Wagering With Ira

Follow along as JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman makes three NFL picks each week against the spread.
Point spreads courtesy of betMGM app. Follow various point spreads courtesy of VegasInsider.com.
UNCLE IRA
Indianapolis -8
at Jacksonville
The Jags could be contenders for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft while the Colts welcome in Philip Rivers under center. Look for Indy’s powerful ground game to control the clock and the game.
Pittsburgh -6
at N.Y. Giants
Pittsburgh’s pitiful offense gets a major boost with the return of Ben Roethlisberger. The Giants, a year or two away from playoff contention, will have difficulty moving the ball against a stout defense.
Tennessee pick’em
at Denver
Losing Von Miller is a shattering blow for Denver, placing more pressure on Bradley Chubb to trigger the pass rush. NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry personifies Tennessee’s identity as one of the league’s most physical clubs.
JOE
Green Bay
at Minnesota – 2.5
Too many changes on Minnesota’s defense with a short offseason. And that defense will still be facing Aaron Rodgers, not Jordan Love.
Chicago
at Detroit – 3
Until proven otherwise, MVP Mitch Trubisky can only beat the Bucs. So long as Matt Stafford doesn’t get hurt (again), Detroit will put points on the board.
Philadelphia -6
at Washington
Carson Wentz over Dwayne Haskins all day any day.
Full list of this week’s spreads.

Had a huge lead on Ira midway through last season and darn if The Sage didn’t rally to beat Joe by one game last year!

Possibly. Wasn’t keeping track of yours. Do know Ira edged out Joe in the last week. Already bought him dinner. 🙂

“tickrdr Says:

Sh¡t foolishness & foolhardiness is always better in groups.
Tennessee
Denver (Pick ’em)
Tennessee – Business decisions will be made all day, Derrick Henry with 100+ yards to start the season with Conklin paving the way.
Las Vegas -3
Carolina
Vegas – 4 rookie starters on Defense for the Panthers. Christian McCaffrey vs the Raiders.
Indianapolis -8
Jacksonville
Indianapolis – Even if Quentin Nelson is out, this game could get ugly.
—————–
And my WTF are you thinkin pick
Seattle 1.5
Atlanta
Atlanta – I think peeps are sleepin’ on a Raheem Morris led defense.

For some reason, the Week 15 “Wagering with Ira” post from last December was not posted till gameday, and then the comments were closed for some reason, so I couldn’t post any picks for that day.
Anyway, I wound up 23-24-1 against the spread for the year.
So, congrats to Ira who beat me with 25-25-1 for the year.
Picking against the spread is a bear, and maybe I should not risk further embarrassment.
