Nick Wright’s NFL Tiers

November 5th, 2021

FS1 personality Nick Wright.

It seems a co-host of a national hollering show ranked NFL teams in tiers at the sort-of-midway point of the season.

Nick Wright of “First Things First,” seen weekday mornings on FS1, listed NFL teams from worst to first in a tier system. For example, his tier for the dregs of the NFL include the Lions, Texans and Jags. The Jets, Giants, sad Dolphins and WTF make up the next-worst tier, and so on.

Wright has the Bucs listed in the third-best group he called “Super Bowl or bust,” along with the Rams and Bills.

Like the Bucs, the Rams seem all-in for 2021. And the Bills, Wright said, have their best opportunity to get to the Super Bowl, which Wright believes is wide open for Buffalo this winter.

This was recorded Wednesday, clearly before the news broke that drama queen quarterback Aaron Rodgers lied to Packers shareholders and fans, claiming he had taken the jab. Now, as a result of catching “The Sickness”, Rodgers will surely miss one game this week and maybe more.

Wright has the Packers and Cardinals in a two-team tier just above the Bucs. The Cowboys are his stand-alone favorite.

Joe thinks it is fair to say the Packers are probably now on the same level as the Bills, Bucs and Rams when you factor in Rodgers might miss a couple of games, which hopefully results in the Packers joining the Bucs with two losses.

Getting the vaccine doesn’t mean you are immune. It simply means you are much less likely to need hospitalization or to die.

  2. Eddie Marz Says:

These lists mean nothing, Nick had Brady retired years ago. He changes his mind like the wind. The Bucs haven’t hit full stride yet, when they do “ watch out”. GO BUCS!

  3. Anonymous Says:

Cowboys play in the worst division in football and haven’t beaten a good team and somehow ranked #1?? Cardinals and Rams have best resumes and then Bucs and packers. Put cowboys in tier with bills Titans and ravens

  4. Show Me the TDs Says:

Rodgers never said that he “took the jab”. Fake news! He said that he was immunized. Huge difference. I am certain that Joe has read the statement from Rodgers Why put out more misinformation?

  5. Show Me the TDs Says:

    BTW, how old is Brady?

Did Innoculations, or vaccines eliminate other Viruses? No, Rubella, Small pox, Ebola, meseales, polio, and tuberculosis are still around, let alone bacterial pathogens. True, some have been beat back, but all of them, plus still more not listed here are unfortunate elements of our earthly biosphere. Understand the Covid-19 virus is now here to stay. No needle jab will ever make this Chinesse manufactured scourge disappear. Understand further that Covid-19 was conceived, developed, and released intentionally as a Chinesse bioterror attack, worse still our government’s National Institute of Health provided gain of function research funding to the very Wuhan lab that produced the Covid-19 pathogen that plagues the world today. This at the behest of Dr. Faucci, who promptly lied about it to Congress. Dr. Faucci has been referred for criminal prosecution as a result. So, let’s get off Aaron Rodger’s, or anyone eleses back about refusing government mandated vax jabs. Think for yourself, and act accordingly.
    LFG Bucs
    LETS GO BRANDON!

  7. Kentucky Buc Says:

Nick Wrong is terrible. Terrible. Did I say terrible. In the words of Chuck B. Turrible .

  8. Razor Ramone Says:

How do these blowhards get these jobs? Cowboys will not win the SB!! Go Bucs!!!

  9. Jonny Says:

Those hating on Cowboys being ranked#1, why? They beat a good Vikings team (that should have beaten Cards and Bengals if not for missed last minute chip shot FGs) without their best player. Our defense on the other hand has pathetic showings even against backup QBs. I don’t care of Bucs beat Cowboys in week 1, they are better until they lose some games they were supposed to win. I hate Nick Wright too, he is a Bucs hater, but in this instance he is not way off.

  10. Listnfrmafar Says:

Wow Anonymous is right, I looked at the Cowboys schedule and other than the Bucs & Chargers (iffy team), Cowboys have played the bottom of the barrel in the NFL, in all fairness Pat’s are making a run. Looks like other than AZ they have a pretty easy road to the playoffs. It does appear their schedule is the reason they look dominant. I guess one could say the same for the Bucs. The Bill’s, Saints and Indy will be the Bucs test.

We have all been fooled by innuendo like Rodgers said:
I’ve been immunized. There’s guys on the team that haven’t been vaccinated.

I find it funny that there are fans on this site somehow supporting those two statements from Rodgers as being anything but an attempt to deceive the people he was talking to.

Are you naive or support Rodgers deliberately fooling those reporters?

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

Roger’s was under the microscope, catch 22, if he says he not vaccinated he would be scrutinized so he did his best to dodge the question and apparently his fiancee is a little wacked and he’s being led around by his Johnson. She eats raw garlick almost everyday it must be fun sucking face with her.

  13. Bucschamp Says:

    Odell Beckham to bucs?

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

Beckham is overrated and a virus in the locker room. There are no premadonas on the Bucs, don’t need him. Let the Saints pick him up or Atlanta. Let him ruin that team. I can see him possibly going to Seattle.

  15. SOEbuc Says:

Joe, when you start putting these Nick Wright articles up you are putting yourself down.

  16. Jeff Says:

Arizona is a pretender. About to be exposed over the next 10 games

  17. Anonymous Says:

Well getting back to the article at hand…

I haven’t yet broke the NFL down to tiers, but this season there is a distinct “HAVES” and “HAVE NOTS” which has led to some pretty crappy, unwatchable games this season. The AFC has a dogfight at the very top, but these teams rarely play one another. The NFL has Buffalo and little else, unless you enjoy watching the meltdown of KC.

  18. Kev@Inverness Says:

JimBuc2, snuck your cute ‘let’s go Brandon’ in there huh. You seem to forget this is a sports blog. How about keeping your political babbling & bias to yourself!!!!

  19. Show Me the TDs Says:

    Let’s go Brandon!!!

  20. Leighroy Says:

National honks love them some cowboys bc it pays the bills, forget accuracy. Honestly the top 3 tiers should all just be combined as one. There isn’t a runaway favorite and it’s Super Bowl or bust for anyone up there.

  21. Kev@Inverness Says:

    JimBuc2 & Show Me the TD’s……No, FU!!!

  22. Listnfrmafar Says:

So Kev, when you say FU is that like Gruden calling Glaziers c-sucker? I find that much more offensive than writing Let’s go Brandon.

  23. SB Says:

    Let’s go Brandon!

  24. Kev@Inverness Says:

    Listnfrmafar, sorry sweetie.

  25. Listnfrmafar Says:

Kev are you using the term “sweetie” as a way to emasculate me? I find that very offensive also and I am sure the LGBTQ community would to.

  26. Ed Says:

I would rank all the one loss teams together, Cowboys certainly don’t deserve to be rated above Rams or Cardinals. I would rate the Bucs in next tier because of injuries, defense not up to last year, and Brady off at times
Problem is, Brady usually comes back after an off game, hasn’t really had an outstanding game in a few weeks. Also, with the penalties and spotty at best defense, Brady has to play an almost perfect game to beat a top level team.

  27. unbelievable Says:

I’d put the Bills, Rams, Cardinals and Packers in one tier above us.

They’ve all beat good teams. We haven’t. Yet.

  28. Beeej Says:

The few studies that have been done conclude GETTING the covid provides better resistance than the vax. In either case, it starts to wane after 6 months

  29. Scooter Says:

Hope Jordan Love Plays great, but packers get 2nd lost. Rooting for San Fran to Give Arizona 2nd lost. Rams match up good with Bucs, hope someone knocks them off in playoffs.

  30. unbelievable Says:

    yikes SB….
