“Good For Him To Be So Hard On Himself”

October 18th, 2013

There’s a lot of respect for No. 8 out there. The young man is appreciated.

It’s impossible to deny that Mike Glennon has a done an admirable job in a brutally tough situation. He walked into a mess as a rookie and didn’t add to it. He’s even scoring strong grades from tough critics.

Donald Penn talked this week about how Glennon has a tough time with the losing and veterans have invested time pumping up his spirits.

“That’s good for him to be so hard on himself, too. That’s going to take us a lot further,” Penn said.

Joe’s very interested to see how Glennon develops and how he handles intense pressure.Trips to Atlanta and Seattle over the next three games will be telling.

Mike Glennon will continue to improve. It remains to be seen if he can play at an extremely high level. We may have a difficult decision with next year’s draft if he doesn’t.
My hope is that he does and that we get him some weapons at TE & 3WR. And….it looks like we need some pieces on the O-line for him.

Good! Athletes who hate to lose normally work as hard as they can to make sure they win. That is what we need in a QB! That’s what we need in every player on the field.

I really like this kid. It would be so awesome if he worked out. That would give us basically a free first round pick to get whoever we please. I just hope it’s a definite if he’s starter material or not. So we aren’t wasting years like we did with he who shall not be named

  4. Lev Says:

If Joe Flacco and Alex Smith can win then so can Mike Glennon. Hell I like him more than those two.

  5. Macabee Says:

I like what I see in Mike Glennon too, but he has to win what looks like a winnable game in Atlanta. The next 2 games against the Panthers and the Seahawks are teams that may have the best front sevens in the league. And the SeaHawks have arguably the best secondary in the league. That’s going to be a lot of pressure on a young QB with no wins. Atlanta is a must win! Go Bucs!

It’s all about Ws; this is the QB that the coach (who may not be here next year) said gave the team the best chance to win. We shall see

At least some players are still trying to stay positive. Mike Glennon could develop into a decent QB but not with Schiano running a poor man west coast offense…

Cause we were getting W’s with the previous options??? LoL No, we weren’t.

It’s all about his progression “this year” more than anything. That’s usually how it works with rookies.

    Option*

So far this guy has been part of the solution and not part of the problem. Glennon has put all the distractions aside and is focused on winning.
    It’s what leaders do.
Hope the kid sparks the team and brings the positive vibe this locker room so sorely needs right now. The Vets will forgive rookie mistakes if his head and heart are in the right place. And the big kicker is if he does not repeat the same mental mistakes over and over. What impresses me the most is his reading the coverage and not missing the wide open receiver.
Our embattled coach’s future is pinned to Glennon’s success.

Since paper bags are not allowed in NFL stadiums anymore. I’m wondering how I can wear one on Thursday night. Anyone have any ideas? It’s either that or I’m going to make up one helluva powerful poster board. Hey I got on the jumbotron for the 1st time ever last week. That was just about the only cool thing that’s happened for me this season.

Anyways, does anyone have any ideas for the poster board? I’m thinking just 2 words short and brief. Something like. THIS SUCKS!

    @Buc1987

    how about “Go Bucs!”

but hold it upside down all game.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

Realist…lol that’s so funny, but it almost makes me want to cry.

  14. The_Buc_Realist Says:

you would not be crying if most did not overrate the bucs. they are about where i thought they were, and i am still excited that if a couple breaks happen that they could still pull out 3-4 wins!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!

  15. Buc1987 Says:

“if a couple breaks happen that they could still pull out 3-4 wins!!!”

    I’ll take em.

    Sure they are.

Don’t remember Josh Freeman beating himself up after a loss LOL…….ANY LOSS

  18. Couch Fan Says:

What is there not to like about this guy?

As I said before and I’ll stick to it, whether we get a new HC/GM at the end of the season or not, We won’t need to draft a 1st round QB. Sorry to disappoint you. This guy is our future. GO BUCS!!

  19. chickster Says:

It will take this year and part of next until you will really know but what I do think we do need new leadership we are the laughing stocks of the league right now
