Morning Cup Of Joe

June 18th, 2021

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

The Bears have put in a bid to buy the soon-to-close Arlington (Heights) International racetrack. And then, build a football stadium. Smart idea. Hey Stu Sternberg, have you heard of “Derby Lane?” [Chicago Tribune]

Pat Mahomes thinks his toe is OK. That wasn’t the problem in the Super Bowl dude. [PFT]

Best trades of the offseason. [CBS]

Bears tight end Jimmy Graham survives nasty car wreck. [Yahoo!]

Andy Reid trolls Le’Veon Bell. [NFL]

Joe Mixon peeved at NFLPA over protocols for players who don’t have their V-cards. Wonder if he even knows who his players’ rep is? [TheBigLead]

A bit late on this but it sure smells like someone really wants to bring former Bucs assistant Herm Edwards down at Arizona State. [The Athletic]

[Not going down this dumb road yet again. If you persist on pushing this braindead agenda, Joe is confident you can find other sites willing to read your pablum. — Joe]

  3. D-Rome Says:

I did not hear about the cable car accident prior to today. That’s one of the worst ways to go. The police chief said the following and I could not agree more:

“I would like to underline the absolute inopportunity of publishing the images that portray the last dramatic moments of life of the passengers of the cable car that crashed on May 23 on Mottarone, for the due respect that we are all required to bring to the victims, to the pain of their families, to the condolences of an entire community.”

Translated from Italian but I agree with the sentiment. For the Italian news to publish that video is disgraceful.

  4. Steven007 Says:

Ha, I didn’t even get a chance to read the latest silliness from the delusional Ghost of Bill and Ted! Oh wait I can just check yesterday’s posts. And the previous days. And the previous days… Dude must have a serious reading comprehension problem if he wasn’t able to disseminate what Joe has written prior about his habits. Ghost, Joe has given you an unusually long leash. Figure the rest out. As I said before if you don’t get help at Charter, get help somewhere.

  5. NashvilleBuc Says:

    Thank you Joe!!!!!!!!!
….for the great vids, distractions, football news, weird headlines and for the ghostbusting.

  6. Joe Says:

Oh wait I can just check yesterday’s posts. And the previous days.

No mention of Mad Cow disease.

  7. SB Says:

I Completely agree DRome! Flippin’A. The entire world just got to see those peoples’ last seconds of life. Disgraceful! to say the least.

  8. Joe Says:

    You are welcome! 👍

  9. SB Says:

Also Joe thanks for the neutering of ‘Ghost’.

  10. Steven007 Says:

SB, Ghost is like the Ndog of covid conspiracy BS. Just replace Jameis with spike proteins/mad cow and he’s the same one note, redundant, myopic, scaredy-cat of this particular daily post. Apparently zero self-awareness. And unlike Ndog most of his crapola is simple copy paste garbage.

And Joe, thanks for the heads up. Mad cow! Oogly boogly!

  11. Steven007 Says:

Rome, ugly stuff. At least the impact was behind the relief and not visible.

  12. Steven007 Says:

One last thing about Ghost. For now. When you have taken to constantly having to remind people that you’re not referencing Alex Jones, you know you’ve got a problem.

  13. Joe Says:

    Apparently zero self-awareness.

Or that a business having a collective bargaining agreement with a union is unconstitutional. LOL

  14. Steven007 Says:

Joe, exactly. I am guessing his post this morning was referring to the Joe Mixon article. In which the writer clearly lays out the case against Mixon in this particular argument. Of particular note being the collective bargaining agreement, haha. Mixon and Ghost both need to understand what collectively bargained means.

  15. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

I will continue to pray for the lives, helath and safety of my life long favorite football team, the World Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans.

I will also pray for the lives, health and safety of the squad at JoeBucsFan, Ira, Lee and Isbetts (steven007)

  16. Steven007 Says:

Ghost, we all wish you well. I think. Certainly I do. Hopefully you’ve gotten the message about fear mongering and repetitiveness/redundancy. And I can assure you though I am a Steven, I am not the Steven half of the Joe’s.

  17. mg Says:

That guy was” just a bit outside” of the cross walk.

  18. mark2001 Says:

I believe the Bucs organization is engaged in a conspiracy to win back to back Superbowls. And count me in.

  19. unbelievable Says:

    “Ghostbusting” hahaha, nice one NashvilleBuc!
