Let Nicks Play!

September 13th, 2013

Publicly, Greg Schiano remains on the fence about whether manbeast All-Pro guard Carl Nicks will play Sunday.

Jimminy Christmas! Play the man!

Nicks told media he was healthy. He said he was MRSA free and that his surgically-repaired foot was as good as it will get.

Nicks said all he had to do is get into football shape.

So play the man. It’s Week 2. How else is Nicks going to get into shape? If he can’t go the whole game, then a half is better than nothing.

The season is very much on the line.

As Schiano said today, “Carl’s a dominant player and we need to get him back.”

Here’s Schiano’s full news conference today, via WDAE-AM 620.

He’ll play. He’s just keeping NO on their toes

  4. bucrightoff Says:

If he is going to play, why would you tell the Saints? Let them gameplan for the possibility of either Carimi or Nicks. No point in tipping your hand.

  5. Tony Says:

What’s that weird looking ‘C’ on the right side of Freeman’s chest?

  6. Andrew 1 Says:

    YES!!! LET THE MAN PLAY!!!

  7. Nick2 Says:

Just for the intimidation factor he needs to suit up for the first drive and play that drive so his old team takes note. Otherwise its the same old Buccaneer O-line. Has he ever played his old team even? Seems like forever since he has suited up period. And why doesn’t Schiano see the urgency of winning this game?? Wow…….

  8. Nick2 Says:

Tony I don’t think you will see it there Sunday…….

  9. Jrock Says:

If it wasn’t a division opponent he’d probably sit out another week. This is a must win game though, he’ll play

  10. Orlandobucfan Says:

Per espn goldson fined 30k for one of the hits in the Jets game. I can’t imagine it being allowed but the bucs should pick up that tab and say please continue to do the exact same and pretty soon no receiver will cross him. That’s the true no fly zone. Barron and Goldson are a sick combo.

  11. Buck Rogers Says:

Nicks out of shape, is better then any backup we have PLAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

  12. Nick2 Says:

Note to Schiano…..”Your season is blowing up in your face play the best players you have or you might not be around to make that decision next year!!!”

  13. Buc1987 Says:

    He’ll play.

  14. BUCFAN0627 Says:

NOOOO he doesn’t need to play. Ted Larsen is a good option (spoken with complete sarcasm while choking down vomit)

  15. SeanyMac in SC Says:

I’d like to see Nicks get some play time against his old team.

  16. Ian620_WDAE Says:

Schiano is not going to tip his hand during the middle of the week. The fact that Nicks is back on the practice field in a ‘limited’ fashion says he’ll be suiting up on Sunday.

  17. tonytwocents Says:

my god. when we get reports that Nicks says he’s ready. reports that he’s practicing. why does Schiano want to insult our intelligence and play these games. if he wants to play it right, tell Nicks to tell the media that he’s still in pain. Hide the fact that Nicks is practicing from the media… Then come out and play it right… you fuc(king idiot! Mr Schiano!

  18. patrickbucs Says:

I sure hope he plays and is effective. He was paid to do be dominate and that’s exactly want this line and team needs.

  19. Touchdown Gus Says:

    Play him now!

  20. buc4lyfe Says:

doesnt matter if he tells saints if carl nicks will play or not because it’s not as if the saints dont know what he’s capable of, thats the silly college coach mentality. nicks made his name in new orleans so it’s not like they have to scout nicks or look at game tape of him, this coach is still stuck in his rutgers state of mind
