    Am I the only one who has noticed that Schiano is a very polarizing coach? It’s really a love him/hate him attitude. No one is on the fence.

  2. Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    The NFL is turning the game into a game for sissies. I wonder how long before we will be playing flag football ?

  3. Eternally Optimistic Homer Says:

    I agree, Apple. I was just telling my wife yesterday that I’m almost ready to give up football because of the new rules.

    It’s all talk of course…but if it gets much worse maybe it won’t just be talk.

  4. Tomcin Says:

    I couldn’t agree more. Also I noticed all the officials aren’t on the same pageIt looks like some fouls are called & some aren’t, depending on the official. Its totally ridiculous. For God’s sake let the players play. Remember its FOOTBALL.

  5. Bobby Says:

    Certainly the days of the Jack Tatum like hits are over. Maybe if the defensive backs start lowering the hit zone and enough knees get taken out they will stop being so ridiculous on these helmet to helmet hits that are incidental glancing blows when the initial hit is to the shoulders. That Clayborn penalty was pitiful. Oh well. I’ll say one thing…the way the Bucs are hitting is making me want to watch just to see who is gonna get punished. I love hard hitting football and right now we certainly have that.

    @TOMCIN,

    Funny you should mentioned the wives. My wife was in the stands on Sunday and even she said that that the NFL is becoming – and I’m quoting her directly – “a pu$$y sport.”

    It’s ironic because we have a 2 year old son who I always tease is going to play for the Bucs and she’s making cracks about football not being violent enough.

    I like the brand of defense the Bucs are playing. Unfortunately, physical play is frowned upon in todays NFL. I’m sure if you ask any player, most, if not all of them would rather be hit in the head instead of the knees. You can barely touch the QB to get a sack and trying to separate the receiver from the ball is out of the question. Eventually there will be ramifications for the rule changes, like an increase in injuries to other parts of the body. You can’t take out the physical nature of a physical game.

    With this pussified new NFL, it make u wonder if we win a super bowl in 2002, if these rules were in place back then.

  9. HolyMoly Says:

    Howie played in the days of men playing football. These days guys like brady and manning are screaming for a flag if another player breathes on them. Howdy Doodell needs to bring back real football, not the sissy league they play now .
