Josh Freeman Fined $31,500

October 2nd, 2013

Yup, another day, another chapter in the circus that has become the Bucs.

Earlier today we learned that the Bucs, reportedly, videotape team members on the sidelines of games to ensure they behave properly.

Tonight, Jim Trotter of SI.com claims Freeman has been fined by the team for “conduct detrimental.”

Add another layer to the ongoing feud between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Josh Freeman, as SI has learned that Freeman has been fined twice by the club in the last month, including once in the last week, for conduct detrimental to the team. The infractions include missing at least one team meeting and participating in an unauthorized media interview. According to a source, Freeman plans to appeal the fines.

That was followed up by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times Twittering that Freeman was fined over $30,000 for the infractions.

@NFLSTROUD: #Bucs QB Josh Freeman was fined at least twice for a total of $31,500. He is appealing. $10,500 was for his unauthorized ESPN interview

Well now. “At least” two infractions? The soap opera wheels continue to turn at One Buc Palace.

It’s to the point Joe doesn’t want to sleep for fear of missing the next shoe dropping in this seemingly never-ending saga.

Well he has no shot of winning the appeal for the media skipping fine, thats pretty much NFL mandated. Curious what the other $20,000 was for.

Otherwise you’re in the minority (I hope) Joe. This thing needs to end, I don’t care about what’s next. I just want this to die already.

I hope the Glazers do something and remove the clown they hire as a HC gee I though Rah was a bad coach Singano is a complete joke and a failure.

  5. Harry Says:

this would only be funny if it were someone else’s team….

  6. BucsQcCity Says:

    So much drama for nothing

    The solution is so simple:

Release Freeman, fire Schiano, promote Wanstedd for the rest of the year.

My fear is that the young good players get so fed up that they ask to leave.. McCoy new contract is coming soon and he’s now saying that he’s sorry to opposing players on the field for the stupidity of the agression on victory formation..

2 move would solve all the bad press after a couple days…

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I could be wrong but I think the fine is levied by Dominick….not Schiano

  8. JH Says:

    @Harry

    HaHa. Very true.

  9. Splengo Says:

I should have known. Follow the money. So that’s what this is all about. They’re trying to “foment mischief by decree”. They want to keep the 6mil that is owed to Freeman by forcing him into a default. The NFL and NFLPA is not going to stand by and let this shakedown happen. Up to now, I’ve held no malice towards Dominik. But if he is a party to this, a pox on his house too!

  10. kh Says:

    Agree with your solution BucsQc

Don’t agree about the players leaving in free agency though, our money is as green as every one else in the league.

Proof that Josh Freeman is not a Buccaneer Man.

  12. 1976Buc Says:

It seems Schiano has taken the love of the game away. Yes these players make big money but I’ve never known one that didn’t love the game.

  13. Christopher Says:

Can anyone explain to me why Schiano is such a bad coach?? You guys are basing everything on speculation. Where is the proof that Schiano is doing a lot of this?? Has he come out and said he fined him?? Do you have proof on paper that he has done any of this. Everything is speculation. I want a detailed reason why Schiano is a horrible coach. He has only been with the team for one season basicly and what? 19 games??

Freeman is not that great of a quarterback. He has put down some great numbers but tell where he has taken the team since 2010? Don’t you people want to win games? A QB and the head coach are the hearts of the team and without them there is not a team. Besides, Schiano is more of a defensive coach than anything else. Mike Sullvian should be taking a lot of the heat for the offensive plays here as far as games go. You can not blame everything on the fucking head coach because its not only his decision but also the owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  14. Doc Says:

If Freeman is detrimental to the team cut the man.

  15. Doc Says:

Cut him so he can go play for a real football G.M. and coach.

  17. Bert Says:

This needs to come to a swift end. Unless my Bucs have decided to tank the season and use Freeman as their patsy, this needs to end. Send Josh home.

  18. john Says:

if my teams losing i dont want guys on the sideline all happy and smiling and joking around.

  19. Splengo Says:

If Schiano still had some control of the locker room, it’s gone now. These players get it, they know Josh is not going to be the QB. They also know it’s a business. But to a man, everybody in that locker room like Josh Freeman, the person. This is going to put the smell of a dead mackerel in that locker room. SMDH.

  20. 911bucs Says:

Something big has to break soon. Either a firing or release of a QB. This drama is getting absolutely ridiculous. I’m actually beginning to feel a little sorry for Freeman.

  21. Jerry Says:

The ghost of Hugh Culverhouse has come back to haunt One Buc Place causing untold turmoil and stupid decisions. A good exorcism is in order to save the franchise!

  22. @travisbray Says:

I’m embarrassed. I’m frustrated. I’m disappointed. Embarrassed with everything surrounding the team that I love. Frustrated and disappointed that senior management and ownership has allowed this freak show to continue. Where are the Glaziers and Dominic? Why is our head coach still allowed to come to work? Why has Coach Schiano not been disciplined for conduct detrimental to the team?
Schiano’s mantra of trust, belief and accountability is a farce. How does his micro-managing style convey trust or belief? Accountability…sure…however it is not genuine, or promoting positivity within the organization. His management style is motivated out of fear, because he is a control freak. Leading out of fear will always promote failure.

  23. BucsQcCity Says:

    @Christopher

    – 0-4 this season
    – Predicted a double digit sacks year for Bowers which also led to letting Bennet walk away
    – Horrible stunts schemes that makes Clayborn and Bowers going east-west instead of direct to the passer
    – 2 games this year over 100 yards of penalties
    – miscommunication on sideline
    – Using Revis in zone coverage way too often to maximize what he can bring
    – Destroyed any chance for Freeman to become the one the Bucs needed this year
    – National Media Meltdown that put the Bucs Franchise in a very bad spotlight
    – Bad overall preseason preparation for the starters
    – I can’t even understand why Means played on defense last sunday. He’s a project for at least a couple year
    – Got robbed twice by Belicheck with Blount and Talib
    – Let go Wright and relied on LJ for #2 CB.
    – Blame everyone for failure and take credit for whatever good thing happen
-Strong bias for coaches/assistants ( near 40% of the staff last time I checked on the buccaneers site) and players
    – Bad talent evaluation lead to lack of depth in general
    -Outcoached
    -Jerk call on victory formation

The circus going on is so depressing.. I don’t even live in the US and I paid 250$ for NFL GamePass to see every game of the Bucs but I don’t even want to see them anymore.. Anyway, I’m thinking that Glazer will move but not until the next game.. Since the week is already started, they probably don’t want to look like being pressed by the media to fire him. Another loss will seal its fate IMO

  24. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Christopher

The short answer to your question is 0-4…..even 1-3 or 2-2 the heat would be off Schiano. So, losing 3 games by 6 points is on him no matter if it was
    LVD vs Jets
    Lindel vs Saints
    Glennon vs Cardinals

Or Sully in all three games!!!

  25. Bert Says:

    Why did they bench Josh?
He wasn’t the reason we lost 2 out of 3 games?

  26. Cmurda Says:

I don’t see Schiano making it to our next game. Every day there’s something else and it’s not good. This circus has to end and that locker room is in shambles. Where there is smoke, there is fire.

  27. Raphael Says:

Bert ….careful … The haters here don’t like intelligence .

  28. Bert Says:

Why would I be hated for asking a question?

  29. Raphael Says:

Cmurda…….I think Schiano has done a lot of bad stuff…….and the media is circling . The national media and that ain’t good. The truth will come out soon

  30. buc4lyfe Says:

That isnt NFL mandated, its schiano mandated there cant be this many gullible bucs fans

Schiano has lost the locker room and all it took was the players on the team to start feeling sorry for him like we do….I can almost guarantee he lost his defensive players so dont be surprised if the defense starts to fall off…they are so talented even brian cox or anyone could run this defense so schiano doesnt get credit for that

He lost his players when he came out and said the kneel is in the playbook but he wouldnt run it if the players told him they didnt want to. we all know they didnt want to last year because he wouldnt have called 2 timeouts and yelled and screamed at them on air for the world to watch. One of the cardinal players said gerald mccoy and the line said were coming then they were apologizing which is why there was fighting or cheap shots thrown like the giants did. YEA this was a glazers hire and it would be pretty pathetic if they started letting their stars get traded just to rebuild for another 6 years all because you want to keep this coach who’s clearly over his head. raheem morris was a better coach and loved by the players and they quit on him so it’ll happen to schiano

  31. Cmurda Says:

I got a question too. If Josh is so good and our woes are due to just a few bad plays, then why is there zero interest from 31 teams on even giving up a measly 7th rd pick? Come on. Josh sucks. He’ll be nothing more than a backup at best the rest of his career.

  32. Raphael Says:

Bert…because there are trolls here who hate and blame everything on Freeman… They don’t understand that Freeman had us winning those games …they don’t comprehend intelligence like the rest of us….

  33. Hawaiian Buc Says:

What do you know, fining him for conduct detrimental to the team. Who would’ve thunk it? If I didn’t know any better, I’d believe that perhaps they were setting the stage to Keyshawn him. But nah, they wouldn’t want that. That would hurt his trade value. Schiano will stop at nothing to keep his trade value up, right guys? I don’t have a clue, I’m just floating out conspiracy theories, without any facts. You got me!

  34. Raphael Says:

Cmurda…your wrong about that bud. He has 9 franchise records and gave us the lead in the first 2 games….he will go to another team and be successful there. The business side if football is what is holding it up.

You will be proven wrong like a lot of other haters here

  35. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“That isnt NFL mandated, its schiano mandated there cant be this many gullible bucs fans”

    ———-

Oh, you’d be surprised at how gullible some people are. Buc1987 thinks he’s Dungy 2.0. He’s got complete control of this situation in their eyes.

  36. Hawaiian Buc Says:

This issue is not about how good or how bad Freeman is. I don’t care if we cut Freeman or keep him. I don’t care if he never plays another down or he ends up being a Hall of Famer. It’s not about that. This is about a dictator ruining this organization and the team we all love. How much longer are we going to have to put up with this?

  37. Cmurda Says:

I’m no hater. I root for whoever wears the Pewter and I rooted hard for Josh. I’m a realist.

  38. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Bert

He was benched for 4 years of inconsistancy.
This is just my opinion…but I think the benching came from upstairs Dom/Glazers…..I think Schiano was going to play him at least against Arizona but was called off…then Schiano said he would be number 2 and then got called off on that. Why now?…..my opinion…I don’t think they wanted to take a chance that Josh would be “on again, off again” through the rest of the season…thus creating a dilema/controversy for next year…I think they wanted to dump Freeman in the off-season but couldn’t get their price and couldn’t get Palmer or a suitible replacement.
Again…just my opinion….and it makes as much sense as any other possibility.

  39. Tony Says:

    @Raphael

Did you call a local sports radio show today?

  40. Cmurda Says:

It’s also a reality that Schiano’s game doesn’t work in the NFL. His record is crap in close games and we are 0-4 to start this year. As bad as that is, this is only his 2nd year. he shouldn’t be fired for that. he should be fired for losing the team and the circus that has resulted around him. He needs to be fired immediately.

  41. Raphael Says:

    Tony…nope , wasn’t me

  42. Bert Says:

I don’t claim to be all that geeky about football but this has gotten depressing. Two of my friends who are more into Buc stats have been at each others throats. They take it way to seriously, and look like they want to hurt each other. I’m bigger than both so I have to play referee and separate them.

I’ve got a couple questions to ask to use on my friends

    my questions are

Why did the Bucs bench Josh when he wasn’t the reason we lost 2 out of 3 games?

Is our coach going to lose his job?

And how long is this going to last? I’m thinking about taking vacation time and just let them rip each other apart.

Its rather sad because all 3 of us are Buc fans. 🙁

  43. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Cmurda,

Exactly, 100% correct. That’s what I’ve been saying all along. Glad someone else gets it.

  44. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Bert

Your first question presumes that he wasn’t “one” of the reasons why we lost the first two games…….many believe he was because the Offense was so poor early in both games.

To the second question….tell them to ask the Glazers instead of us or you…because anyone here that says they know the answer to that is fooling themself

Question 3 is the easiest….until we win or someone is fired

  45. Bert Says:

So you are saying that the Glazers benched him because we were in danger of him possibly winning a game. I’m no genius but isn’t that contradictory. I thought the ideal was to win. I’m confused ..anyone else?

  46. Raphael Says:

    Bert ,

    1. Because Schiano totally destroyed this team, (truthfully it doesn’t make sense why he benched Freeman).
The guy is a box of rocks and most likely didn’t know why they were testing Freeman, so being a control freak he figured it wrong.
    2. Yes sooner the better
    3. This will go on as long as Schiano is here….joe is happy about that
    4. Just sit back and watch your friends rip each other apart…please don’t stop them..violence is good !

  47. Bert Says:

thanks man at least that sounds a little more plausible considering all the hoopla. I’m gonna copy and print this and use it as talking points and see if i can at least sound like i got some sense. So maybe I can talk sense into them if not.

They can destroy each other and I’ll roll and smoke em when they finish lol

  48. bucrightoff Says:

The offense is a disgrace. 5 TDs let up by our defense in 4 games,2 of those set up by turnovers by the offense. Its the worst offense in the league, Jacksonville doesn’t count because they are obviously tanking. Freeman has been awful since 6-4 last year for no discernible reason. He needed to see the bench.

Its nice that Raphael and those like him are cool with QBs who do “enough”, as if giving a C- effort is something to be proud of.

  49. Hawaiian Buc Says:

The Glazers have never been known to meddle in football decisions (as far as who plays and doesn’t play). That doesn’t mean they can’t do it or didn’t, but it’s not very likely.

  50. 911bucs Says:

Why did the Bucs bench Josh when he wasn’t the reason we lost 2 out of 3 games?

Is our coach going to lose his job?

And how long is this going to last? I’m thinking about taking vacation time and just let them rip each other apart.

    1. What gives you the notion that Josh wasn’t the reason we lost those games?
    2. eventually he will, I bet soon
    3. As long as it takes

  51. delson Says:

Glazers are silent for a reason right now. I think they are deciding on who they will keep freeman or schiano and dominik. I know the offense needs to pick their asses up n play their responsibilty of the game so is it schianos playcalling or the qb play at fault the most? Ill say playcalling. The bucs had the lead in 3 of 4 games at the end. But playcalling be it glennons 2 picks or vanilla doug martin runs those plays are bad playcalls. Certain formations give away our plays. Two tes? Who is afraid of any of our tes catching a pass? Finally they get underwood back how bout bringin nobles back too? Glennon was forced into the starting role n clearly is not comfortable. A 4.5 yards per pass attempt? They playcalling is killing doug with no fear of a deep pass the d can stack the box all day. Bring hillis back too! If the defense stacks the box spread them out. Run draws or quick pitches. Playcalling and personnel. I dont know if dominik would admit he was wrong about being wrong when it comes to freeman not being the best chance to win for this season but in my opinion he can go too. He is schianos puppet when he has the power over personnel. Glennon needs more study time give him this season and the next to study. Monte kiffin should come home n leave them cowgirls. Hey ican wish

  52. zam Says:

I’m so glad that so many of you can have such idiotic opinions and that none of them matter. Thank goodness it’s not up to a vote. The team will do what it’s gonna do.

  53. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Bert

That is exactly what I’m saying…..yes he can win “a” game….or a couple of games…that is the problem with Freeman…look what happened to him last year…..what have we lost now….10 of 11….Josh was in 9 of the losses.
I think the owners finally gave up on him….perhaps they thought AZ was the best possibility for Glennon to win….who really knows.
But, I can just about guarantee you Schiano didn’t make that call by himself.

  54. Raphael Says:

911bucs ….. Because we were winning when the offense left the field …it’s not rocket science .

  55. Dave Says:

Does anyone remember a team recently that had MOST of the peices in place to make a good playoff run…… a team that was just missing a QB and a Head Coach?

    I can’t think of one.

Turn this around with the right HC and a QB (who knows, maybe Glennon is the guy) and they will be real good real fast

  56. Bert Says:

    Man I’m confused.

    Does anyone really know?

I got two answers that couldn’t be farther apart.

I just know I’m gonna come off sounding like a bung hole

    thanks

  57. DCBUCSFAN Says:

@ Cmurda – it boils down to dollars and sense! Josh is due in excess of 6 mil this year, and the receiving team doesn’t want to pick up that tab, and the Bucs are probably trying to work out something to settle the debt. So, why would a team pay for something they can probably get a little cheaper when he is cut or at the end of the season?

  58. Raphael Says:

The defense lost 4 games last year easily..trolls like tbbf forget we had the worst pass defense in the history of the NFL , they let their dislike for Freeman cloud their judgement…..

  59. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Bert

Such is the delima of a Buc Fan…..we have a perfect storm right now. We lost 3 games by 6 points….many to blame…but the fish stinks from the head so…the storm is Schiano’s to manage
Tell your friends you have no idea and you will be at least honest.
    Stay tuned….

  60. bucrightoff Says:

Yeah no one forgets there Raphael. Showing your poor trolling abilities, or lack of Bucs knowledge, it wasn’t the worst pass defense ever. Only 17 yards short of that. The defense lost us many games last year. Like almost all of our losses. This year Tom Brady and Drew Brees threw for 3TDs and 2INTs against the D. Where has the offense disappeared to?

  61. Biff Barker Says:

Ironic it is that your blind love of all things Josh cause you to constantly post negative things about Schiano.
More hilarity resides in the phrase….”they don’t comprehend intelligence like the rest of us….”
Call it fairly. Freeman has both on and off the field issues, Schiano has locker room issues.

  62. Bucs1987 Says:

Raphael…when exactly did Freeman get all those records? Under Schiano?

  63. Splengo Says:

  65. Bert Says:

Holy crap BINGO we agree. Wow Splengo are you sure you want me agreeing with you? That might look bad.

  69. bucrightoff Says:

If you take away the TD the defense set up at the 5 against the Jets, the offense is averaging 8 points a game. 8….points….a…..game. Think how often you can games scoring 8 points? Never would be my guess. I suppose you can throw in a 7-6 win somewhere, but yeah that speaks for itself. No defense can hold a team to 7 points or score or set up at least a TD a week.

  70. Bucs1987 Says:

Splengo ..then again I am a flipper ya know..

  71. Bucs1987 Says:

Biff …..What off the field issues does Josh have ? Name one ? ADHD is not an issue, Michael phelps, Pete rose , Justin Gatlin . Fact

1987 …..funny how all we heard in training camp was how good Freeman was playing , how he was early in and stayed late..

Here is the deal: the truth will come out and Schiano will be in trouble .
Josh will go on to a productive career…most likely in Oakland

  73. Bucs1987 Says:

The Bucs CLEARLY have an offensive problem.

  74. Bucs1987 Says:

    Raphael…Heard from who?

  75. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Splengo & 87

How is this about $6 mil? I thought this was guaranteed money for Freeman….unless you think Dom is building a case to void his contract….that is a huge uphill climb…

  76. Raphael Says:

Bucrightoff …if you take away the td that the defense set up against the Cards…then we scored only a 50 yrd FG………yeah it must of been Feeman .

Maybe the coaching sucks here , Wrs can’t catch the ball at all .

  77. delson Says:

Did u guys read about freeman saying he would welcomely restructure his contract? Money aint the issue

  78. Bert Says:

So nobody really knows anything but are willing to tear each other apart based solely on what? opinion?

thanks guys , hey do any of you know other really good Buc sights?

  79. Raphael Says:

1987…,. Heard from Joe , where were you ?

  80. Bucs1987 Says:

Raphael..once again I will ask you. Can I get an answer please?

Please explain it to me oh so intelligent one. How did Freeman set franchise marks under Schiano last season?

  81. Cmurda Says:

@DC. A team would get him right now and make the Bucs eat more then their fair share of the salary because they think he can help their football team now and it wouldn’t cost them very much in draft pick compensation. If he walks at the end of the season then Josh can sign with whomever he wants. It’s simple really. Clearly no team values him enough to give up jack squat for him. I have no doubt he will sign somewhere either this year or next but he clearly isn’t somebody that other teams covet.

  82. Raphael Says:

Bert ..nope this is the best one in the world

  83. Bucs1987 Says:

Raphael…you heard from Joe that Josh was early in and stayed late?

  84. bucrightoff Says:

Believe or not Raphael I don’t hate Freeman at all, I just don’t like mediocre quarterbacks. They get you nowhere but the middle of the first round of the draft but not the playoffs. Glennon looked alright I guess, did some nice things, acted like a rookie (at the worst moment), but he has a lot of work to do. Too many checkdowns and not enough intermediate to long stuff.

  85. Bert Says:

I know I know … Jim said it today he said he threw over 4000 yards

  86. Raphael Says:

1987……. He threw for over 4,000 yards and he threw 27 tds ….

BOTH ARE FRANCHISE RECORDS …. Srsly ??

  87. delson Says:

Since everything is getting leaked i wanna know what schiano had to tell freeman that was so important as to keep freeman from his team meeting. Where is vjax?

  88. Christopher Says:

So the 0-4 is all on the head coach and no other coach on the team….?

  92. Raphael Says:

1987 …..Joe said he has never seen Josh so accurate ……numerous times .

  93. Bucs1987 Says:

  95. DCBUCSFAN Says:

@ Bert – Let me say this – There is no way in HELL anyone with any football sense could think that Glennon – a rookie with ZERO experience, a project, no mobility, gives the Bucs the best chance to win ANYTHING! When whoever made that decision, they gave up on the season after 3 weeks! 3 freaking weeks!

Based on that idiotic move, the Glazers throw the fans a bone and ensure the remainder of the season is televised! BULLSPIT!

  96. Bucs1987 Says:

    Raphael Says:

“1987 …..Joe said he has never seen Josh so accurate ……numerous times .”

That’s fine now where did you get the early in part from?

  97. Raphael Says:

The fact is we have talent and the coaching sucks….Wrs QB’s HC especially.

Schuano will be exposed for what he is…..btw he hired all the coaches and spies on the team.

  98. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Rafael & Buc 1987

So its your prediction that Josh starts against Phil…..wouldn’t that give some folks something to talk about?

  99. Bert Says:

dcbuc thats what my friends Danny kept saying today. he said the coach should have let Josh play against the cardinals and we got a win we need badly to quiet the fans

    was he right?

  100. delson Says:

i thought mark dominik released a statement about what the reason for him being held out (schiano wanted to talk to him) of the team meeting.

  101. Raphael Says:

1987…… players have said the same thing….

FYI during the lockout it was Josh setting up practice down in Bradenton .

Doesn’t matter Josh is gone and will go on to be successful somewhere else…
I will support Glennon, he seems good

  102. Bucs1987 Says:

Rahb…F*ck Josh Freeman and his getting everything in writing. This is your team NOT Josh Freeman’s team anymore. Why not stand by your team instead of Freeman?

  103. bucrightoff Says:

The QB play is the only missing component. With a good one we’re a playoff team. With a great one we can win the Super Bowl. Hopefully we finally get lucky in the draft.

  104. Bert Says:

buc1987 why do you hate Josh so much

  105. UglyMarlon Says:

Tampabaybucfan…you’ll get absolutely no arguments out of me when it comes to Schiano. I’m fully drunk off his kool-aid. I like the guy VERY much. It’s Joe I’m wondering about.

  106. Raphael Says:

Tbbf ……Josh will not play here again, he is done here .

  107. Bucs1987 Says:

Schiano ALSO called Josh in for a meeting with HIM personally yesterday so says the Tampa Bay Times. Yet Joe won’t put that on here. Does anyone in here even know about that meeting between Schiano and Josh?

  109. Bucs1987 Says:

Schiano called Josh in for a meeting YESTERDAY to set the record straight with Josh. He told him that he absolutley had NOTHING to do with the leak to reporters. He also said that it seemed Josh understood him. Go and find that article you silly Sallys.

  110. Raphael Says:

Best….the funny thing is that 1987 liked josh until the defense lost the game vs the Jets….he and me picked them to go 11-5 … I stand by my post and players and team…….he doesn’t

  111. delson Says:

Your team is standing by freeman and do not like schianos bs. Ronde didnt want a 2nd year of that sh it even though he seen a potential playoff team

  112. Capt. Tim Says:

I was decided That Josh would be benched from the draft.
Mike Williams stated clearly, that Hlennon has had half of the first team offensive snaps, since preseason.
No wonder the Offense isn’t in sink!! Stupid!!
Schiano doesn’t like Josh, because Schiano is a control freak. He wants a pocket passer- who never varies from the script.
Freeman is a mobile, roll out passer, who creates on the run. That’s how he won 10 games-2 years ago.

Schiano has been instituting a smear campaign
    A) in order to shift blame of losing on Josh
    B) justify switching QBs

The last ten games of last year- every defense had figured out the” Prehistoric, unimaginative, and unproductive” Rutgers offense we ran.
When told we were continuing to run it, Josh asked to be Traded.
That would have made Schiano look bad.
So Schiano refused. He then be gain splitting practice time with Glennon, and began the Smear tactics on Josh. Blaming him for mistakes that were clearly coaching call. Insinuations at press conferences, etc.

Now, he has turned the Fans on Freeman- and can start his pocket passing yes man.

    One problem.
Schiano still sucks, his system still sucks, the team of Rutgers players sucks.
And even the dimmest fans are seeing thru Schianos slander campaign. His New Jersey BullSh*T isn’t flying around here.

And Dom should be fired- for standing there with his thumb up his A*+, letting this lil emperor wannabe humiliate this town and franchise.

NO MORE DAMN ROOKIES! Hire a GM and coach that know football, not act like damn pouty little children!!

  113. Bert Says:

one more question and im going to bed got to get up early to catch the bus. I have to be at the bus stop at 5:45 am. sucks grownup wanna no why kids wanna skip school were tired.

What can we expect from our new QB? I think its Glenner

Will he be better than Josh was. ?

  114. Raphael Says:

    1987 ……answer bert

  115. Bucs1987 Says:

Bert…I don’t hate Josh at all. I just don’t think he belongs the starting QB for the Bucs. I learned that after week 2 from very good seats at RJS.

  116. Raphael Says:

    Capt Tim ….Bingo !

  117. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bucs1987

No, Dominik called for the meeting with Josh. If you’re going to state things, at least get the info right.

  118. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Preach on Capt. Tim!!!

  119. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @bucrightoff

You are exactly correct, sir….the Bucs have been missing an outstanding QB forever…when we went to the NFC…3 times…we had only good QBs…but we had great defenses…
1979 Doug Williams Lost 9-0 (I was there)
1999 Shaun King Lost 11-5 (defense scored 2)
2002 Brad Johnson Won 27-10 (defense scored 7)

    That’s why I say:

“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”

  120. Bucs1987 Says:

Bert…I don’t hate Josh at all. I just don’t think he belongs the QB of the TB Bucs anymore. I learned that after the Saints game from very good seats at RJS.

  121. DCBUCSFAN Says:

In defense of Josh – the Bucs never fostered an environment conducive to aid in his development and improvement. Dominick never improved the 2010 team that won 10 games and almost made the playoffs by adding quality free agents. In his infinite wisdom he decided to keep the same team going into 2011. The team imploded in 2011, and Josh was put in the position of forcing too much because the team quit on Raheem, and he didn’t.

Dominick never fortified this team with the necessary ingredients to be successful. (no speed receiver, e.g. Mike Wallace in Pitt – No seasoned back-up QB to mentor Josh – no quality db depth).

To make matters worse they hired this current joke of a coach to run the show and he has ruined EVERYTHING

  122. Splengo Says:

    Tampabay,

This is going to be all over the Interwebs tomorrow. I would tell you where to go tonight but Joe has a hissy fit if you do that. The prevailing opinion is if the Bucs can build enough of a case to say his conduct is detrimental to the team, they can in effect void his contract even if it is guaranteed ie Eric Wright.

Rest assured the NFLPA is not going to let that happen. I have no problem with the Bucs parting ways with Freeman. There simply is an ethical way to go about it.

And Buc1987, new Splengo. No more personal attacks. Not good in the long run. Have fun, live life. I used to enjoy Buc football and I seen my share of losing. I’m out!

  123. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I just watched the Fox Football Daily show today. Totally reinforced everything I believe. Even Ronde himself said Josh is a good kid, even though he has some issues. The other guys completely trashed Schiano, and Ronde made absolutely no attempt to defend Schiano. Don’t you find that a bit odd? If Ronde felt Schiano is a good coach and/or an honest man, wouldn’t he say something? But I know, I know, I’m just floating conspiracy theories.

  124. Bert Says:

what did that guy mean are they firing the coach? man im tired

  125. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“I don’t hate Josh at all. I just don’t think he belongs the QB of the TB Bucs anymore. I learned that after the Saints game from very good seats at RJS.”

  131. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Will the “real” Joe please show up?

  132. DCBUCSFAN Says:

@ joe – thats not my job!

  133. WalkdaPlank Says:

Holy heck! Will the Bucs just leave Freeman alone? This has gone too far. So much drama in only a week. Freeman may not have performed well enough to win games. Even if you think he played bad on the field, he doesn’t deserve the way he is being treated now. You couldn’t have just benched him, could ya? No, the Bucs benched him to No.2, then deactivated him to No.3, then Schiano didn’t even want him on the sideline with his teammates, then he (supposedly) didn’t even want him in his own paid-for private suite, then Freeman was asked not to attend a team meeting, and now they are fining him over 30 grand? Joe is right, this is indeed a circus. The benching was fine, but it didn’t stop there, the list is still going on and on and on. I think the best thing for both parties would be to just release Josh. Give him his paycheck and wave goodbye. Geez, at least the Rays won, the only good team left in this city!

  134. delson Says:

Lol at joe.. eric wright had a behavior clause that terminated his original contract right? Josh is in his rookie contract.

  135. DCBUCSFAN Says:

    Fraud!!!!!

  136. Bucs1987 Says:

“Just stay up with Joe for a few more hours for what will be the biggest news out of One Buc Palace for a year and a half now??”

Joe so the Glazers are going to make this annoucement in the middle of the night/morning? Ok but I’m not staying up for it til 2:00 in the morning.

does anyone want me to come back and let you know how bad the fight was? lol good night

  149. Splengo Says:

    Delson,

It’s boilerplate. All player contracts have that clause. It just that most player’s unlike Wright never go far enough to invoke it.

Hawaiian Buc …you like to read. Go find the article on the Tampa Bay Times website. I’m sure you won’t find it here or PR though.

Josh was headed into the team meetings and he was called into Schiano’s office first so Schiano can clear the air with him. It was in print, but I guess to you the Times has to be lying too.

  154. delson Says:

Splengo that may be true but a multiple offender has less leniency than a guy who is seen as a good guy from teammates and such.

  155. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

Dominik himself said he called the meeting. Jay Glazer (the one who broke the story) said so himself. Not only on Twitter, but on TV. But keep on making an idiot out of yourself. It’s great entertainment.

  156. delson Says:

if that link still exists then the admin/joe is fake

  157. Bucs1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…I read it in the sports section of the paper. Does it really matter where I read it or who called the meeting? Apparently to you it does.

  158. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Joe

The only news tonight is that half your advertisers will leave you because you let some idiot use your name and come on the site and insult your customers….

Hey 87 who is this fool?…..Elijah?

  159. Splengo Says:

We’ll now! That let’s me know that Schiano is not the only one whose house is not in order. Lol

  161. PRBucFan Says:

    I doubt it

  162. Bucs1987 Says:

    “Apparently to you it does.”

Actually since you live all the way in Hawaii, island boy. I don’t expect you to get the Times sports section. All you have is the net and TV. I did not see it on twitter or the TV, but that must make me an idiot…I guess according to you.

  163. Hawaiian Buc Says:

This is from the Tampa Bay Times: http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bucs/dominik-told-freeman-not-to-attend-first-meeting-so-schiano-could-meet/2144939

If you can read the print, Dominik called the meeting.

  164. delson Says:

Not joe so far nothing has been written to me about the link.

  165. Bucs1987 Says:

PRBucFan …it’s tony2cents being his jackass self ONCE again.

  166. Bucs1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc …what does it matter WHO called the meeting?

  167. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Island boy”. Ha ha ha ha ha! What are you , a third grader? Oh no, not the dreaded island boy!!

And what do you mean, we don’t have the net or TV? We live in grass shacks.

  171. Bucs1987 Says:

“I don’t expect you to get the Times sports section. All you have is the net and TV. I did not see it on twitter or the TV.”

Read it again fools. You don’t get the Tampa Bay Times delivered to your door all the way in Hawaii do you? How hard is that for you to understand?

  176. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Read it again fools. You don’t get the Tampa Bay Times delivered to your door all the way in Hawaii do you? How hard is that for you to understand?”

    ———

Ah, I see. So the paper that is delivered to your door is different from the Tampa Bay times articles on the internet. Gotcha. I’m sure the one delivered to your door said Schiano called the meeting, and told everything that was said in the meeting. Don’t know what I was thinking. Because it’s different reporters that work for the internet section and the print section. Right, you got me. I’m a fool.

  177. Red Solo Cup Says:

Actually I get the TBTimes all the way out here in Baha, Cali …albeit once a month I get 30 daily additions. What can I say I’m sucker for coupons lol

  178. Bucs1987 Says:

  181. Bucs1987 Says:

“Schiano called Josh in for a meeting YESTERDAY to set the record straight with Josh. He told him that he absolutley had NOTHING to do with the leak to reporters.”

So I was wrong about who called the meeting. Again why does that matter when I was just letting people know that a meeting took place? Why exactly do I have to state WHO called the meeting? Your just being silly and technical now. So Dom told Josh to go meet with Schiano before the team meeting. WTF is the big deal?

  182. delson Says:

    Whats ur tribe splengo?

  183. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Bucs1987 says:
“Schiano ALSO called Josh in for a meeting with HIM personally yesterday so says the Tampa Bay Times.”

    THEN LATER SAYS:

I simply mentioned that there was a meeting between Schiano and Freeman yesterday. I don’t care about the details who like the Times said “swooped” in (Dominik) to tell Josh he need to go talk to Schiano in private first.
    ——-

Hmmm, personally called Josh in a meeting. Yeah, I’m pretty sure you didn’t just “mention” it. You used the word “personally” to make as if Schiano was trying to make peace. Your facts are wrong, but they usually are.

  184. Smitty Says:

Drunk breakdown Joe is more interesting than this discussion.

  185. Bucs1987 Says:

Ya know I did read the article more than 14 hrs ago. So I forgot to mention Dom, because I forgot that one line about Dom 14 hrs ago. Such silliness.

  186. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Where do you see that Schiano told Freeman he had nothing to do with the leaks? Was that also on your magical, different from the internet, Tampa Bay Times that was delivered to your door? You know, the one I’m not able to get out here, because I’m an “island boy”.

  187. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“island boy… begin a sentence with that word to a hawaiian or other “island boy” in real life. Postbfore n after photos”

    ——–

Yeah, I know better than that, lol.

  188. Bucs1987 Says:

The point of my post was that Schiano AND Josh had a meeting yesterday. Not who called it. That’s irrelevant.

  189. Splengo Says:

    Delson,

The Fugarwee tribe. A lost African tribe that you know them if you find them because their first question is always ” where are the Fugarwee?”. Lol

  190. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“The point of my post was that Schiano AND Josh had a meeting yesterday. Not who called it. That’s irrelevant.”

    ——

Again, so how do you know what was said? Too bad I live on an island and I can’t find out anything because I don’t get a paper delivered to the door of my grass shack. You have so much more information than I do. Especially since you have great seats at RJS.

  191. Bucs1987 Says:

delson I grew up with indians in Mass. My best friend was a Wampanoag indian. I dated his sister for 2 years. Not that that means a damn thing anyways or that I hold some special sympathy for the indian race.

  192. Red Solo Cup Says:

Got the courage to follow his heart
Set out for a brand new start

    He’s an island boy

  193. delson Says:

Who said anything about sympathy? Goda!

  194. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I wonder if he called his friend and sister an Indian?

  195. delson Says:

    Lmao splengo

  196. Red Solo Cup Says:

Not that that means a damn thing anyways or that I hold some special sympathy for the indian race.

Woaaaa some of my best friends are Native American .. that was insensitive!

  197. Bucs1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…the point is I don’t care what was said. The point was made to let people know that Schiano and Josh had a meeting yesterday to clear the air on the leak.

Like I said before. I don’t really care about most writers opinions of Schiano or what they think is going on, on the field. I see it with my own 2 eyes and determine it myself. I know for some reason that bothers you, but it is what it is. Nothing that’s written on JBF or PR or BucNation or wherever else is going to make my determination up when it comes to the Bucs more than my own 2 eyes.

  198. delson Says:

Nah i think he called them wampanoags lol

  199. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Perhaps you need a new set of glasses.

  201. delson Says:

Bucs1987 needs to join the godabed tribe lol or eat a snickers.. cuz u arent a fellow buc fan when ur hungry

  202. stratobuc Says:

Josh handled it like anything BUT a veteran NFL player. I hear he “mentors” , and that’s cool – but what happened to taking the high road when media spins a bs story?

  203. Hawaiian Buc Says:

the point is I don’t care what was said. The point was made to let people know that Schiano and Josh had a meeting yesterday to clear the air on the leak.

    ——–

I’m so confused. So your point is that you don’t care what was said, okay. But how do you know the meeting was to clear the air on the leak? Oh wait, I forgot, your point was you don’t care what was said. As long as there was a meeting, it doesn’t matter what was said or who called it. All you care about is what is written on the paper that is delivered to your door (the one I’m not able to get), and what you see with your own 2 eyes in your great seats at JBF. You don’t care about anything else.

  204. Red Solo Cup Says:

what is it like 1:30 in Tampa .. yep just googled it

  205. Hawaiian Buc Says:

You should tell your friend and sister you dated that they actually aren’t Indians. They aren’t from India. Most of their fellow “Indians” don’t really like to be called Indians.

  206. Hawaiian Buc Says:

But I’m sure they really appreciate that you have sympathy for their race. Must warm their hearts.

  207. Bucs1987 Says:

I don’t feel sympathy that their land was taken away. Because it’s been going on since the beginning of time. If a caveman wanted your cave he fought you and if you lost the fight you lost your cave. It’s that simple to me. It’s been happening for a long long time.

Or perhaps America should just bulldoze everything down to nothing and move every race out of America and give the indians nothing but flat land again. Take away everything, yah that’s a good idea. Give the land entirely back to the indians, with nothing on it. (sarcasm)

Now you see why I don’t have sympathy for American indians? Even if you don’t see. I don’t really care anyways.

  208. PRBucFan Says:

Why the topic of native Americans? lol

  209. delson Says:

Stratobuc maybe he seen it as complete bullsh n didnt want to seem unsupportive of glennon right after the practice the media found out. Maybe he wanted to face 1 reporter n not 30 of them with cameras recorders tryin to dig dirt or find a sliver of insurbordination throw on the headlines. Hmm common sense takes hold

  210. Bucs1987 Says:

“All you care about is what is written on the paper that is delivered to your door ”

It really is the 1st time I actually read the sports page in like 2 weeks. I do read it from time to time. The paper is my wifes doing. It was a random act. I saw the sports page and grabbed it before I went to take a crap.

  211. PRBucFan Says:

Let’s just not even go there Por Favor,

    Gracias

  212. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Then how do you know the leak was discussed in the meeting? Or is that just a theory of yours?

  213. delson Says:

Lol this guy. Ill start it by blowin up mount rushmore.

I never even found JBF until this past July. Never really cared what other people said about the Bucs. As you can see. I like JBF because the articles are short and brief. I also like to converse with other Buc fans. As I do when I’m tailgating. You will find that I could care less what other people’s opinions are though. It does matter if they are right or they are wrong. I could care less.

“Coach wanted to talk to him about how we’re going to move forward with him.”

    ——–

I guess from that statement, you gathered that they discussed the leak, and he told Josh that he had nothing to do with it.

  216. Hawaiian Buc Says:

For someone who doesn’t care about other people’s opinions, you sure do post a lot.

  217. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Are you this hypocritical when you are tailgating, or is this just an internet thing?

“Then how do you know the leak was discussed in the meeting? Or is that just a theory of yours?”

Ummm the headline of the article in the sports page. “Schiano denies info leak.” “He and Josh Freeman meet amid talk of a confidentiality breach.”

I guess maybe you think they were talking about the game plan for the Philly game…or possibly discussing about dinner reservations?

  219. Bucs1987 Says:

Yes we do still call them indians where I grew up in Massachusetts. The town is called Mashpee. The majority of the town at the time was of the indian race. My best friends name believe it or not was named Squanto, lol but his sister’s name was Nancy. I grew up with them since the age of 6 to about 18 yrs old. We did call them indians and still do.

I don’t really care what you people think of me or about me. This is a Bucs fan site, it’s late and I’m going to bed now. Have fun. 😀

    I’m done. Totally disgusted.

well if you have not noticed it’s 95% all about MY opinion. Goodnight.

That’s probably a good thing for your sake.

Hawaiian has his warface on tonight. Pun intended.

  225. Cmurda Says:

In all seriousness, there is no defense for Schiano. None.

  226. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Do you know what the word “amid” means? Look it up, read the article again (maybe very slowly), and get back to me.

  227. Hawaiian Buc Says:

It’s funny that you still try to argue, even though you just keep making yourself look worse with every post.

  228. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Or maybe they were talking about what the plan was. You know, just like what Dominik said.

  229. White Tiger Says:

Doesn’t matter what Schiano wanted to do – the reality is the league and the NFLPA investigation have served notice that this little charade Schiano is running is O-V-E-R. They can not goad a player into committing a bunch of small infractions, hoping to make a circumstantial case to the league to forego the balance of his salary.

Unfortunately, Schiano has caught the commissioners eye – an unlike the players – Schiano’s behavior can – and will – be held up to league scrutiny.

The little NAZI is about to begin a search. It could very well end up with Schiano forgoing some Glazer money for “conduct detremental – to the league…if ya like apples Greg…how ’bout them apples!?

The commissioner just promised a cuple of players and the NFLPA that no more personal player info would leak to the media. It has, heads will roll.

    Sionara Greg-san.

This man will not be missed.

**point of order** whoever said to fire Schiano and replace him on an interim basis with…Dave (freakin’) Wannsdedt?

C’mon man! That is THE WORST idea I have EvER heard!

Butch Davis and Jimmy Raye would be better candidates, even if they were in coma’s…

  230. BucsQcCity Says:

    @white tiger

Wanstedd will provide some kind of stability while tthey fix all the rest, we don’t expect him to make the playoff.. But anyone with minimal general HC experience will do this year.. I don’t care who

Davis don’t coach because he’ll lose its other salary.. That’s why he’s an “”advisor”” to the team

  231. Bobby Says:

LOL! Look, get used to Schiano. He’s gonna be here for awhile. Oh…and have a nice day!

  232. PRBucFan Says:

Weird how posts that deserve to be removed aren’t and those have absolutely no reason to are, kind of illogical if you ask me.

We aren’t all Eli jah 😉
