Mike Williams Could Be Out Several Weeks

October 25th, 2013

It’s no secret that Mike Williams has been playing with a bad hamstring since the bye week. He’s nowhere near 100 percent and had three catches for 20 yards against the Panthers last night.

But Joe has learned that Williams’ injury is now considered serious and it is likely that his season — or most of it — is done.

Joe expects a detailed announcement to come next week.

This will be another crushing blow the Bucs’ horrendous offense. Losing Doug Martin and Mike Williams? Ouch.

Joe hopes, given that the 2013 season is lost, that the Buccaneers do the right thing and shut down these two young stars until next year. The Bucs need them healthy for 2014. Whoever is coaching the Bucs will surely want those guys on his roster.

I agree with warehousing Mike Will and Doug. I thought for what you can expect from the rest of our season, Mike James is performing well and some of our 2nd tier WRs look like they can catch the ball.

Let’s be honest here, when you call a 4th and 10 at the 16 with that much time left on the clock and a defensive stunt when the opposing offense is on the 10yd line, the real problem here is coaching!

Coaching is the difference between 0-7 and perhaps 4-3. Look at the tape!

    @Joe.
I understand I must give up my log in ID as Schiano wants it.

    Tanking mode is ON
    Chirpin mode is ON

    What’s next?

Agree – there’s no reason to try and bring these two back this year. The Bucs might as well try to develop another receiver. Very frustrating watching this unfold.

Now its all about developing young players to see who & what we have going forward….it makes no sense to take gambles with injured players. Put them on IR and move on.
I think MW19 played hurt to try to get us a win….but it has been obvious that he wasn’t 100% for a while.

  6. Couch Fan Says:

Shut it down Mike. Get better for next year. Nothing left to play for… not even pride.

No big lost at all. Like I’ve said before he’s the next Alvin Harper, over paid and over hyped. I’m not even pissed anymore about this debacle, I’ve become apathetic. Thank you Glazers, thank you Dominik, but most of all thanks Schiano……thanks for making the team I LOVE an irrelevant punch line in the NFL. For pete’s sake even the New York Jets fans are clowning us. Could you imagine if the Bucs played the Jags, I think the Jags would win. Not only do I think they’re the worst team Florida, but they are imo the worst team in the NFL.

  8. FloridaGirl Says:

And here we go…..@ 0-7 the guys that got paid in the off season are shutting it down to let the rookies and the no-names take the blame…

  9. Westsidebucsfan Says:

I used to think we could smash the jags if we ever played them…. I now think we would be the ones getting smashed. For the love of god, fire Schiano, fire Dom and sell the team to someone who knows how to run a football team.

    Give our soldiers a rest!

Sammy Watkins would look nice in pewter & red…
