Third Buccaneers’ MRSA Case Confirmed

October 11th, 2013

Per Buccaneers.com, “a third Tampa Bay Buccaneers player has been diagnosed with a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection.”

This is really getting ugly. The Bucs just can’t seem to get a handle on this dangerous MRSA mess.

Lawrence Tynes and Carl Nicks were before the season, and the Nicks is re-infected and now a third case (at least) looms. Bucs rockstar general manager has a scheduled news conference on the MRSA mess shortly.

Per the Bucs, “Duke Infection Control Outreach Network (DICON) Co-Director Dr. Deverick J. Anderson, recognized as the country’s leading authority on infections disease control, addressed the team and Buccaneers staff earlier on Friday. Over the past two months the Buccaneers organization has been working with the world-renowned DICON and other infectious disease specialists to treat and educate its players, sanitize its training facility and install new health and safety protocol.”

Never a dull moment. It would be nice if perhaps one story could be good news.

  2. lightningbuc Says:

May be Banks – he wasn’t at practice today it is being reported.

  3. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Yeah, that’s who I think it is too. Problem is, how many other players have it too and just don’t know it yet?

  4. BirdDoggers Says:

The Bucs organization really needs to get a handle on this. It appears they’re taking the right steps, but another infected player is a problem.

I linked to Buccaneers.com and could see some little amoeba like things crawling on my laptop screen. I immediately powered down and fixed another Jack on the rocks. Lol

This season is convincing me to never have high hopes for a season ever again. At least if you expect rock bottom everything that isn’t bad news is a positive. This season has, to say the least, been a disaster.

Cant you even imagine the circus if it were Glennon?

    Splengo,

I’m wondering if I should touch anything on Sunday at Raymond James. Maybe I’ll bring one of those flimsy paper things some public toilet stalls have to protect your butt cheeks to put in my seat.

This is getting scary. I think we’re cursed.

  12. Big Rob Says:

MRSA is serious stuff. It might be the next plague. It’s not like of hey let me go bleach everything. I believe they truly are doing everything they can. Anyone placing blame on the Bucs for this is just ignorant.

  13. King diamond Says:

I never knew so much about MRSA until now.

The Raheem years are starting to look like the good old days.

  16. SteveK Says:

    Big Rob,

What is “ignorant” is the way the Bucs screwed over K Lawrence Tynes. He deserves the year of service, but the Bucs tried to hose him too.

The Bucs are my team, but we suck right now and we need to get to the bottom of the BS barrell.

  17. Richard Says:

Maybe the Bucs feel Tynes did something to bring the MRSA into the building, which is why they didn’t give him the year of service?

    Laughingstock…

Dr. Mercola’s site is a wealth of information on many health topics. He also talks about a new superbug, CRE, now on the rise that is even harder to deal with and more lethal than MRSA.

We should probably just forfeit the rest of the season to save the further embarrassment. Maybe dissolve the whole franchise at this point.
