like that !

    @ Joe

    I agree.

I don’t believe a single word coming out of Miami or any other NFL team this time of year…

It’s all just smoke and mirrors. Why would any team tell the public what they are doing?
