Rob Gronkowski Not Getting Hounded By Leonard Fournette To Return

June 7th, 2022

Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The final piece to what the Bucs believe is a Super Bowl-winning puzzle is still out there bothering his TV star girlfriend trying to memorize a script in the next room while he’s cranking tunes during a workout.

Bucs foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski and his model girlfriend Camille Kostek appear to be back in Tampa, at least based on close surveillance of Kostek’s Instagram feeds (ahem). Whether that means Gronk will re-sign with the Bucs soon is another story.

Joe does know Gronk keeps up with old (?) Bucs teammates other than Tom Brady. How does Joe know this? Because Playoff Lenny responded to Joe today after the first day of minicamp when Joe asked Playoff Lenny if he is hounding Gronk to return.

Those who monitor players’ social media posts know that Gronk and Playoff Lenny developed a friendship as the Bucs marched to the Super Bowl two years ago.

Playoff Lenny told Joe he tries to hit up Gronk twice a week, but sort of gives Gronk his space about returning to the Bucs, sort of the way Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht negotiated to get Brady back.

“I might text him probably two times out of the week,” Playoff Lenny said of reaching out to Gronk. “Just checking on him. Naw, I’m not going to hound him. He’s an older dude. I want him to take his time. I hope he comes back.”

Newcomer Akiem Hicks later today said he doesn’t blame Gronk one bit for not wanting to get hit unnecessarily, Hicks, a defensive lineman, said he has seen defenses firsthand how they physically attack Gronk to try to take him out of games and the brutal punishment Gronk absorbs.

But make no mistake. Hicks really, really wants Gronk to play for the Bucs this fall.

“I would love to play with him,” Hicks said. “I would LOVE to play with him. I know what he brings to a team.“

    Suh.

  3. GOB Says:

I’m getting sick of gronks nonsense. He’s playing this year. This is all a ploy to avoid fines for not attending mandatory camp. He’ll sign after. Correct me if I’m wrong, but per the CBA rules, teams are no longer able to wipe fines for non attendance. I think it’s different for rookies

  4. David Says:

Everyone relax. He saving his body he’ll be back sometime by the end of July or beginning of August. And I am positive the Buccaneers already know this

    8. LOL, they signed Hicks get over it dude. Plus SUH has no pass rush left and consistently got worse against the run last year. He’s done

  5. GOB Says:

David, agree on Suh. Help me out with Defense Rules, he’s on my rump

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Gronk-a-day continues…….waiting for the next episode tomorrow…..nothing new since the first one.

GOB, what makes this BUCS site so much better than all the other sites is posters like yourself and Defence Rules debating the finer points of buccaneers football.
It gets a little chippy sometimes, but it’s all in fun.
    I just enjoy the show.

  8. GOB Says:

Bucsfan4ever, thanks. I appreciate that, even if some don’t. You’re right, it’s all in good fun. GOB loves you all

  9. BigMacAttack Says:

I think the Glazers should build a nice pool by the practice fields so after practice or during breaks, players can jump in to cool off.

  10. Buc1987 Says:

Bucsfan4ever…except of course you haven’t noticed Gob’s a Pats fan.

  11. Rayjay1122 Says:

He will play this season if he is alive and healthy. Bank on it.

  12. Beej Says:

I can see Suh signing for $4 million, playing half as many snaps as last year

  13. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

1987, I am sure everyone knows GOB is a Pat’s fan – hard to miss that. But his takes usually are good. The only exception is when he lets his blind loyalty to Belicheat obscure his intelligence. Other than that, I read his takes.

  14. George Says:

I like how Gronk’s teammates are looking forward to playing with him. That kind of chemistry will take the team a long way this year.

  15. D-Rok Says:

GRONK. His presence changes a team. For the better.
