Buried in this wordy, confusing if not boring story about the legality of NFL Sunday Ticket is an incredible figure: As recently as 2017, NFL gate receipts (ticket sales) make up just 16 percent of the NFL’s gross revenue. [theMMQB]

    Dang I LOVE Sapp

  2. FairMinded Says:

Man that’s the fire our defense needs and the kind of rivalry we WANT with the Panthers. Sapp is 🔥…they need to put him back on tv

  3. Barbosa Says:

Thanks Joes for the link to the MMQB read. I knew gate admissions didn’t mean as much as they used to. I didn’t know the number was so low though. I guess that can also explain the shrugging of glazer shoulders when the stadium is 2/3 empty

  4. Clodhopper Says:

Sapp was ahead of his time. He would be perfect in today’s world of owning people.

I can only imagine what he’d be saying on the line to get into pouty Cams head. And it would work every game. Every game!!

Yup. Joe’s been writing this for years. Still, that figure even was a surprise.

  6. Scott Says:

Not sure how they figured the Bucs have one of the easiest roads to the Super Bowl…

  7. D-Rome Says:

    1. I didn’t know kinkajou’s are in Florida now.
    2. Television revenue accounts for most of the league’s revenue. That’s for all sports. It’s why it’s absurd the Rays are looking to move. They never have and never will need to depend on ticket sales to be a very lucrative business

  8. Buccfan37 Says:

Millions of fans upchuck at the prospect of the Pats winning the SB again in our lifetimes.
