Wagering With Ira

September 18th, 2020

Handicapper.

Follow along as JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman makes three NFL picks each week against the spread.

Point spreads courtesy of betMGM app. You may follow various point spreads courtesy of VegasInsider.com.

UNCLE IRA

Buffalo -5.5
at Miami

The Dolphins don’t have enough weapons to challenge one of the NFL’s premier defenses.

Jacksonville
at Tennessee -7.5

Don’t look now, but Gardner Minshew just might be the real deal.

Baltimore -7
at Houston

Baltimore’s on a mission following last season’s playoff flameout while the Texans already miss DeAndre Hopkins.

JOE

Kansas City -8.5
at Los Angeles Chargers

Chargers are losing guys left and right and there is no way Tyrod Taylor can keep up with Pat Mahomes.

San Francisco -7
at New York Jets

Jimmy GQ will snap out of it. The Jets were horrible on offense last week, and just lost that nitwit Le’Veon Bell with a hamstring injury. San Francisco’s defense may be better than Buffalo’s.

Carolina
at Tampa Bay – 8.5

Joe is nervous as hell about this game. Bucs passing game was too rusty for Joe’s liking and the team *still* can’t run even though it tries (which it shouldn’t do if its rushing is this bad). Frankly, this game wreaks of an upset but Joe thinks the Bucs win but don’t cover.

Last week: Ira: 2-1,  Joe: 1-2.

Season record: Ira: 2-1,  Joe: 1-2.

When was the last time the Bucs were 8.5 point favorites, even at home.

  6. Miller5252 Says:

This game for the Bucs needs to be taken seriously. Good chance they can lose it. They should win but the D needs to shut Carolina down to 14 points. Vita, Suh, Shaq and JPP need a big impact Sunday! Picking the Bucs but iffy on it.

    Long time, right?

  9. EA Says:

Vikings 3 point underdogs to colts, I’d throw some coin on them to cover, I think vikes win this one.

  10. Rod Munch Says:

The Joe’s better be wrong about this game – the Bucs need to come out angry and put a beatdown on the Panthers. If they don’t, if this is just the same old Bucs as always, then ugh, what’s the point…

I will say I felt a lot better about things before hearing Godwin might be out. WR depth is a huge concern, although Scotty Miller looking pretty good last week went a long way to making me feel better. If he’s legit and can at least be OK, then I think we’re OK for a week. But Watson, get that bum off the field because all that is going to happen is more INTs if you throw his way.

But I have confidence (for now) in Brady and want to see a good old 48-10 beatdown.

SB can you repost the link for your pickem league? Maybe do it weekly on this page? Me not good with cimputers.

Joe I think it would a fun idea if you let one of your faithful readers challenge both you and Irv with their own picks. I say give SB a shot for setting up the pickem thing every year…….Plus neither you or Irv have ever been good enough to steal picks from and bet on. Haha
