“The Hot Boys” And The Bucs

August 19th, 2019

Bucs fans will get a decent look at their opening day opponent tonight on Monday Night Football.

The 49ers are fired up about “The Hot Boys” coming to Tampa in less than three weeks.

Yes, it’s a stupid nickname for the reworked San Francisco linebackers corps led by Kwon Alexander. Kwon’s knee was carved up with his ACL repaired in November. He recently was cleared to practice in full pads and the reviews on his play and influence have Niners fans all hot in the pants.

Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee wrote all about Kwon’s impact, especially on second-year linebacker Fred Wagner.

Since signing Alexander to a four-year, $54 million contract, his high-octane personality has rubbed off on the rest of the linebackers, including Warner, who has become one of the loudest voices on the practice field. When stretching ends, Warner has regularly run to the other side of the field imploring his offensive teammates to match his energy for the day.

“Fred’s coming into his own,” defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said. “He wanted to, obviously, last year as a rookie, but having Kwon with him, because Kwon’s very vocal, it’s bringing out Fred. Fred’s very confident and just a good football player, so they do what a linebacker group is supposed to do, so I won’t pump them up for doing what they’re supposed to do. It’s a good group, though.”

So here come “The Hot Boys.” Joe will spare you more on the nickname and John Lynch raving about how Kwon is such an influential player. (C’mon, man, if he was that good, how did the Bucs so often suck so incredibly badly with him on the field).

Even with Nick Bosa banged up, there’s loads of love in the other Bay area for their revived defensive line and defense, which wasn’t bad last season. They even picked off Jimmy Garoppolo on five straight passes in practice last wee.

The Bucs won’t have it easy on opening day. But if they can’t beat San Francisco at home, then who can they beat?

“Shanahan is the key but dont have the tools

dont think jimmy G is healthy enough for Shanny to beat us with. no inside tackles rb

    34-17 Bucs win

i think our weakness will be ground and pound offenses like Baltimore

STRONG OFFENSIVE LINES WILL DESTROY US”

  2. 6Gawd Says:

lol its a reference to an older rap group… not surprised an older group of gentlemen wouldn’t get the reference to that group. Silly name none the less but there is the explanation for the guys who don’t get where “Hot Boyz” came from.

  3. Rayjay1122 Says:

I don’t know about hot boys but I do know they will be hot. Early September in Tampa. Hot hot hot.

  4. tmaxcon Says:

he could always talk and fire up people but finishing in the 4th quarter and winning are just not his thing…. it takes longer than one year to recover from his time with cancer93… kwon is all mouth just like his mentor cancer93

  5. Kobe Faker Says:

    “the betting line is

    Tampa -1

    total 49”

  6. Pittsshore Says:

The Hot Boys will melt in RayJ. They are lucky it’s a 4:30 kickoff

  7. NOSBOS Says:

Kobe are you serious bro, do you hear yourself??? This defense is suited to deal with any style of offense. Please try ground and pound with us this year. Do you realize how much girth Vea,Suh,Allen,Nunez-Roches and Ledbetter equate to. Yea good luck with that.

  8. NOSBOS Says:

Put this in your pack, screen save it to remind me if I’m wrong later in the season. “No one and I mean no one will rush for a 100 yards on Tampa this season”. Bank on that.

  9. ATLBucs Says:

(C’mon, man, if he was that good, how did the Bucs so often suck so incredibly badly with him on the field).
Kwon is certainly an emotional guy but he’s severely tackling challenged

  10. Phil Says:

    We need to start fast.

  11. DB55 Says:

The only thing hot about kwon is his mom. HELLO! 🥁

  12. Ra'Shad Says:

I need for Kwon to be a tad more original. Demarcus Lawrence dubbed Dallas D- Line as the Hot Boyz last season. Got’s to be quicker kwon.

  13. Ndog Says:

The Bucs won’t have it easy on opening day. But if they can’t beat San Francisco at home, then who can they beat?

There’s good ole Debbie Downer again. I knew you wouldn’t let us down and gone article without being negative, good on ya.

So if we lose week one the seasons over right?

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Kwon is going to excel in his career. How many players have Tampa fans said were no good, then they went on to be good elsewhere?

Kwon needed to strengthen his tackling, yes, but here’s the thing: Tampa fans always discount development. ALWAYS. His tackling could be improved.

Now do I think it will be when we play them? Possibly marginally. But we’re lucky we don’t play them late in the season.

And Kobe is probably wrong about quality offensive lines.

  15. Ndog Says:

But let me guess if we win it means nothing right, after all it is only one week? I see how this game is played….

  16. Todd Says:

The only think hot will be the physical shart dripping down JG’s pants after a half-dozen TB blitzes.

  17. Todd Says:

    thing

  18. Pickgrin Says:

I still can’t get over the fact that John Lynch decided it was a good investment to pay Kwon Alexander $13.5M per year…. and did so with Kwon coming off a major knee injury towards the end of last season no less….

    That chit is CRAZY.

Yes, Kwon brings a lot of ‘TUDE to the team that can positively rub off on other players – but other than the Atlanta game after his brother was killed and maybe a couple other very good games – when has Kwon Alexander’s play on the field ever matched the intensity of his ‘tude?

  19. NOSBOS Says:

Kobe we have the ultimate 3/4 anchor in Darf Vea. This is not a Vince Wolfork nose,Vea is athletically freaky bro. Vea about to soon help people round here understand her was the right pick. And that’s coming from a Seminole. No one rushing for a 100 yard on us this season .

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    NOSBOS Says
“Put this in your pack, screen save it to remind me if I’m wrong later in the season. “No one and I mean no one will rush for a 100 yards on Tampa this season”. Bank on that.”

    Heh. Big talk.

I think you are wrong…but not by much. It’s possible one might have one 100 game.

But I’m also skeptical that Arians will run the ball as much as Tampa Fans believe he will. Come regular season, it will probably almost disappear.

  21. Anonymous Says:

    The “HOT” boys!!! LOL

That’s about right for San Fransico.

Not sure anyone but Kwon could have come up with something that soft. It matches his cute red hair.

This is hilarious, what even funnier is when JW carves up both Kwon and McCoy week one and two and the Buc’s are 2-0!!!!

  22. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @tmaxcon,

Serious question – do you think you add any value to this site? You are seriously just a stale joke at this point. I just hope for your sake you are a much better person in real life.

  23. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

    “Hot Boys”

    Oh my! How frightening!

Kwon should have gone with, Red Headed Step Children from Pasco County!!

  24. DooshLaRue Says:

Key words from the gayest sports article I’ve ever read:

    San Francisco
    Hot Boys
    Rubbed Off
    Stretching Ends

I think Chris B moonlights as a gay porn writer.

  25. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

The bucs OL is going to have a really hot day with that front 7 of the niners and that is a fact… this might be an hot n ol bucball 13-10 game unless it turns into one of those ugly bucs games where jimmy g torches all those rookie dbs

  26. miken Says:

@joe… please tell me #13 is ok.

  27. jmarkbuc Says:

So let me see if I got this straight,

Kwon has practiced little, if at all. The Niners are super psyched because he’s “Vocal”.

Kwon was always good at running his mouth, it was the football that gave him problems. I love me some John Lynch, but damn surely John could see his bad angles and poor tackling. He still gave him 54mil…What the actual F?

  28. Snook Says:

Kwon is more talk than McCoy.

So glad we didn’t re-sign that guy. Could his resume be any weaker?

  29. Race to 10 Says:

This is essentially the same defense we dominated last year since bosa isn’t playing and benonoch was a starter. No reason we should be concerned about week one because we should win.

  30. NOSBOS Says:

Oh it’s possible Bonzai,I just don’t think anyone will do so. And meet me clarify, I mean a single rusher. A team may do so, QB as well as a few rushers, but an individual runner. No one on our schedule.

  31. JimmyJack Says:

What in the actual freak? My God California is a weird place.

Sounds more like a boy band then NFL players. How embarrassing for them.

  32. ModHairKen Says:

(C’mon, man, if he was that good, how did the Bucs so often suck so incredibly badly with him on the field).

  33. ModHairKen Says:

Joe: (C’mon, man, if he was that good, how did the Bucs so often suck so incredibly badly with him on the field).

    — Amen! Ditto for McCoy, Lavonte David, the CB with the very vocal wife and who got mad because they asked him to cover somebody, and on and on and on. Kwon was flash and dance. McCoy was the incredible disappearing act. David was misused, and maybe disillusioned, understandably.

  34. Slugglife Says:

    Good one Doosh.

You also missed “hot in the pants” and “pump them up.”

still butt hurt i was right about cancer93.. of course, I add value. I add facts and reality that is sorely lacking from low standard bucfans fantasy world they live. I educate those clinging to one year wonder has beens that sapp carried to the promise land. you people rewrite history all day long to feel good about mediocrity. I am raising the standards for all while you are making excuses, justifying and accepting failure!

keep lowering the standards Hawaiian until one day Tampa throws a parade for 0-16 they have enough backups in the ring of underachievement to filed an xfl team and have already render that honor meaningless.

  36. Pryda...sec147 Says:

Bucs going to blow them out ! 40+ points

  37. BucsFan727 Says:

Kwon took the wrong gap often than not. Bad angles trying to catch the ball career. And he was a liability in coverage.

  38. Bucsfanman Says:

I’ll wager the rook has better stats than motor-mouth, tackle-misser Kwon, by far. His red hair matches that matador cape he uses when tackling! 49’ers overpaid!

  39. DooshLaRue Says:

    @Slugglife

    Good catch.
I really need to start wearing my glasses….

  40. Rod Munch Says:

The hot boys sound like they’ll enjoy our new kicker.

  41. Rayjay1122 Says:

  42. orlbucfan Says:

The Kwonster will jack up the 49ers’ LB squad. What happened to Beckwith? He still on the roster?

  43. joestang Says:

Kwon will never finish a full year without getting injured, very undisciplined player, he will get burned
