Morning Cup Of Joe

August 5th, 2022

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

Is Matt Stafford’s arm bad enough that the Bucs could trade Kyle Trask for a guard or center? [PFT]

A.J. Brown is still bitter at the Titans. [CBS]

Crows may have center problems, too. [Yahoo!]

Dak Prescott said he studied how best not to talk to fans. [Awful Announcing]

Let’s check in with Auburn football to see how things are going. Oh, not so well? The new star quarterback didn’t report for camp because he was in police custody. What exactly did he do? Uh, huh. Uh, huh. Welp. Maybe he should have picked a quicker rig to bolt from cops — other than a moped. Joe is guessing those crazies in Auburn are just taking this incident in stride. [BroBible]

If Vin Scully graduated college this past May, would he even get an announcing job? [New York Post]

Cracker Barrell rolls out plant sausage and people go mental. Understandably so. That’s like calling a bratwurst a salad. [Outkick]

Trask is not the answer, im sorry.

We need to work on getting Will Levis next draft, and yes its going to cost, and it will hurt at first….but we’re working on building a dynasty here!

  2. westernbuc Says:

Vin Scully would’ve had to transition if he wanted a shot at announcing in 2022

That seal is “one bad mutha!” said in the voice of Shaft, aka Richard Roundtree. Google it younguns!

  4. Irishmist Says:

That girls butt got the seal of approval.

    @ MadMax

Perhaps your right – but what are you using to judge Trask so harshly?

The 40 snaps he played last preseason against/with 3rd and 4th stringers?

Let’s at very least give him another preseason game or two before we make any serious judgements…

    “MadMax Says:
    Trask is not the answer.”

What facts do you base that on? Trask having one up-and-down-day in Wednesday’s practice with camp meat dropping his passes?

What were your comments after Tuesday’s practice when Joe’s notes showed Trask was 4-for-6 with 2 TD passes?

What did you say when Matthew Stafford had an abysmal TD:INT ratio of 13:20 his first year playing?

Did you think Atlanta was smart in trading Brett Favre after playing in only one game his rookie season and throwing 2 picks?

Max, have you ever wondered why no NFL team ever calls you for advice on draft day?

    LOL.

  7. Alanbucsfan Says:

Vin Scully could make a Dodger dog hot dog commercial sound poetic with his trademark- “Farmer John sausage is easternmost in flavor and westernmost in texture”

  8. Captain Oblivious Says:

    @Alanbucsfan

As I recall it was “Eastern most in quality, western most in flavor”. I can still hear Vin’s voice in that commercial.

Being from LA I listened to Vin call a lot of Dodger games. I remember one against Kansas City(?) when Bobby (?) Wine collided with Cookie Rojas attempting a double plan and Vin announced; “The daze of Wine and Rojas”.

  9. NeverGIVEup Says:

More like Gabert to the Rams.

Start Griff and let Trask come in if and when Griff fails.

Who needs a GOAT when your team is a BEAST.

No more pretending to worship a false god.

    Let’s Roll
