Joe thought it was curious after Monday night’s win against the Bungles when America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, deflected praise for his game, suggesting Cincinnati plays a defense very similar to Minnesota, and because he was getting the same reads defensively, it made his job that much easier.
So today, when Bucs offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter had his weekly press conference, Joe asked whether playing a similar defense was the reason for Jameis’ success, or is Jameis just developing that quickly? (more…)
On Friday afternoon, Joe made his way to the popular Ron and Ian show on WDAE-AM 620 for a rapid-fire interview. Joe offered perspective from patrolling Bucs practices and the preseason locker room in Minnesota.

Yes, the Bucs picked up a veteran offensive tackle yesterday when AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht signed free agent Gosder Cherilus.
Joe suspects that won’t be the last newcomer to the offensive line corps between now and when the Bucs host the Titans to kick off the season. (more…)
Joe understands how Bucs fans have chewed up couch pillows like a hungry dog and punched their windshields into a cobweb after the first preseason game. (more…)

As Chucky would say, “Love him, man!” (more…)
Joe never imagined seeing another Derrick Brooks prowling the sidelines for the Bucs.
Then along came the closest thing Joe has seen to Brooks. That man is Bucs linebacker Lavonte David. (more…)
During the last two training camp practices, “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, was mostly sharp. In his first few practices, he had more rough first steps but overcame them each day. (more…)
Joe’s written quite a bit over the past two practices about rookie Division-III right guard Ali Marpet. The Buccaneers’ second-round pick has looked capable — sometimes more than capable — running with the first team in full pads.
Wow, Joe is really happy that Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht joined Joe live on WDAE-AM 620 during a special Saturday afternoon broadcast from Bucs training camp at One Buc Palace. (more…)
Joe likes creative analogies but must confess this one left Joe scratching his head.
Yesterday, in his daily presser, Lovie Smith was asked about the development of “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. This somehow dovetailed into Lovie invoking the name of MMA fighter Ronda Rousey. (more…)
