What apple needs to do is bring back the innovation and attention to detail they used to have.

The sad truth is the company is a shell of it’s former self compared to when Steve Jobs was at the helm. He was a true visionary and genius. Tim Cook might be able to keep sales increasing for a while longer, but the fact is the new ideas and tech that have been rolled out under his tenure are mostly a joke.

Their computers, phones and other devices, and operating systems actually worked much better and more flawlessly 6 – 10 years ago than they do now. Sad but true. Google and android phones are way ahead of them on tech now, and their OS is hardly as superior as it once was.

Steve Jobs was the Thomas Edison of his day. Really.

Was thinking seriously of flipping to a Macbook Air. The last two Dell laptops have bought are ungodly slow. So much so decided quite often to type stories on an iPhone the iPhone is so much quicker. Tech guy told Joe that laptops with Windows 10 absolutely drags down the speed. Everyone spoke with who has a Macbook Air has told Joe those things are fast. That’s what Joe is looking for: Speed.

Had no issue with Android phones with one (major) exception: The batteries in those things are pitiful. An iPhone battery (with a battery pack booster) lasts Joe literally all day. With the Android, Joe was a frigging wall-hugger. Barely got past noon before had to charge the phone up. Towards the end, battery in Android would only hold a charge for an hour.

Agreed about Jobs, he really was! I still prefer mac OS over Windows, by a wide margin to be honest. But 10 years ago their stuff was even better, both hardware and software. My biggest gripe is really towards their mobile devices and OS. They just seem buggier with every new version.

But the macbook airs are actually really nice! My wife had one through her last job and loved it. I enjoyed using it here and there as well. Definitely fast enough for the majority of your uses, and will stay fast for years and years. I do more graphic intensive work for my job so I move towards the macbook pro. And while they still perform better, there hasn’t been a whole lot of substantial improvements over the last 4 – 5 years.

I suppose I just long for the days when they were truly groundbreaking.
