Freeman: “The Coach Wanted A Guy Of His Own”

October 18th, 2013

Not that long ago Greg Schiano talked about the “Hall of Fame” throws Josh Freeman made this year, and about his legendary vision down the field.

Freeman, though, is now divorced from Schiano, as well as his former life partner Raheem Morris. Freeman finally spoke out in detail today on The Dan Patrick Show on CBS Radio.

“I know exactly what happened [in Tampa],” Freeman said. “Obviously, a place where I was coming from was a place where they didn’t see me as the guy. They didn’t see me as the guy that could get it done. You know, I strongly disagree with that. But at the same time, it’s not really my decision to make. It’s just been an awesome deal being blessed having an opportunity to play for an organization like Minnesota.”

Freeman went on to say the “bottom line” in Tampa was “the coach wanted a guy of his own.” He also called Mike Glennon “an awesome dude,” who “works his butt off.”

Freeman also said it’s on him for not playing better and forcing the Bucs’ hand to keep him, but Freeman said of his benching and the aftermath, “it did kind of seem personal [from Schiano] coming from a number of different angles.”

LIsten to the entire interview below. It’s worth the seven minutes. Freeman explains how difficult the rumor mill became for him.

  1. Biff Barker Says:

Rumor mill? Rumor mill? But the Big Dog Duemeg insisted Freeman never ever followed the media.

Actually, Josh explains how the rumors came to him in the video, not via media. –Joe

  2. Greg Schiano SUCKS Says:

If you play well, you become the coach’s “guy”. What an idiot.

  3. Tampabaybuctfan Says:

Freeman is history, gone, departed, terminated, through, finished, vanished, elsewhere, SYONARA, ADIOS, AU-REVOIR, Auf WIEDERSHEN, CHEERIO, ADJO, ANTIO, DO SVIDANIYA, HASTA LA VISTA, BYE-BYE…. SO LONG Of course, Schiano would say CAIO!!!

  4. PRBucFan Says:

Lol Saw this on my BR app and knew that Joe would put a story up like this.

  5. PRBucFan Says:

For all the people telling us stop holding on it sure seems like Freeman can’t let it go.

  6. Bobby Says:

There is no doubt in my mind that Freeman was the source of all the leaks. This cry baby never misses a chance to throw a barb. What a child…

  7. Buc1987 Says:

    Young buc misses you Josh…

  8. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bobby,

Unless there’s 2 Bobbys, weren’t you the same guy who was supporting Freeman? I don’t know how you can blame him for simply answering questions. If he doesn’t, he’ll get the same questions for the rest of his career. Nowadays, you can’t runaway from it. I don’t think he said anything outrageous at all, he simply answered the questions. He didn’t even seem like he wanted to talk about it, but what do you expect him to say, “no comment”. You expect him to say no comment over and over and over again? Who give a sh!t anyway, we have bigger problems. We are 0-5 and staring at yet another house cleaning. And you and others are still worried about Josh Freeman doing an interview? Child please.

  9. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Yeah, he leaked the info that he has ADHD. That will work wonders for him on the free agent market. Teams are always after guys like that. They are always drawn to guys in the drug program. Do you even comprehend what you are saying? Get some sort of a clue.

  10. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Hawaiian Buc, by the same token, Schiano probably wanted to destroy any chance of getting trade value my leaking the information as well.

Personally, I understand three players claim Schiano told them…but that’s not a leak. It’s within the organization still. A leak is the person who “leaked” it to the press. Probably one to the three players the NFLPA talked to.

  11. SteveK Says:

    Hawaiian,

Think about it, why would Greg talk to the media and leak info? He is too stubborn to succumb to that level of dog shit.

Freeman, on the other hand, threw a temper tantrum and it got him a ticket out of Dodge.

The Bucs are just learning how to “win” again. Freeman is too soft, and would rather run has damn mouth, than practice, watch film, put it time to get better.

Freeman is a joke. He is uncommitted to being an NFL QB. That is probably the worst thing an NFL QB could do: be uncommitted to your craft and most importantly your team.

  12. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    “Who give a $&!* anyway…”

I do for one. I still like Freeman. I understand he isn’t part of this team any longer, but you are seriously not going to claim you don’t root for any players outside the team if they are not playing the Bucs?

  13. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Buccaneer Bonzai,

He knew we weren’t getting a trade for Freeman. I knew it, you knew it, and I’m pretty sure everyone knew it. There were reports everywhere of ZERO interest in a trade for Freeman well before the leak ever came out. That’s not disputable. If you leak out that info, Freeman knows you leaked it, he snaps, then you can suspend him without pay (ala Keyshawn Johnson). It didn’t work, the distraction became too big, and they cut him. But make no mistake, nobody was taking on that $6.5 M contract. The trade thing was nothing more than a scam from the get go.

And no, he is not allowed to tell players. That is against the NFLPA rules. So that is a leak, no matter how you spin it.

  14. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“I do for one. I still like Freeman. I understand he isn’t part of this team any longer, but you are seriously not going to claim you don’t root for any players outside the team if they are not playing the Bucs?”

    ——

I’m seriously going to tell you that, yes. I don’t root for anyone not wearing red and pewter. This is why I don’t do fantasy football. I’m not hoping he fails, but I’m not wearing a Josh Freeman jersey anymore either.

  15. Young buc Says:

    1987
Lol I’m a bucs fan but a lot of
Players in the nfl freeman is one
    Of them

  16. Hawaiian Buc Says:

My point was, I don’t care what Josh Freeman says to the media. He’s allowed to do interviews, and I don’t blame him one bit for it. He should be able to tell his side. If you or anyone else has been wronged and dragged through the mud (in front of the whole world no less), then you should be able to defend yourself. Do you let people walk all over you?

  17. WalkdaPlank Says:

Indeed, Josh Freeman is the reason Josh Freeman was benched. However, the way Schiano handled this from the get-go was unprofessional. Now we have a lot of other things to worry about, like the Bucs being 0-2 without Freeman. Just because Freeman is gone doesn’t mean we are a good team. Freeman may have been part of the problem but if you think he was the only problem then that makes you pretty ignorant.

  18. Buc1987 Says:

I still have thoughts of the Glazers not wanting to pay him big bucks if he ever did get his sh!t together this season. That’s why they benched him and then let him go. I think it was a business move. Then again…that’s just MY conspiracy theory.

  19. Bangkok Buc Says:

It looks like Freeman is right. Shiano will get a QB of his choosing in Bridgewater, Manziel or Mariota.
That is of course if his ass isn’t fired before the draft. What a terrible situation we put ourselves in

  20. WalkdaPlank Says:

@Bangkok Buc – It’s all about that Aaron Murray!

  21. PRBucFan Says:

That great Hawaiian I’m glad you don’t care

But on the same token other’s are allowed to view it as they like as well.

IMO He needs to move on. He is no victim.

  22. Buc1987 Says:

Thank the lord I still have college ball and my Noles. Go Famous Jameis #1 overall pick in the draft 2015.

As far as my conspiracy theory above. It’s not really solid one for me, so don’t take me as one of those Freeman/Schiano conspiracy nutjobs. I think that it’s about a 10% chance that, that could have been the reason. All I know is the NFL is a business and the Glazers are business men. Josh not having a good season saved them about 120 million dollars.

  23. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @PRBucFan,

Absolutely everyone can view it as they like. And make no mistake, I’ll be watching the Minnesota game with fascination. I think he is moving on, but part of moving on is answering questions that will never go away, until he answers those questions.

  24. Christopher Says:

Yeah Joshie, if you were the guy, you wouldn’t be on your second coach. You were in command on the field when the team lost 10 straight in pretty much horrific fashion in 2011. Your lifetime QB rating dipped below 80 last year, & you haven’t led your team to the playoffs in 4 years (i.e., ever). You had a chance to correct EVERYTHING this year, & you wilted like a delicate flower, posting some of your worst numbers ever. As much as Schiano is a tool, he already saw your body of work, & decided he knew how that story was gonna end (again).

  25. Capt. Tim Says:

    Lol!
That Freeman must be a bad QB! It took the Vikings 10 whole days to make him their starter. And they aren’t a bunch of winless scrubs, like The Schiano gang!

But what do those guys know? When’s the last time theyade the playoffs?? Oh . .

Well they can’t be smarter the Schiano!!

  26. crazy Says:

Bad Josh drove Good Josh off the field and out of town. Good Josh would be wise to get control of Bad Josh, quickly…

  27. chickster Says:

wow what haters freeman will ball out for the vikes and were stuck with a pencil neck geek at qb that I think wont last long in the nfl the falcons will show how bad he really is and you suck pumps can kiss freeman asssss

  28. chickster Says:

The coaqch started his bullshiiiitttt in the off season to his own team andnow he has de this team the laughing stocks of the nfl

  29. Cody Says:

God Damit Free….”A guy of his own”…you still don’t get it…

Did Ponder whine and stop coming to meetings when you came to town?…No, that’s because he’s a professional…

In case you didn’t know, it’s called competition bonehead…It brings out the best in some and those who can’t handle the pressure of it tend to fold…We all saw first hand how you handled it…

You’re not a true competitor; you’re a dud…I have totally lost every ounce of respect for you as a football player…And for the record, I hope you crash and burn pu**y…

  30. buc4lyfe Says:

    @Greg Schiano SUCKS

    your an idiot

we had the 10 ranked offense in the league last year he did play well, almost all his interceptions last year came in 3 games. not saying that i support him but we would have been a playoff team if the coach wasnt so stupid. if your boss treated you like garbage are you gonna sit there and cry about it or do what you have to in order to get a better job?

THIS ISNT FANTASY BECAUSE YOU SEE IT ON TV, ITS REAL LIFE

It’s like most of our fans are sweating more than dominick and schiano…breath take it easy the guy is gone, why hate just wish him well but seems some people cant because our team sucks so bad….schiano is here and freeman isnt…it took us letting him go to realize schiano is the issue….

the perfect storm would be for glennon gets injured then they look really stupid for letting starting caliber qb go and give him 6mil to play someone else, you tell me who’s the idiot josh or the bucs

  31. chickster Says:

But to be fair its not glennen fault

  32. BigMacAttack Says:

Josh needs to grow up. He can say what he wants but the arrow keeps pointing his way. He may start well with the Viqueens, but he is doomed to inconsistency. He has always been hot and cold which will not change. He is his own worst enemy. My only complaint is that the Bucs released him and got nothing. They could have managed this better and got a decent pick for Josh. They should have traded Josh before the Draft when he had value. I believe Schiano demanded Dom get rid of him and that was a bonehead move. They should have been patient. This was another Epic Fail by the Regime. I don’t care what Josh does or doesn’t do. I’m over him and all the stupid Schiano drama.

  33. GoFreeman Says:

Freeman is gone and guess what we still got a crappy defense that was the whole problem with freeman he had no backup, no one to help him not get sacked. You think that disappeared with freeman. Freeman is a good qb and I for one can’t wait till he beats the pants off us and shoves it in our faces. Isn’t shiano getting fire, yea BC he sucks.

  34. Eric Says:

    Pretty standard remarks from Freeman.

You know it’s not unheard of that a guy plays below his potential due to poor coaching and supporting cast.

    It’s happened before.

I’m hoping the kid plays well. He isn’t the guy the Schiano and the media makes him out to be. Schiano playing musical chairs with his QB goes back to his Rutgers days, along with the fact that he is a total prick.

  35. BucoBruce Says:

The coach wanted a Qb that can do more than just throw jump balls for Jackson and Williams.

  36. Cody Says:

I’m still not ready to completely blame Schiano…only 1 year and 5 games in…the players have grossly underachieved thus far…could Schiano have done a few things differently yes (letting Micheal Bennett go was one of his biggest mistakes Imo) but still…he cant throw, block or tackle anybody…

Josh however, lets keep it real…his best 2 seasons as our starter he went 10-6 (last place schedule 3-13 the previous year) and 7-9 (pretty much a last place schedule 4-12 the previous year)…lets stop making excuses for Freeman and call it what it is…his accuracy flat out sucks and he’s a mental midget…Glad he’s gone…Lets go Bucs beat the Falcons…

  37. Couch Fan Says:

You know it’s not unheard of that a guy plays below his potential due to poor coaching and supporting cast.

    ——————————————–
Any bust can use this as an excuse.

  38. Eric Says:

And any coach can use a bunch of excuses for 1-11.

What about the super sloppy play across the board? 6 points in second half of five NFL games?

And that pattern continued with Free 2000 miles away. Along with the losing.

More of that to come, a whole lotta more.

Free sounded like a guy just released from prison. Don’t blame him. He deserved better, way better.

  39. Couch Fan Says:

Freeman was a bust far before Schiano got here. Besides, who’s making excuses for 1-11? Not 1 single person. So far Schiano sucks as well. Doesn’t excuse Freeman piss poor play or his bust status.

  40. kh Says:

Hawaiian – Mortensen had stories about the Jags asking about Freeman’s drug issues days before the story broke. It wasn’t a new story around the league when he reported the stage 1 development so it had zero effect on his free agent value but did paint the picture that the Bucs had it out for him. As far as I’m concerned the only person that it makes sense that would leak info about that is Josh.

  41. PRBucFan Says:

Freeman has nothing left to prove to us because his time with us is up.

He proved all he needed to prove and that was that he wasn’t up for the task here.

And I’ve said this multiple times. We all know Josh is capable of having a fantastic game on Monday.

That’s not a big deal. What will be a big deal and the ONLY thing that will shut his doubters up will be when/if ever he puts together another compete season.

Or will the “2010 Freeman” be a 1 time thing.

So I honestly don’t wanna hear anyone talking Freeman up if he had a great game Monday. We’ve seen it before.

  42. PRBucFan Says:

    Has*

  43. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ PR

lol. oh dont worry, there will be plenty of people talking him up. some might even go so far as to compare his play with Glennon’s for this weeks games. we all just need to move on.

  44. Eric Says:

Schiano’s 2010 Rutgers offense ranked 102nd in college football. Damn close to last in all the land. In the super tough Big East!

His 2011 his offense sky rocketed up to 65th.

Great guy to turn the keys of an NFL franchise to. Brilliant.

Free threw 25 td’s and 6 Int’s while being coached by Raheem Morris, another sorry coach. Absolute miracle anyone could do that. Hardly a bust.

I look for him to do big things. Ala Steve Young and Doug.

  45. WalkdaPlank Says:

“Freeman was a bust far before Schiano got here.”

Yeah, Couch, I’m sure you were calling him a total bust in 2010.

  46. PRBucFan Says:

Lol It’s going to be a sad sight Andrew 1

  47. Cody Says:

    Eric stop the madness….

“Freeman deserved better”…He had every opportunity already and couldn’t get it done…I use to stick up for Freeman until I realized that besides a 6 game stretch last season (thank god for doug martin) Josh has done nothing since 2010…Have you seen his record against teams with a winning record; it’s pathetic…Freeman actually got what he deserves; the boot…we couldn’t even trade the dud for crying out loud…

  48. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ PR

    yep.

  49. PRBucFan Says:

    Again,

Let’s see a Freeman do it more than just once in 2010 before you guys talk.

2010 is the outlier not the mean when you look at his career overall.

  50. WalkdaPlank Says:

Freeman is going up against the 0-5 Giants with an offense that contains the reigning MVP Adrian Peterson as well as Greg Jennings. I won’t be surprised if he wins. But if he turns the Vikes around, that’s a different story.

  51. Eric Says:

How bad do you have to suck to have the 102nd ranked offense in college football?

And as far as I know Free never played for Rutgers.

    The man is a joke.

Coaching matters, big time. Look at KC with Reed. Think smith would be doing that if Schiano was coaching there? Heck no.

  52. Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I have to say I support Coach Schiano for ridding us of this crybaby. He did not get his contract extension, then played and acted like a spoiled brat because of it.
He played us into cutting him, and stuck an extra 3 million in his pocket.

  53. Couch Fan Says:

Yeah, Couch, I’m sure you were calling him a total bust in 2010.

    ———————————————————–

Nope, been calling him a bust ever since though.

  54. PRBucFan Says:

    Again

2010 is the outlier not the mean when you look at his career overall.

  55. Buc1987 Says:

“It took the Vikings 10 whole days to make him their starter. And they aren’t a bunch of winless scrubs, like The Schiano gang!”

Capt Tim…yeah the Vikings are a real powerhouse this season. They have 1 more win than the Bucs. I predict the Giants get their first win Monday night.

  56. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Mortensen had stories about the Jags asking about Freeman’s drug issues days before the story broke. It wasn’t a new story around the league when he reported the stage 1 development so it had zero effect on his free agent value but did paint the picture that the Bucs had it out for him. ”

    ——-

The Jaguars never had any interest in Josh Freeman. They were the very first team to say as much, so not sure where you got that story about Mortenson reporting that. I googled the hell out of it and found nothing. And what do you mean it wasn’t a new story around the league? Of course it was. And I truly don’t follow your logic that him admitting he had ADHD had no effect on his free agent value. Are you freaking serious? Do you know how stupid that sounds? There were GM’s not wanting to draft Andy Dalton because he had red hair, and you think they would want a QB with ADHD. Do you even know what ADHD is? My goodness some people really should think about what they type before they do it.

  57. Buc1987 Says:

He was crying to ESPN and national TV the day after he got benched and wanted to be traded. And some people like buc4lyfe say STUPID ASS sh!t like this wishing ill will on his own team.

buc4lyfe : “the perfect storm would be for glennon gets injured then they look really stupid for letting starting caliber qb go”

I effing hate fans like you. You suck! Go away this team does not need fans of your kind. Of course fans like you are all over the Bay area, so go figure.

The perfect storm would be that you wrap your car around a telephone poll on the way to a Bucs game.

  58. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Eric,

Nobody is going to acknowledge your points, because they love to shift the blame to Freeman (or anyone else they can find to excuse Schiano). I’m pretty sure that deep down they ALL know what is painfully obvious, but they just want any glimmer of hope to make them feel better about our current sad state. Well, good luck with that guys, cuz it ‘aint gonna happen with Schiano here. Look at his history (as Eric has pointed out), as well as the present. They all have some major similarities: poor gameday adjustments, poor QB play, terrible offense, and losing a ton of games. Oh yeah, being a micromanaging prick that refuses to adapt to anything that he doesn’t think of himself.

  59. Cody Says:

Eric..Andy Reid is a Bad example dude…He’s actually known around the league as a QB guru…not to mention a great offensive mind…

As for Rutgers I respect what Schiano did there…I’ve watch a lot of football in my 40 years and I can guarantee you there aren’t many coaches walking on this planet that couldve done what Schiano did at Rutgers…If he was lucky he got a 3 star recruit…Granted he never won any titles but I still can’t discredit his accomplishments there…

  60. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“The perfect storm would be that you wrap your car around a telephone poll on the way to a Bucs game.”

    ——

    Wow, that’s classy. You’re a jack ass.

  61. WalkdaPlank Says:

Well it makes little difference here in Tampa. Schiano is going to have a whole 13 games with “his guy”, so far he is 0-2 “his guy” and the team has been in a nosedive for weeks with a furious fanbase calling for the man’s head. Even if they do somehow beat the battered and bruised Falcons, imagine how they’ll look when they fly to the slaughterhouse in Seattle, or how about when they play San Francisco? Miami’s looking good this year, and we still haven’t played the Panthers. Schiano will be here for the whole season IMO, but afterwards, its off to the plank with him.

  62. Chris Says:

As should you Hawaiian. There was a report that teams were enquiring about the drug rumors when Josh was on the market. before the leak. And yeah, ADHD, is a whole lot better than the alleged coke rumors that were being spread. Wow, that all went away with the ADHD leak, hmmmm.

  63. Buc1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…well that’s just the way it is, isn’t it. When someone talks like that about MY team and has a name like buc4lyfe I go for the throat. Don’t say your a Buc fan and act like a Falcons or Saints fan. That’s something a rival fan would say.

“the perfect storm would be for glennon gets injured then they look really stupid for letting starting caliber qb go”

  64. Cody Says:

I’m still not ready to write-off Schiano like many fans seem to be…This guy is 1 year and 5 games in…I believe he can get things turned around…but he better do it fast or he’ll be gone…

The fans here in Tampa change like the weather…They want instant results or else…

  65. Couch Fan Says:

Lol, I dont care whether Schiano stays or goes. So far his record shows he sucks. If the G Bros fire him then so be it. But I’m not going to pin Freeman’s failures on him.

Only people bringing Schiano into this are the haters.

Bottom line is Freeman was pampered every step of his Buc Career and in the end his attitude reflected that. He was and will always be mentally weak.

  66. PRBucFan Says:

    Nope.

I just don’t think that because we are dealing with other problems that have nothing to do with Josh that it means that somehow Josh himself wasn’t a problem in an of itself when he was here.

  67. Chris Says:

And yeah , I don’t think Schiano and his cast of cast off assistants have done anything to stem the potential of their dismissal after this year. But , man up Free, he could have taken the high road, happy blah blah chance with Vikings blah blah. But no, that’s not his mod,.

  68. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

You’re so out of line it’s not even funny. I don’t care what anybody says about MY team, or what they say about anything, I would never wish that upon anyone. You should be ashamed, and I have absolutely no respect for a dumb arse like you. Don’t try to justify yourself, because it just makes you look even worse. Get some perspective on life moron.

  69. Eric Says:

In the 2010 season, schiano’s 10th at Rutgers, they managed 4-8 overall and 1-6 in the Big East.

Dead last in Big East in his 10th year.

Who does that in college football that’s worth a damn? After laying the foundation for nine years?

  70. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

But like a typical jack ass, you won’t realize how much of a jack ass you are. You’ll just continue to justify your jack ass ways.

  71. PRBucFan Says:

Schiano not cutting it right now

    And Freeman not cutting it

    Two different things:

Is Schiano somehow saves his job great, if not than great too that would than be another problem gone.

We’ve already ridded ourselves of one.

  72. Couch Fan Says:

Lol why are you turning a Freeman article into a debate over Schiano’s credentials?

  73. chickster Says:

Wow what a looser cody is talking about a man that’s made a laughing stock of the bucs and you defend that this will carry on into next year if there is no change and other nfl coaches do not respect this guy so get off his jock

  74. Buc1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…oh you don’t approve? I’m crushed, I’m devastated. What ever will I do now?

Trust me I was trying to be as nice as possible with my comments. I actually held back from a whole lot more.

  75. PRBucFan Says:

“the perfect storm would be for glennon gets injured then they look really stupid for letting starting caliber qb go and give him 6mil to play someone else, you tell me who’s the idiot josh or the bucs”

And you call yourself a “Buc4life”?

    Enough said…

  76. chickster Says:

0-6 after this week that’s the issue cant hide from it This guy is a fuccccking high school coach

  77. WalkdaPlank Says:

@Cody – No man, we don’t want instant results (even though they’d be nice). We have had nothing but a loser’s mentality of “Oh we’ll be better next year. Next year is our year.” For 5 years we’ve had that mentality. This team is loaded with Pro-bowlers and coaches with impressive resumes. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE why this team is 0-5. We haven’t had a playoff win in over 10 years, and haven’t even been to the playoffs in half that time. I agree that maybe Schiano should be given a little more time, but only IF he shows any progress. This is a “win NOW” league and after a 7-9 season he’s off to an 0-5 start, that’s 7-14 overall TWICE AS MANY LOSSES AS WINS. The ship is sinking and unless Schiano can find the problem and turn it around he will go down with his ship.

  78. Buc1987 Says:

I don’t need to justify jack sh!t…it’s the same as wishing Glennon to get injured as far as I’m concerned.

  79. Couch Fan Says:

I dont really think buc4life meant that that’s what he wanted. A perfect storm means IF that happened. And as a bucs fan, anything is a fk’n possibility. I’m convinced this team is cursed.

  80. chickster Says:

Freeman will be judged on the rest of this year and cant wait until johnny boy rips the bucs on national television

  81. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

Then you’re an even bigger arse hole than you let on. This is a game, and you are talking about someone getting killed because they are talking like a Saints or Falcons fan. The fact that you can look back and think that’s ok is scary, and I’m embarrassed for you. You should be so proud of yourself. You’re not a fan, your a psycho.

  82. BigMacAttack Says:

Eric and HawaiianBuc, I’m totally on board. I agree with all of that and I love the “Total Prick” comment. Lol

  83. Eric Says:

Because schiano’s lack of credentials are directly related to his teams crappy play, including Freeman while he was here.

    Thus, it’s relevant.

  84. Hawaiian Buc Says:

So wishing a QB gets injured is the same as wishing someone gets killed on the way to a game. Sure thing Psycho1987.

  85. BigMacAttack Says:

I think our players will continue to play hard but they seem to be very frustrated. If the Coach can’t bring it all together, them who can? I’m just so done with Schiano. He is stunting the growth of this team and many players have regressed under his Napoleonic tutelage.

  86. PRBucFan Says:

    It’s stupid, regardless Couch

And than there’s chickster who is the epitome of a players fan.

Let’s add to the countless lines of support he/she has spoken for his/her team.

“Can’t wait until johnny boy rips the Bucs on national television.”

    Oh wait I was kidding…

  87. Buc1987 Says:

Using the word “perfect” insinuates to me something someone wants to happen. It’s in the wording. Look it’s not the first time this dude has wished ill will on this team.

Wrapping your car around a telephone poll does not always mean that you die. You could get “injured” though and that would be a perfect storm for a fairweather fan.

  88. Cody Says:

    @walktheplank

I agree…That’s why I said he better get things turned around fast or he’ll be gone…

Tampa fans do change like the weather…This team could easily be 3-2…the Lavonte push, and 2 missed field goals cost us games…Has Schiano been perfect of course not but talk of firing a guy after 1 year is just ridiculous Imo…

  89. Couch Fan Says:

But according to you all he was great last year. Wasn’t that the same offense? Same coach? Pretty much same everything. He had a good 1st year under Rah to then stunk it up. He had a good 1st season under Schiano then stunk it up. … Pattern? Lol, Sure let’s just blame it on the coaches.

Nobody is making excsues for Schiano. 1-11 says it all.

Only ones making excuses are you for Freeman.

  90. Couch Fan Says:

    @PR

It’s comical to me that people are saying we are defending Schiano when they are the ones who keep bringing him up over and over again (after we already aagree with them that he is horrible right now) and using it somehow to defend Freeman. Unreal.

  91. Buc1987 Says:

The perfect storm is for Freeman to go out and throw 2 picks and 1 pick 6 and 3 skipped balls on the turf headed for Adrian.

  92. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Psycho 1987 still refuses to acknowledge what a jack ass he is. And we all know what you meant jack ass.

  93. BucsORDie!!! Says:

It’s so funny to see people crying over a guy who couldn’t throw a slant route, and ten yard out route, hell the man could barely throw it to the running back out of the flat. He held the ball too long and took sacks which mostly ended in fumbles and stared down receivers but people are actually defending his Game??? I don’t like Schiano but I seen all I needed to see from Freeman I used to cringe when he DIDN’T throw a deep ball. C’mon people stop lying to yourselves about Freeman. P.S. 2010 is long gone Let it go ( we didn’t make then playoffs then either)

  94. PRBucFan Says:

Lol it is pretty funny Couch

Schiano has nothing to do with what I have said about Freeman.

Schiano needs to win or he’s out its as simple as that.

But whose talking about Schiano right now?

    1. Schiano is Failing that’s been established

    2. Freeman failed.

  95. Buc1987 Says:

The perfect storm is for Freeman to go out and throw 2 picks and 1 pick 6 and 3 skipped balls on the turf headed for Adrian.

and then….we can ask these yahoos like buc4life and Young (Ra-phael) buc if we should try to get Freeman back.

  96. WalkdaPlank Says:

The time for defending Freeman is over. The minute Schiano drafted Glennon, Freeman’s days with the Bucs were numbered. He’s no longer a member of OUR TEAM. If anything, we’ll let his play with the Vikings do the talking. He’s got 3/4 of a season to prove himself to a new squad.

  97. ronco Says:

Can anyone remember a player in their contract year coming out and performing as poorly as Freeman? Regardless of coaching, supporting cast, etc, I can’t think of another instance where an athlete had a chance to get seriously paid and just completely crap the bed.

  98. Andrew 1 Says:

it so funny to see people crying about firing Schiano. look if the guy doesnt start winning he will get fired. theres no need to be overly sensitive about it. let it play itself out. in the mean time root for the bucs.

  99. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Psycho 1987 was a Freeman jock sniffer just a few short weeks ago. He even bragged about holding up a huge sign for him.

  100. Andrew 1 Says:

    *crying about wanting Schiano fired

  101. Buc1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…I’ve yet to see anyone else care so much. Like I said I was actually trying to be as nice as possible. Seriously dude I WAS holding back. I won’t even type the other stuff that I wanted to put down. If I’m psycho then I’m proud of it. FFS I’m a gentle soul on these boards. I can be a mofo. Come to a Bucs-Philly game with me. It was only halftime but, although I was probably jinxing my team, they were feeling the wrath of me. Again I was holding back. It is what it is and I’m not taking it back. Even if I was standing face to face with the mofo.

  102. Capt. Tim Says:

Hey, I didn’t know the Bucs were sold!!
Bucs1987″ when someone talks about MY team,I go for the throat!”
I didn’t know you were an owner!

I always pictured you as a frustrated lil fat man, somehow taking credit for the Bucs successes, and making excuses for their failures.

    So much misplaced self !!
It’s, Um, the Glazers team. They are some really rich guys- who are intelligent enough not to want some to die, over disagreeing with them.

You, on the other hand- are really frustrated about someone else’s possession!!
I imagine it’s because you don’t really know jack sh*t about football!! Your post prove that! You are going to be clueless and frustrated a lot!

When you start wishing for people to die, over a team playing games, a team that belongs to someone else . . . Wow- you are a bit best mentally squishy!

You need to stop posting, stop watching Football, and quit your Job. Then go find a new job that isn’t deadended. Then you might not be so frustrtrated.

I don’t know what you can to about the stupid part. Readore books or something.

  103. Buc1987 Says:

Do I really have to go into the explanation as to why I held that banner up again?

  104. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

Well, if it doesn’t bother them, then I don’t know what’s wrong with them either. And again, it’s as if you are proud of yourself for being a jack arse. Pound your chest tough guy. You’re nothing but a little psycho little b!tch.

  105. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Those who talk tough on the internet are always the biggest weenies. That’s an absolute fact.

  106. Buc1987 Says:

You know the banner I held up over 2 months ago. I did it to benefit my team, because the last thing my team needs is for him to think fans don’t want him anymore or that we think he sucks. I was trying to build the poor bastard up.

  107. PRBucFan Says:

    WalkDaPlank

The thing is that Freeman could have forced Schiano into making him his guy by going out on that field and making it impossible for Schiano to do otherwise.

So I don’t buy that whole the minute Glennon was drafted his days were numbered excuse. That’s a losers mentality for any player to have.

You make it impossible for a coach not to pass you up.

  108. Buc1987 Says:

Capt Tim…I don’t have a job. I’m an employer, not an employee.

  109. PRBucFan Says:

    *to pass up on you*

    Lol my b

  110. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Bucs1987 says: (back on August 7, 2013)

“And if Freeman was the QB on that Bucs SB team, he’d have a ring too. But in your doubters mind Freeman is what’s holding this team back as if he’s just another Shaun King. I’m sorry but it’s all quite laughable to me. I don’t mean to laugh at you all, but smh.”

    ——

    Jack ass

  111. PRBucFan Says:

    Ahhh!

    *to pass you up

  112. Cody Says:

    Ronco I agree…

I really believe Free just couldn’t handle the competition…he folded…He had no comp and K-State, none here in Tampa till this season…Iv’e never seen a regress the way Freeman did…He’s a DuD, BuSt, GaRBaGe, EtC…

Enter Mike “Big Bird” Glennon, he’s only a rookie but he already has Freeman beat in the accuracy dept.

  113. Hawaiian Buc Says:

It’s funny that you think a pro athlete gives 2 sh!ts about a banner you hold up. They laugh at you for being such a jock sniffer, very similar to what we all do on this board.

  114. Capt. Tim Says:

    Oh, and 1987
Just so you know, making idiotic threats on “the internet” doesn’t make you tough, or a “pycho” or any of those other lil tough guy things you delusional think you appear to be

It shows you are a pussy.

    Just so you know

  115. Eric Says:

the vast consensus is that Schiano sucks.

Yet that could not anything to do with Freeman’s play. Amazing.

Not like schemes and play calling are important for offensive production or anything.

So what does it matter that your coach sucks? The QB should still play great and make the playoffs.

Might as well bring back Perkins and Leeman Bennett.

  116. Buc1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc and Capt Tim…your opinion of me is about as worthless as you both are to society. See ya at the game on Thursday. Oh that’s right you won’t be there.

  117. WalkdaPlank Says:

@PR – I agree with you, Freeman could’ve gone and played lights out and Schiano would’ve looked like a madman if he benched him. But I think we all knew that Freeman would continue his up and down rollercoaster ways, which he did. And while the losses weren’t 100% on him, Schiano was just looking for an excuse to put “his guy” in there. Like Joe has said multiple times, if David doesn’t make that dumb penalty and the Bucs win, and if Lindell makes that FG and the Bucs win then Freeman is still the Bucs starter. Im not trying to make excuses for the guy because he did not play consistently well, but there’s no denying that Schiano didn’t want Freeman here. I mean, the guy didn’t even want him on the sideline, let alone the bench, lmao.

  118. Buc1987 Says:

    Bucs1987 says: (back on August 7, 2013)

Of course no one can change their mind over the course of say 10 weeks later. It has to be written in stone.

  119. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Bucs1987 says:

“When MY Bucs make the playoffs this year with Freeman at QB don’t try to jump on the bandwagon after comments like that. Don’t even bother, because you’ll be thrown off so fast, it’s gonna sting.”

  120. Illuminati Says:

Freeman said to Dan Patrick that regardless of the situation, it’s on him to figure out a way to take his game to a level where there’s no way they can even think about not having him behind center.

So, why didn’t he just do that here?

  121. Buc1987 Says:

I come to the site to talk about the Bucs. Not get into worthless spats with Silly Sally’s. Little bickering girls.

  122. ben brown Says:

please fire coach Schiano now Don’t wait…NOW

  123. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bucs1987,

It’s the confidence which you make your asinine statements that’s funny. You’re an internet tough guy, but have yet to admit when you were wrong. I’ve admitted on tons of occasions that I was wrong about Raheem, Freeman, and a bunch of other things. That’s because I’m a real man.

  124. Buc1987 Says:

Illuminati…he used to say the same sh!t like that when he was here.

  125. PRBucFan Says:

    Yes it could have Eric!!!

But anyone with eyes that has watched Free since he’s been here and watched him play EVEN WHILE under Schiano saw that his struggles often times were much deeper than scheme.

Just like most anyone here will say Schiano is in trouble right now

Most people here will tell you that Freeman screwed Freeman.

  126. Capt. Tim Says:

    Hawaiian,
Can you imagine what’s in this guys head?
” Josh will see my lil poster, and it will make him feel loved!! Then, he will teach Schiano to Coach!! They will win!! ”

“All because of me!! And my Lil Poster!!”

    Roflmao! What a weirdo!!
But I better be careful. He’s a real internet tough guy!!!

Gawd!! And mental cases like this walk the streets!!

Why don’t you go use your magic posters to help surgeons, or stop Traffic accidents!! Those kind of “magic Poster Powers” shouldn’t be wasted on games!!

I don’t mean to pry- but are you an X-man? An Avenger??
    PosterMan- lol

  127. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“I come to the site to talk about the Bucs. Not get into worthless spats with Silly Sally’s.”

    ——-

And you also come on this site and wish death upon people who say something you don’t like. I’ve had huge spats with Eric, Capt. Tim, and a bunch of others. I haven’t so much as wished for an ingrown toenail for any of those guys, and I’m pretty sure they feel the same way. Most civilized, rational people can separate a game from real life.

  128. Buc1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…nice to pull stuff up from July and August prior to watching Freeman underperform this season. Of course I was wrong in July and August. There is no need to post my past comments, I’m sure many people remember how I was back then. It’s no secret. I jumped off his bandwagon after the Saints game prior to him being benched. Not like I waited until he was benched and then thrown off the team to not like him anymore.

  129. WalkdaPlank Says:

Sorry Capt. Tim, but loads of fans (not just in the NFL but in every sport) bring signs and posters to a game. It’s a very common thing.

  130. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Capt. Tim,

LMAO. This guy takes the cake, that’s for sure. He strikes me as more of a Powerpuff girl.

  131. Kreator Says:

Freeman kinda dug his own grave but still ended up in greener pastures. Shiano did a terrible job handling the situation, he probably should have tried to make it work if actually planed on wining @ least a single game.

  132. Buc1987 Says:

Yah I’m a real weirdo…correct the same weirdo that had lots of fans coming up to me after putting up the banner telling me how awesome it was. The ones that actually DO go to the games.

  133. Buc1987 Says:

Banners and poster boards at football games? Wow I must be the 1st one to ever do such a thing. Maybe I started a new trend? Who would have thunk it?

  134. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Psycho1987,

Talking to you is like trying to rationalize with a 6 month old. You don’t comprehend anything. It’s not that you were wrong, it’s the way you chastise anyone for disagreeing with you, then try to cover it up (“I was just trying to build the poor bastard up”). No you weren’t trying to build him up, you were trying to see the package through those pewter pants. You wanted him to look up at you and blow you a big fat wet kiss. It would have made your day, and your miserable little life.

  135. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

You like to keep bringing up that I don’t go to games, even though I’ve gone to at least two every year. I rolled solo at New Orleans during Raheem’s first year. I’ve been to one game this year, with two more next month. I live 6000 miles away. I’ve even bought season tickets before, just to be a season ticket holder. Your punk arse just bought season tickets this year, and are complaining and wanting your tickets for half price! Now who’s the real fan again?

  136. PRBucFan Says:

And Joe scores again with another Freeman article.

And we wonder why he puts them up…

    Touché Joe Touché.

On another note whose taking FSU and whose taking Clemson?

  137. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Oh, I forgot, it’s YOUR team.

  138. Harry Says:

Some of you are totally messed up. It is one thing to argue and debate who is at fault with Free failing (I am of the opinion most, not all, of the responsibility belongs to Free). But to get so nasty as wishing death upon one another is f&#ked up. You are an embarrassment to Bucs fans everywhere.

  139. DomsAdvisor Says:

#1 I hope Freeman loses and performs terribly Monday Night.
#2 The Buc Organization did not want to franchise a ADHD QB who technically failed a drug test because of the Ritalin. So the plan was to get rid of Josh one way or another. Owners and Head Coach were involved.

  140. Couch Fan Says:

I just read a mock draft that had us picking 4th and we picked Zack Mettenberger with Boyd and Johnny Football on the board. At first I thought “What a ****** stupid pick that is” then I realized that we probably would do something idiotic like that. It’s tough being a Bucs fan.

  141. DomsAdvisor Says:

    @illuminati

Exactly. He had been saying that he wants to be great now… he never said that he wanted to be great in the 5 years he was with Tampa.

Now all of a sudden he decided to grow the f—’ up.

    Thanks Josh.

  142. PRBucFan Says:

    Couch I would cry.

I’m picking FSU by the way.

Being a Cane fan I want FSU at their best possible ranking when we face them :)

  143. Kreator Says:

I probably could use some of frees riddilin or Aderall or whatever the Hellll he’s on to watch the game Sun.

  144. Andrew 1 Says:

    @PR

how bout that Duke Johnson? that kid is something special. kind of reminds me of Clinton Portis a bit.

  145. Couch Fan Says:

Lol, Good luck with that. I’m a Gators Fan but Winston looks dam near unbeatable.

  146. Cmurda Says:

Well, I’m pulling for Freeman to suck balls Monday night. It will make me feel better about my team’s horrid season. Terrible? Yeah, I know it’s wrong. Sorry Josh.

  147. BigMacAttack Says:

My wife told I was a biggest weenie the other day and then she said not really, the mailman is.

  148. PRBucFan Says:

Man if he could stay healthy Andrew he’s going to be something special in the NFL.

Yea Couch, they are a scary team with him at the helm.

  149. BigMacAttack Says:

I swear I’m not drunk but I sure write like I am. It’s all Schiano’s fault.

  150. PRBucFan Says:

    Cmurda

I totally get where your coming from lol.

  151. Buc1987 Says:

PRBucFan…the Noles are going to run over the Canes like a Mac truck, same goes for Couch Fans Gators.

  152. Harry Says:

With each little news break, I have slowly been formulating my opinion on the failure of Free:

Without the need to attack anyone my feeling is that most of the blame goes to Free being mentally weak. This is evident in his play. I think Schitzano contributed, but most of it goes to Free. When things started to go bad, as far back as last year, Free got worse. The NFL QB job may be the most difficult on the entire face of the planet. It is HIGH pressure; you have to block out the environment (i.e.: critics); have to have short term memory as to failure/ but have to learn from ones mistakes.

At the end of 2012, Free had a rough finish. Then in the offseason, Schitzano piled on with all of his innuendoes. What does Free do? A total and complete collapse to begin 2013. And Free says: “Obviously, a place where I was coming from was a place where they didn’t see me as the guy. They didn’t see me as the guy that could get it done. You know, I strongly disagree with that. But at the same time, it’s not really my decision to make.”

I strongly/totally/completely disagree with the last point Free made. I use to coach. It is TOTALLY UP TO FREE TO FORCE THE DECISION ON HIS COACH. The player makes the coach’s decision for him. Free had every opportunity to MAKE SCHITZANO choose Free “as the guy”! If Free goes out their and does his job, which he is getting paid MILLIONS to do, who the heck do you think Schitzano is going to go with? Are some of you trying to say if Free played like Payton Manning that Schitzano would bench him? OMG, Free was 1-9 in his last 10 games? And in 2013 Free did not go above 50% passing completion.

    Please stop the foolishness.

  153. PRBucFan Says:

    Eat me 1987

    It’s all about the U!!!

  154. Harry Says:

Wow, that was way too long…

  155. Buc1987 Says:

The Canes got damned lucky last night. I was glad they won too. Same with me. I want them ranked nice and high for the beatdown.

  156. Couch Fan Says:

Now I just read Penn is having weight issues again. Joe any truth to this?

  157. Pete 422 Says:

The funny thing is that Schiano will most likely be out of a job with no guy. he got rid of the guy the franchise invested in, but they never brought in anybody who could bring out the best in Freeman.

  158. Buc1987 Says:

Welp I’m expecting Freeman to fall flat on his face on Monday. Not only wishing for it, expecting it.

  159. PRBucFan Says:

    Too late for excuses Pete

    He’s gone

  160. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Here’s where I stand on things:

I like Freeman as a person and as a football player I hope he realizes his true potential. Unlike King, Simms, Gradkowski and such, I suspect the Bucs getting rid of Freeman will be the cause of the QB Curse returning.

I think Tampa fans amd media turned on Josh, so its hypocritical to complain after they got their way.

I like Greg Schiano and as a person who actually BUYS tickets to most home games and a couple out of town games when I can travel, I would prefer keeping him a full three years barring him losing the locker room…which even though the media has claimed he has, it hasn’t actually happened yet. The media said the Revis would be the first to turn…yet judging from his radio show this week the entire team is fully behind Schiano and they could care less what the media says. Or the fans. They believe they are close to turning everything around.

I like the Schiano/Dominick drafting team. This year’s draft didn’t impress me at the time, but both Spence and Glennon have worked out so far. Banks is learnng amd improving.

  161. Buc1987 Says:

Is it just me or does Bridgewater’s mechanics look like shyte?

  162. Buc1987 Says:

Bonzai I have to say that you are one of my favorite posters on JBF. Never told ya that, but I always enjoy reading your posts.

  163. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Darn tablet.

I’m not saying Glennon is the future, bt he is looking at the very least like he may turn into a capable backup and maybe more. I still think the Bucs should draft a qb in the first round though. If Glennon works out, fine. But better to cover ourselves.

If any of the coaching staff should go I think it should be Sullivan. It’s his offense. Fans can holler all they want that Schiano is interfering with it…but it’s theory. And not one base on probability. Schiano is a DEFENSIVE coach. Yes, he probably told Sully from the start that he wants a running game and a spread offense. He probably makes a few decisions on the field. But watch Sullivan on the sidelines. He’s running that offense AND the offensive staff.

As I mentioned above, I would like to keep Schiano another year…but do I think it will happen? Unlikely. Probably about 65-35 against at this point. Losing the locker room would seal his fate.

But I also think a winning streak in the second half of the season will cause him to keep his job. If most of us are wrong about Glennon and he turns into some superstar qb Schiano (and Sully) will look lile geniuses.

  164. Kreator Says:

    Seminoles 31 Canes 17

” No you weren’t trying to build him up, you were trying to see the package through those pewter pants. You wanted him to look up at you and blow you a big fat wet kiss.”

LOL that is the post of the day

  166. Bobby Says:

@Hawaiian…yes, I was a Freeman supporter but I’m not stupid. Freeman was the only one who had anything to gain by leaking rumors. He was not going to get traded, he knew it and his agent knew it. The only way he gets out of Tampa is by creating such a circus that they get him out of the building so the circus stops. Notice that there haven’t been any rumors of players being disgruntled, etc. since he left? Now it’s just all about how badly Schiano handled Freeman and the MRSA. I saw a story on NFL.com today but they were dredging up an article they ran on Oct. 3rd. Now Freeman isn’t defending himself, he’s whining like it’s all the Bucs fault and none of his. He acts like the Vikings are such a quality organization but didn’t they do to Ponder what the Bucs did to him??? I don’t hear Ponder creating the turmoil Josh did.

The thing that’s so silly is I don’t even think Schiano is the guy who benched Freeman. I think that came from the Glazers and Dom. I think it was a good move and I think Schiano eventually WOULD have benched Freeman but once the Glazers decided they were done with Freeman I think they wanted to know what they had in Glennon. Don’t you think as businessmen the last thing in the world they wanted was a leak about Freeman’s medical condition and then have to let him go AND pay his contract?? If they had any inkling that it came from Schiano I don’t think he’d be coaching right now. I just don’t believe that someone who treated Eric Legrand the way Schiano did could be this Jekyll and Hyde the media is making him out to be. I have yet to hear one Buc player come out and say anything bad about Schiano other than a few disgruntled former players. If Schiano is this bully, dictator that the media is making him out to be then why isn’t our locker room in full revolt?? The media doesn’t like Schiano because he doesn’t have an affinity for the media. He deals with the media on his terms and they don’t like that. Just like the main stream media only reports what they want to report the sports pundits do the same. Doesn’t have to be the truth as long as it’s impossible to prove it’s a lie. “A source at One Buc told me” “One of the players told me” “My Sources in the organization say” and then on the occasion they do get called out for a falsehood as in the case of Revis when he said it was total BS that he was unhappy, they STILL reported that the story was accurate. How do you fight that crap? And when you’re losing everybody want to believe the worst. I give the guy the benefit of the doubt because I have yet to hear the players come out against him and that’s the only ones I care about.

  167. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Buc1987 Says
“Bonzai I have to say that you are one of my favorite posters on JBF. Never told ya that, but I always enjoy reading your posts.”

  168. PRBucFan Says:

I didn’t say the FSU Cane game yet!!!

    Sheesh haters. Ahahaha :D

I asked for tomorrows game predictions FSU Clemson hahaha

  169. Vincente Says:

I would rather have freeman throwing than this other guy. (I know his name but he won’t be starting after this season so I could care less about him) Of course it doesn’t matter cause in the second half we don’t score and the defense can’t hang. I really don’t understand what’s going on. On film it looks repetitive. Same thing every week. Hopefully the team gets it together. I’ll be in Tampa November 11th for Monday night game directly behind then bench. Oh and il be wearing my freeman jersey too!

  170. Jacque Says:

    THIS IS AN ECHO CHAMBER!
    Bottom Line:
Freeman was totally Vanilla in that interview and said Glennon was a good talent and wished him well. Indicated he has friends for life on the Bucs

The Man Did not want to play for Schiano and it was Mutual.
Freeman wanted freedom to choose his own destiny and was clever enough to get his Money and his way! JOSH ALSO BEAT THE BUCCANEERS this year so call them 0-6

  171. PRBucFan Says:

BamBam can be pretty long winded ahaha

Your much more objective than him :)

  172. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I would like to see Sully call more first down pass plays, 2nd down runs and vary the third down runs and passes.

Pass, run, run historically has an over 90% success rate on moving the chains.

  173. Splengo Says:

You can always tell fans of a football team with a losing record. They are willing to talk about anything and I mean anything……except their football team! SMDH!

  174. BuccaneerBrutus Says:

@vicente It’s Glennon and you might as well be a Vikings Fan Wearing a #12 Jersey . I don’t see why fans won’t let Freeman go I did and am glad he’s gone

  175. BuccaneerBrutus Says:

We will beat a crappy Falcups team and Panthers team

  176. PRBucFan Says:

    Huh?

  177. Christopher Says:

I’m sorry, who cares about any of this…we got our own “your an idiot” phrase in here. So exciting! ;o)

  178. BuccaneerBrutus Says:

Falcups is what I call The falcons like Falcons +F*#kUps lol

  179. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bobby,

There have been players complaining off the record since Freeman left, just like before he left. None of the players are going to put their names on it, because they want to keep their jobs. If there is one thing Schitler has proven, he will cut anyone, regardless of their ability or contract. Gotta give him that.

  180. BuccaneerBrutus Says:

Remember when Josh couldn’t find 3rd and 4th options and threw 5picks to the Bears LB’s ? Remember Under the Coach that didn’t Want him he had Career #s lol

  181. Illuminati Says:

    @ BuccaneerBonzai

Pass, run, run historically has an over 90% success rate on moving the chains.

    Source?

    I mean, c’mon.

  182. BuccaneerBrutus Says:

Um who Donald Penn ? Nobody cares and complains

  183. Buc1987 Says:

Yeah BamBam’s posts are long winded, but his are good too. Bonzai maybe it’s the homerism in you that I like about your posts. Oh well carry on people.

  184. Buc1987 Says:

Vincente…be creative with the jersey. Many fans are putting duct tape over the word “man” on the jersey and replacing it with something funny. Like one dude has FreeMRSA…another had Free At Last. Some dude actually turned the 5 into and 8 and taped Glennon over Freeman’s name. I also saw Free-dom. There was a few more I just can’t remember them all.

  185. Pete 422 Says:

I’m not making excuses, just pointing out the failures of ownership and the GM. They invest in a guy, but don’t hire the right guys to bring Freeman along.

My gut feeling is there will be a very savvy and creative OC who will get has hands on Freeman and make him a success.

  186. PRBucFan Says:

In life you make due with what you have.

Freeman has been in the league 5 years

He should have progressed by his own means much more than he did

  187. coach80m Says:

To the poster who mentions QB mechanics. Could you be more explicit as to what you mean, and cite some specific examples. If you know something about mechanics could you please be good enough to explain it. I like to learn things.

To the poster talking about revolting with the clubhouse. Do you really expect any of these players to say anything publicly, and depending on how talented they are, have the guts to say anything thing negative about this ignorant bully.

  188. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Just remember that Alex Smith was considered a bust for his first 6 years in the NFL. Amazing what coaching can do if the talent is there. Not saying Freeman will be great, but don’t be shocked if he is much better.

  189. Andrew 1 Says:

they probably wouldnt say anything publicly, but the fact that they are still playing hard tells me there is no revolting. yes the wins aren’t there, but they are still playing hard. its up to Schiano to turn that hard work into wins. we will see if he does.

  190. PRBucFan Says:

I didn’t mention mechanics but you can just google Jaws and Freeman mechanics and he’s got breakdowns for you.

And they are Two different people Hawaiian

Alex Smith also never got progressively worse

  191. PRBucFan Says:

I’ve said before I’ll say it again, Freeman can play great games.

    That’s no shocker.

His only deal, being able to do it for a whole season.

2010 was his only complete season

If he can do that again he’ll hush his doubters. Hell, actually, he probably won’t till he can do it back to back season. We’ll see, but he’s got a long way to go.

  192. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Like I said, just don’t be surprised. It will be interesting

  193. BigMacAttack Says:

    UCF beat Louisville

  194. PRBucFan Says:

We’ll see in a year or two from now, it should be interesting.

  195. Cmurda Says:

I’m not sold that Schiano (Schitler. LMAO @ Hawaiian. That was excellent) hasn’t lost the locker room. I was a Schiano apologist from the beginning wishing the man to be the Michael Jordan of NFL coaching. That certainly has been far from the case. I’ve gone on record asking for his walking papers. The ensuing circus and more than anything, pathetic record is all I need to see. I reserve the right to jump back on the Schiano bandwagon but I’m long off of it now. He has to prove it to the fans and players starting now. Nothing but wins can fix this mess and it better be consecutive wins with a far better offense. Lose to the Cards at home and get humiliated vy Foles and the Eagles? At Ray Jay? Eff that. I wanted Schottenheimer and he wanted us. That could still be the case.

  196. Buc1987 Says:

Cmurda…I wanted Schotty too. So much that my wife got tired of hearing his name.

  197. buc4lyfe Says:

Damn crazy buc fans…talking down in Freeman but you won’t realize how stupid but was to release josh freeman unless glennon gets hurts

  198. coach80m Says:

Did a google on Josh’s mechanics. Good explanation for his footwork, but not much on his arm mechanics, which in my opinion has to do with his low throwing elbow. Like many QBs he holds the ball low; consequently, there are many extra movements before he cocks his arm to throw. Watch Peyton Manning and how he holds the ball with 2 hands and the ball is up high near ear level. That’s why his throwing motion is so quick. If a MLB pitcher can be taught better mechanics, then why didn’t Turner and McNulty of Rutgers fame work on his mechanics. Personally, having a Kinesiology background, I think that one would need courses on mechanics along with a lot of evaluation of athletes with good mechanics.

You’re damn right I’m still angry that Josh got the bum’s rush from that ridiculous example of a coach. I will definitely be watching Monday night’s game hoping that he does really well.

  199. Vincente Says:

    @buc1987
Already working on something for the jersey lol anyone come up with anything creative can me help out. Put a little humor in a sour situation. I love my bucs though don’t want anyone to think I’m not. Ima die a bucs fan.

  200. Kreator Says:

Hopefully the next so called franchise QB we draft in the first round isn’t gonna have ADHD or some other psychological ailment. Hopefully we will have a HC by then that knows a thing or two about developing QBs. There’s always hope as a bucs fan.

  201. Jim Says:

Bottom line, if Schiano would have traded or dumped Freeman before the draft I would not have a problem. He would have had the all the OTA’s and camp to develop his guy. Us stupid season ticket holders are paying full price to attend extended pre-season games.

  202. MadMax Says:

Good grief WTH is with you guys turning on Buc1987 like that? Buc4lyfe wished an injury to Glennon who just may be our starter for a while, and like a Buc Fan, Buc1987 responded with hoping he would get injured….and he didnt say “I hope you get killed”…..back the fk off guys, damn!

  203. MadMax Says:

Giants get their first win Monday night….man I wish I was off to see it. I’ll see the replay though.

  204. Chef Paul Says:

Man, as pissed off as I am at this whole regime, if I were a season ticket holder, I would probably be as mad at this team as I’ve ever been at anything. Especially if this was the first season I bought them, expecting a good year. That’s the bummer. If a guy saw this coming like realist, it probably wouldn’t be so frustrating. Failed expectations is the whole bummer

  205. MadMax Says:

@PR, Im going with Famous Jameis….think they win by quite a bit….Clemson is overrated.

  206. MadMax Says:

Right Chef, and not everyone is blessed with the $$ to afford season tix. I know I couldnt right now. But its my team, and even though I cant be there for the games, Im all in this with my passion and time….nobody can take that away from me ;)

  207. MadMax Says:

Im still fn pissed about shridan and his chirping comment, what a slap to the face of the fans who care enough to delve that deep into play calling, assignments, decisions, timing, managing….HOW DARE US!!! ROFLMAO!!!

Its getting to him…..Im liking it.

  208. MadMax Says:

@BigMac, yeah, that QB for UCF is one to watch…..a guy at work was telling they’ll win, and boy was he right…..I’ll def be watching the replay of that one this weekend!

  209. SteveK Says:

I agree with the “chirping” comment. It is funny, if you win. When you are 0-5, and you start taking jabs and wise ass remarks, it is all good if we win.

If we get beat, and are left without answers again, then our coaches have Thursday night to potentially save their jobs.

Dominick will be replaced if this team collapses. No way around it.

  210. MadMax Says:

SteveK, Im waiting for the whole thing to implode….and what a sad state of mind for me (and anyone else) to be feeling this way. I had so much high hopes for us this season….

Look, Im ok with disappointing results, and disappointment in general…..but as an everyday “Joebucfan” this mess has sank deeper than whale $hit….other than some bright spots in certain players, theres absolutely nothing to enjoy about the Bucs right now.

Well, other than seeing a DC getting a little perturbed by us, lol.

  211. Buc1987 Says:

Max…thanks for having my back. These fools do get out of hand from time to time. To me it shows their ignorance. I actually really DON’T care what they think of me or the sign that I made. Especially when I had fans that were at the game in my section that thought is was cool as sh!t. It wasn’t jocj sniffing or whatever they call it. Freeman was getting bashed left and right by every analyst in America over the summer. I just felt like it would help my team if Josh knew that their fans out there that still supported him. I can only do so much as fan. Like last week’s game. I hollering and pounding on the seat in front me like a mad man. I turn around and I see about 6-7 Buc fans 3 rows up just sitting there with their hands in their lap. That’s the typical Buc fan base. So I can understand why Lt. Tim and Hawaii 5-0 want to talk smack about me.
I’m very passionate about my team and I will anything I can to help it, which is very little. I also stood by the escalators for about an hour before the Saints game holding up a sign that said the Bucs need you to be loud today. Trying to fire the fans up before they even got to their seats. Like I said I can only do so much.

  212. Tim Church Says:

“I can only do so much!”

    Lmao!!
    Still lmao!!

The newest Powderpuff girl, and savior to the Glazers football team!
    “PosterMan!”

His cardboard weapons, striking fear in the Hearts of Evil Fans everywhere!
    With his fearsome battle cry
” I hope you wrap your car around a pole!”
    “It’s POSTERMAN!”

  213. Brandon Says:

Peyton Manning couldn’t get it done in Tampa running Sullivan’s plays from the 80′s. Eli isn’t getting it done where Sullivan’s mentor is the OC. This offense stinks and it is clearly because of poor play design and calls.

  214. MadMax Says:

At times Buc1987 we had our battles…but thats just what happens, and we go back and forth and we learn from it…and we realize we have the most common denominator involved…..and that is ALL OF US, WOULD NOT BE HERE, if it WASNT for the BUCS and being a FAN!!!!!

We’re all gonna fight at times, sometimes act like goons, $hit especially during this dire time we’re in….HAHAHA and add drinking to it, and $hit sometimes gets big! But in the end we’re here, and have that in common!!

  215. Bobby Says:

    @Jim says:

“Bottom line, if Schiano would have traded or dumped Freeman before the draft I would not have a problem. He would have had the all the OTA’s and camp to develop his guy. Us stupid season ticket holders are paying full price to attend extended pre-season games.”

    _______________________________________________________________

Last I checked coaches don’t trade or dump players. That’s the GM’s job.

  216. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Yeah, people don’t die when there car gets wrapped around a telephone poll. Can you and your boyfriend keep your Internet love making to yourselves please?

  217. Bobby Says:

@Hawaiian…”If there is one thing Schitler has proven, he will cut anyone, regardless of their ability or contract. Gotta give him that.”

    _______________________________________________________________

You do realize that GM’s do all the hiring and firing of players right? Look, you seem to have your mind made up on what you want to believe. You believe all the rumor and inuendo you want when it comes to Schiano. I’ll do the same when it comes to Freeman. When it comes to either one it’s only opinion because their is no concrete evidence to support your side or mine. I just know that players don’t play hard for the type of coach you’re describing and these guys are still united and playing hard. As far as being afraid to speak out…c’mon, what a load of BS that is. You telling me Donald Penn is afraid of Schiano?? Vincent Jackson is afraid of getting benched?? Gerald McCoy?? That is a pathetic argument. If there was dissention on the level the media is talking about they wouldn’t need ‘anonymous’ sources… It would be very easy for the players to get rid of Schiano if they wanted him gone. The fans want him gone, the media wants him gone…if they just jumped on the band wagon he’d be history. That’s not happening. I wonder why….

  218. BigMacAttack Says:

I agree that it was stupid to release Froman because they guy nothing in return. It was a total bonehead move by Schiano, even though Dom went along. Freeman may have been a cancer but Sciano is a truckload of Lucky Strikes. Still whatever Free is a Phag.

  219. Bobby Says:

“Yeah, people don’t die when there car gets wrapped around a telephone poll.”

    ________________________________________________________________

No, you’re right. That would take a telephone POLE. A simple questionaire about telephones never killed anybody….

  220. Bobby Says:

“I agree that it was stupid to release Froman because they guy nothing in return. It was a total bonehead move by Schiano, even though Dom went along.”

    ________________________________________________________________

And you know Schiano was behind this HOW?? Last I checked the Glazers pay the checks. If Freeman got let go it was because the Glazers made that call, not Schiano and not Dom. If I’m letting somebody go and still paying them 6 mil that’s not a decision I’m letting anyone else make. Still, if it makes sense to you then believe what you want to believe.

  221. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bobby,

If you believe that Schiano isn’t a part of cutting and trading players, then you aren’t paying attention. He has said as much. They make the decisions together. And if you’ve been paying attention, I’ve said firing Dominik is completely justifiable.

  222. PRBucFan Says:

This thread should just die out

No wonder Joe puts these FreeFall threads up

  223. Bobby Says:

“If you believe that Schiano isn’t a part of cutting and trading players, then you aren’t paying attention. He has said as much. They make the decisions together. And if you’ve been paying attention, I’ve said firing Dominik is completely justifiable.”

    ________________________________________________________________

You are ignoring the people who really make the decisions….the Glazers. If you remember Schiano said on a Monday that Freeman was the starter. On Tuesday he had a meeting with Dominik and suddenly Glennon was the starter. I don’t see that as something that came from the bottom up, I see that as something that came from the top down.

  224. Illuminati Says:

Anybody who thinks the Glazers weren’t fully involved in the decsioins made regarding Freeman is completely delusional.

  225. Illuminati Says:

    ^^^
    decisions

  226. MadMax Says:

Hawaiian, (not my boyfriend, so calm down) but if thats all it took to set you off on that tangent, Im worried about you Bro. Look, Im not going to go back and forth with you…..so have at it….

  227. MadMax Says:

You know what, I thought about it, and wrapping a vehicle around a pole IS pretty gotdam dramatic…..but NONE of us here is allowed to have a moment where we say something dramatic? I completely get you Hawaiian, poor as hell taste in posting such a comment, but we’re all pissed about our Bucs right now, drinking, and drinking while mad….I dont know man, you’re going to have your way with it. (and it doesnt excuse the bullying you sank yourself to afterwards)

Me personally, it didnt bother me much because its an internet posting on a forum for fans of a football team. I’ll admit, Ive said IN PERSON to someone A LOT worse than ANYTHING thats been posted here. Why? I was indentured to it…in an environment that I grew up in, forced upon me…but who really cares….

Maybe you werent forced in such an environment, lucky you….

  228. BigMacAttack Says:

Just remember we’re all on the same side here.

If anyone wishes to bully me after today’s game, pending outcome, that is fine. I doesn’t bother me and you can’t hurt my feelings any more than our lousy coach has already.
