The Arians Post-Bye-Week Record

October 21st, 2019

So how does the captain of the Buccaneers pirate ship perform after a bye week.

Shunning negativity and ugly visions, Joe researched the information this afternoon and came out smiling.

Arians was 4-1 following bye weeks as head coach of Arizona. (During his interim head coaching season of 2012 in Indianapolis, he took over after the bye week).

Joe does not believe in coincidences. There’s a reason Arians is 4-1. And the wins came in various fashions and were at different times of the regular season.

His lone post-bye-week loss came in 2014, a blowout to the Broncos, who made the playoffs that year.

Next Sunday, Arians gets a 3-4 Titans team with a backup quarterback. And anyone who watched the end of Sunday’s Titans-Chargers game knows Los Angeles so easily could have won. Joe still can’t believe the Chargers didn’t throw on the goal line with all that time remaining!

Anyway, facing the Titans after a bye is about as good a matchup as Arians could have hoped to get. They’re not a good team.

Keep the roll going, Bruce!

Watched Tenn yesterday, they rely on play action which relies on a running game, which the Bucs have feasted on. I don’t think Tannyhill can win in a shoot and the Bucs have had 2 weeks to come up with a gameplan. Bucs 34 Titans 24

  2. Tampabuscsbro Says:

We should be selling pieces and starting Ryan Griffin. and tanking this season for Burrow

  3. Son of Kobe Faker Says:

Bruce Arians would probably ‘get out of coaching’ if he had to give up play calling

    Joe

Any word if BA plans to incorporate a run game this week or maybe include Brate into the offense? Or will he just be throwing to Scotty Miller and Mike Evans to see how many interceptions they’ll allow?

  5. Jmon300@gmail.com Says:

We can do it we can freaking win its now or never Jameis!

  6. Zwak Says:

Griffin will never get a chance even though he should!

  7. 813bucboi Says:

JW vs another back up QB……oh boy….

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  8. Bogiedr Says:

What Zwak said … if we lose three more RG4 should start. If we are going to take a harf look at Burrow, need to know if Griffin is the back up, or is he good enough to keep the seat warm for Burrow? Easy way to increase cap space let Jameis walk.

  9. Bogiedr Says:

    Hard, not harf, duh!

  10. ClodHopper Says:

Back up QB vs Arians’ 4-1 record.

This has the makings of another game that is BA vs the culture. That stubborn bull of a culture aint going down without a fight.

Was hot to truck for Big Bruce to be our savior.I was ready for that 20 oz. steak of success and an expensive bottle of premium beer. Now I feel like I need some warm milk and old crackers from last Christmas.I thought Jameis would be saved by our large coaching staff. He looks as confident as a soldier being asked to stop a tank with a bb gun. LORD SAVE OUR BUCS –WE SURE CAN’T!!!!!!!

  13. NPRSageBoy Says:

Bucs vs any backup QB is a sure loss

  14. NPRSageBoy Says:

BA hasn’t proven he can heal the sick yet.

Raising the dead is well above his pay grade.

  15. JimmyJack Says:

This game should tell us a lot about what kind of team we have. We have seen Buc teams enter the same situation too many times. Quite a few times we’ve basically seen the team decide to pack it in for the year. The 2017 home get against the Pathers comes to mind. One of the worst efforts that’s ever graced a football field……..It could’ve(should’ve) been a big game for us and the team played like they barely gave a rats ass………Then to confirm we absolutely quit we go to New Orleans the next week and get the spit smacked out of us

    I don’t expect any repeats.

  16. Allbuccedup Says:

    4-2 after the bye!

  17. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Yes Tannihill is a backup, but much like Kyle Allen he is a better passer than the starter he replaced. Don’t be surprised to see him throw for 400yrds

  18. Anonymous Says:

LOL. Yeah the same lame azz golf cart loafing head coach who never lost to a rookie QB until he had a taste of the Licht way.

  19. Rayjay1122 Says:

    Titans will win easily.

  20. BucEmUp Says:

If Arians calls the plays and Bowles makes the corners press at the line from here on out, I bet they make the playoffs, If leftwich keps calling plays I dont think they win another game.

  21. King C Says:

I for one feel jobbed at missing out on Mariota v Winston #2

  22. Tye Says:

Titans are the better team… A good defense that may quite possibly top what the Panthers defense did to the Bucs..

  23. Buddy Says:

Bucco Bruce is such a fraud. All the way down to that duma$$ hat.

  24. diggler Says:

Scotty Miller is a dodger that guy is terrified to take a hit. how hes still on the team…. oh wait Licht drafted him… oooohhhh

  25. diggler Says:

What Jamies record after a bye Joe. I think its pretty terrible. If so then this game will be interesting and a huge tell if BA is really making a difference.

  26. T REX Says:

“Or will he just be throwing to Scotty Miller and Mike Evans to see how many interceptions they’ll allow?”

    buwahahahahahahaha

    Winston jilted lover strikes again.

    Gawd, you’re the worst.

  27. rrsrq Says:

The question is will they focus on stopping the run with Henry or will they be chasing receivers on crossing routes which I saw a lot of last week in the Titans v. Chargers game
